Meet The Artist 2025

This was supposed to be ready to post on my birthday but I've got it ready now! Better late than never, I suppose.

Here's my newest and improvedest Meet The Artist, featuring my freshly redesigned Persona. She doesn't look ridiculously different but the things that Did change matter to me enough to consider it a redesign.

It's supposed to kinda look like the previous meet the artist I had made (which was originally made in 2023) but freshened up and stuff

Back in the day (2015) I had a collection of pony OCs called "The Dew Crew" and they were all based on different flavors of Mtn Dew because I had accidentally hyperfixated (/gen) on Baja Blast and its late sister flavor Sangrita Blast (may she rest)

The hyperfixation gradually refined itself into a simmering long-term interest in all flavors of Mtn Dew because there's like... so many...

Anyway to cut to the chase I'm really tempted to revamp the Dew Crew just for the hell of it. Sometimes you've gotta let yourself make silly art for the fun of it and I need to get my mojo back so maybe it'll help.

Another Year Another Mettaton & Napstablook Redraw

Wow it's 2025 that's crazy. I finally got around to drawing my annual undertale fanart (yearly redraw)

For those who aren't familiar, every year I redraw This piece I posted in 2016 of Mettaton EX and a fan-design of a robot body for Napstablook. In recent years I've done little things to shake it up and reflect my artistic growth and all that.

Ok so you'll have to bear with me it took me forever to figure out the pose and I'm not particularly experienced with Perspective OR Character Interactions but I wanted to play around with both of those things.

If you're interested in seeing how this piece has progressed over the now 10 years of me drawing it, here's a folder on DeviantArt of the 2016 original through the 2023 redraw. I have 2024's on this blog.

I think this is probably my favorite Mettaton out of all the versions, but in terms of like idk composition or whatever 2023 is probably still the best of them. That's what I get for being ridiculously unmotivated lol !

I was thinking about including Mew Mew this year actually but that might just be an extra thing on the side if I get around to it.

I'd like some thoughts and feedback regarding a My Little Pony fan project ‼️

Since about mid-October I've been gradually working on a passion project with one of my friends - we're trying to create a Generation 6 of My Little Pony :)

I personally have come to a bit of a roadblock with my ideas and would really appreciate the thoughts and feedback from other people.

I'll give you guys some background information and then my Questions/Prompts/Whatever.

Background Info

This is just for fun! We're not planning on making a show or anything Super Serious like that, but it could be cool to make something that other folks enjoy too.

So far our most developed Components are the Setting and then the General ideas for how the characters will be. > For example regarding the setting, this generation will have less technology than G5 but more than G4. Regarding characters, my vision is to have the main cast be teenager-coded but Not in a "Pony High" way; they'll be going about their lives in a similar way to G4/G5. I also don't want our main cast to be G4 Mane Six clones.

There is currently only One main character established (out of six) - an adaptation of Minty, like from previous generations

I've mostly been struggling with the Story behind it all. I'm really itching to create and design more of the characters, but I think I need to at the very least have a Skeleton of a story before I can flesh out characters.

G4 and some of G5 will be canon in this generation. As of right now, that mostly means in a Cultural sense (like holidays, terminology, how magic works) but unlike G5 this won't be as hellbent on being a continuation or anything that heavily relies on the previous generations. Remarkably I actually liked G5 so I think it would be fun to include little bits and pieces from it in the same way I would with stuff from G4. Like, callbacks and stuff I guess?

We have a Google Doc with loads of our ideas just typed out so don't be afraid to ask questions if you have any!! I'd be happy to answer them :)

Here's what I'd like your thoughts and feedback on:

What sort of characters would you expect or like to see for a Mane Cast? This includes Personalities, Gender Ratio, and other things like that.

If you were writing your own generation of My little Pony, what sort of story would YOU want to tell? Alternatively, what sort of story would you want to hear as a viewer?

Would it be interesting to bring back/reuse characters from previous generations? Like how we're including an adaptation of Minty in our main cast

What do you like most about previous generations of My Little Pony? Alternatively, what do you think were the most successful aspects of previous generations? (Obviously in this case Toy Sales are not an aspect to consider)

Do you have any ideas for a new generation just in general? Anything that's been on your mind that you've wanted to share?

Today marks 10 years of sharing my art online which kinda amazes me.

