I’ve had the phrase “quit your job. Join my emo band” stuck in my head for the past few hours now.
#Thank you aethernet for introducing me to these horrible phrases that now rattle around in my head.#But at least I don't have to deal with these stupid occurrences alone.#Sorry Fray.#revas blogs

Don’t get me wrong.
I appreciate Fray.
But his original solution to me being used over and over as a hero was, “Quit your job. Move to the beach. Leave everything behind and never come back.”

Oh. I suppose I should explain the Dragonsong War, since... at least for now, this is something that will pop up a lot. I may be a little scarce with some of the details, especially recent updates, but I can give the rundown.
A long time ago, man and dragon used to live side by side in peace and harmony. They used to coexist, creating small towns, statues, that sort of thing. And some dragons thought man was inferior to them, and some elezen got pissed off about it and decided they wanted power.
So they gouged a dragon’s eyes out, realized that a dragon’s eyes are the source of their lifeforce and power, and then they tracked down Ratatoskr, one of the original of the seven broodchildren of Midgardsormr.
Nidhogg wanted revenge for the brutal death of his sister. Who wouldn’t? They took his eyes, too. Hraesvelgr granted Nidhogg one of his eyes so that he could yet continue to live, and Nidhogg has attacked Ishgard for a thousand years since, while the king and knights twelve that had killed his sister covered up the truth and created a religion of lies that would last those thousand years.
Furthermore, dragons are functionally immortal. They can sleep off most wounds, though it might take them a few hundred years to recover from some of them, or some might kill them. To them, this attack on Ratatoskr was like it happened only a few days ago. Meanwhile, in Ishgard, no one even remembers the origin of the war, just that it’s one they’ve grown up and died fighting.
It was a war they could never feasibly win, and a war Nidhogg never intended on ending.
It’s... things are a little more complicated now, but I’m not sure how to explain it all. Still, I thought I should explain this.

Really though. Nidhogg might not be doing the RIGHT thing, but I don’t really think he’s doing the WRONG thing, either.
If I were Nidhogg, I would also be losing my godsdamned mind.
#Personally though I would choose to raze Ishgard to the ground rather than torment for as long as I live.#revas blogs

I want to say that I think it’s incredibly fucked up, to me, to make leather from the dragons I’ve killed. It’s... they’re intelligent beings. I know they tried to kill us, and that they weren’t friendly, but...
It’s still pretty fucked up to make leather from their skins. Like... fucking imagine if I walked up to someone wearing their best friend.
#It's even more unsettling considering that I do think we au ra might be related in some form to dragons.#There's a difference between putting shedded scutes on one of our boats and... This.#revas blogs#{aka HEY FF14 WHY DO YOU LET US DO THIS????}

@creepy-crowleys said: Hello, Revas. I'm Meredith Crowley. It's nice to meet you. I've mostly been enjoying a quiet, rainy day inside.
It’s nice to meet you, too! That sounds like it would be nice, though personally I’d spend it outside.
That said, I’m happy to be indoors for a change. Where I’m at currently, it’s frigid all the time, and it doesn’t really agree with me, even if I’ve had to deal with cooler temperatures for most of my life. I mean, it’s fine, but I’m definitely missing... well. Just about anywhere that isn’t Ishgard, at this point.
Alas, I still have to be here for a while to broker peace between the dragons and the Ishgardians. It’s a little slow going, at the moment.

Er, I apologize for being slow with this. I’ve been busy today trying to keep up with making... currently, armor. There’s more of you than I expected, so I’ll fit you all in this one post, I suppose.
Revas Lavellan-Orben, Warrior of Light and also one of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. I hope you’re all well. Let me know if there’s anything I can do for you?
Otherwise, uh, feel free to talk about your day or something.

I’m afraid I won’t be available to talk for very long; I have something bordering on a migraine.
Anyway. Hey, I’m Revas Lavellan of the Orben tribe. I’m an Au Ra Scion of the Seventh Dawn. ...I don’t know what to add, most of the time people know who I already am before I have to say anything.
Are you well?