This is the first Original drawing I posted to DeviantArt on December 12, 2014

It's not very good but that's because I was actually 10 years old and lied about my age when I made my account for the sake of posting my pony drawings somewhere for others to see. I wasn't especially Experienced, but I was having fun.

Nowadays I know why it's bad for kids to lie about their age for social media so I do Not condone that. But posting my art online was actually kinda great for me, in an artistic sense that is.

I made friends and they encouraged me to improve. Back in the day I was... Not very receptive of critique and criticism, but like I was 10 lol I've grown and changed. In hindsight I'm glad I was able to get critique and feedback.

I'm not really in contact with my old DeviantArt friends anymore, which is unfortunate, but that's life I suppose. If you guys are out there, hi! I hope you're doing well.

I think it's a little funny in a way that my online presence as an artist has circled back to My Little Pony. I started out with them, and my most recent post was about them. You can take the girl out of Equestria but you can't take Equestria out of the girl, maybe. Happy Early Birthday, Chatterbox, my first online ponysona. She was brought to life on the 14th.

My creative juices haven't been flowing like they would back in the day. I guess that's what happens when you get old LMAO. When I started posting my work I would stay up late making loads of drawings back to back just for the fun of it and then I'd post them. These days I'm lucky if I can sit down and make a full finished drawing once a month. It's not like I don't enjoy drawing anymore, I still like it!!! It's just that I haven't really had it in me like I used to.

I've been working on another project though, and I think it's going to help me get some of my mojo back. I'd love to tell you guys more about it when it's a little further developed.

I know this Tumblr account hasn't exactly been around for a lot of my Online presence, but I still want to thank you all for your support over the years. Thank you to my DeviantArt Watchers, Instagram Followers, Tumblr Followers, and even my Amino Followers. I hope to keep creating for years to come.

I ended up watching all of My Little Pony: Make Your Mark recently and I enjoyed it despite it being Only Ok

I developed a soft spot for Misty along the way.

That series ended like a year ago so I'm not going to be too careful about spoilers. Here's a little doodle-y thing I digitalized on MS Paint after drawing the original on paper

I'm sharing this drawing waayyy out of date in both directions. Every year at the start of the new year I make my Yearly Progress Piece, which is a redraw of Undertale Fanart I made in 2016 of Mettaton and Napstablook also with a robot body.

I realized I didn't have this year's version available on my profile! So, better late than never (it was drawn in early January of 2024), I wanted to share it.

(I'm making this post on my phone right now don't yell at me if the background isn't transparent I'll fix that later at my computer)

The inspiration for the 2024 redraw was a sort of "caught by the paparazzi" look. I'm pretty sure that's the energy I was trying to show in the 2016 original, at least for Napstablook. I wanted them to look awkward and uncomfortable by the spotlight while MTT tries to embrace/normalize it? I guess? Though I'll be honest I like the 2023 version more.

Every year I learn something new about Mettaton's design, too.

Parts of this base may not cooperate perfectly, but I tried to make it work as well as I could. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie have some wonky parts, sorry about that. I did what I could 😔

Especially with Pinkie, I had to make the additional parts work with the costume. That was a challenge but I think it gets the job done.

During my scheming, I doodled a sort of pony shape for my Hypothetical G6. I liked the drawing so I turned it into a base because uh... Yeah why not.

So I recognize that this sort of "style" here leans heavily into G4. That's what I'm used to drawing but my thought process for a fanmade G6 was that it would be 2d so like, there can be some similarities.

I have a Brain Dump about how I'd imagine a G6 to go and maybe i'll share it when it has enough Meat on its bones. for now i'm just drawing ponies.

honestly I didn't know what to name her for the life of me. fantasynamegenerator dot com doesn't have a Sonic name generator but I did find a JJBA one there (which I also enjoy) so I browsed that

I was torn between Sabbath and Lennox but I thought Sabbath sounded cooler

Tried to replicate the Sonic Adventure era 2d art style as best I could. I like the way it came out, it feels like I captured the concept while also keeping my own style in there.

Making new refs for ArtFight after procrastinating much too long, starting with one of my oldest OCs:

I made the dumb decision to rework a lot of lore so I needed to make a new ref to accommodate </3

Pretty much he was a tacky wannabe emo boy in his 20s and then got more normal after having kids. Also I'm just generally bad at drawing detailed enough pants they always end up a little weird. Call it twink death if you want or whatever the kids are saying these days. It took me like 6 billion years to figure out a pose for this fun fact.
