Hey, gang. If you haven't noticed already, my name here (as well as on several other platforms) has changed from chippy82577 to the elusive chipponius (or something else different if you're looking at my Twitch because I thought I settled on one idea but then completely switched for the other and it's stuck that way for a long while... *sigh*). Anyway, new year, new me. Getting older and with that came the most sudden and unexpected feeling of disconnect from my old moniker. It's like it represents a primordial form of me - a form representative youth and all the horrible, dumb antics that came with it. And that makes since as I've been using the name since elementary. I wanna move on. I want something that represents a new shape of myself that I hope to form into. So we've landed on the very emperor-like name chipponius. I like the vibe. And the lack of numbers that I personally find easy to remember but understand may be hard for others. No matter what though, Chippy stays. For those who don't know I snagged the name from an old cat of mine who's long gone (disappeared when I was a wee lad because she was kept outdoors :/). I used that name for myself online and it inexplicably became a part of me. And I'm glad it did too, it's a rad name. You know how many other names I could make using Chipp- as a prefix? A whole heckin' lot >:). It's fun. But yeah, that's it. My new name which I'm rolling out slowly but surely. chippy82577 isn't gone for good but it'll take a back seat and be like a subheading; I'll still use it but primarily that's not my brand. Still Chip. Still Chipp. Just a little bit more -onius, haha. Now let's see if I'm gonna make a whole new Instagram account or just rename my current one- God, that's a hard decision...

Chiprepost Extravaganza - Beebo (the Clown) Master Post

A bundle of art I've done of my OC and former mascot/sona Beebo the Clown - the four most important pieces- who's since been retired and replaced by Space Cowboy. From the newest to oldest we have:

The last piece I've done of him - third colored. Went out with a bang, I'd say. I worked on it at home and when I had free time in school. Was proud of it then and still am now. It fucks.

The initial doodle - his birth. I believe I wanted to draw Deadpool but things took a turn and he happened. I resonated with him a lot, which is why he was given the title as my mascot/sona to begin with. Back when I was more open on my IG stories, I used to try and put on a voice for him ☠ Embarazzing. Anyway, I supposed this would be a good time for...

THE LORE:

After the death of his parents, little Beebo goes on a journey and finds himself in a little coastal town where he eventually sneaks into the circus and is taken in, becoming Beebo the Clown (because the show runners reasonably didn't feel comfortable giving a kid anything dangerous to do). It's been years and present day, he's still clowning around. He's simply just too silly.

His signature boots were given to him by an old lady who took care of him from time to time. She never wore 'em and couldn't fit 'em so she decided they deserved a new lease on life with him, the grandson she never had. He had a roommate and best friend named Swan, who was the straight man of their little duo.

As of now, I have no plans to draw him and his compatriots again, let alone develop his story. I said I retired him but his story as a whole is put up on the shelf until the day comes where I'm magically compelled to care for them once again. (If that does happen, I imagine the story would be much darker and have somewhat of an actual plot.) Anyway, the Chiprepost Extravaganza is just getting started, so stay tuned! I have quite a bit more to reupload here (and on Bluesky) before I can start posting new. (That being said, with Tumblr's format - being able to add titles and what not - I might go ahead and start posting new stuff. We shall see.) That is all :))

Attn: People With Cervixes!

When was your last Pap smear?

Because I am tired of seeing young people (think 40 year olds!) die horribly of an almost completely preventable disease, and I haven't seen the obligatory Tumblr PSA about it, so I'm making my own.

1. CERVICAL CANCER IS REALLY BAD

Cancers that have a good prognosis are usually cancers that can be caught early--like skin cancer, which is easily seen, and therefore usually treated very early. Cervical cancer does not give you symptoms until you have very advanced disease, which means unless someone is regularly testing your cervix, you will likely not be diagnosed early. More than half of people diagnosed with cervical cancer present with advanced disease. 75% of them will be dead within 5 years. For comparison, when caught in the earliest stage, there is a 90% 5 year survival rate. Treatment for those diagnosed is chemo and radiation, and believe me, those are not fun. If you do happen to be in the lucky 25% of survivors, if your cancer comes back, you have an 85% chance of dying within a year. Also! We think of cancer as something that happens to old people, but the average age of diagnosis for cervical cancer is 50.

2. WHO GETS CERVICAL CANCER?

Cervical cancer used to be the most common cause of cancer-related death in women in America, but at this point it's basically a disease of People Without Pap Smears--developing countries, immigrants, low socioeconomic status, BIPOC, rural communities, LGBTQ, etc.

3. HOW DO PAP SMEARS SAVE YOUR LIFE?

A Pap smear is a screening test for two things: HPV, and your cervical cells. HPV is the most common sexually transmitted disease in the world. Literally half of the people in America have some strain of HPV on their body. Most HPV infections go away on their own (in people with healthy immune systems), but some strains are Very Bad, and some people are just Very Unlucky, and the HPV starts causing your cervical cells to turn cancerous. 91% of all cervical cancers are caused by HPV. So a Pap smear looks to see if your have HPV, and if so, is it one of the bad ones? And also, do you have any cancerous cells hanging about in your cervix? And! It takes 10-30 years for HPV to turn those cells into cancer, which means you have a really really long time to catch it before it becomes cancer and cut those pre-cancer cells out!

4. WHAT ABOUT THAT VACCINE?

The thing my dad said I shouldn't get because it might make me a slut. Yes! There is an HPV vaccine! You should get it! It protects you against the nine most common cancer-causing types of HPV. It's recommended starting at age 11, and you can get it up to age 45 now! (It used to be 26, but as of 2020, it's now extended.)You can get it from most primary care doctors, or from Planned Parenthood, CVS, Walgreens, etc. If you get the vaccine you still need Pap smears.

5. I HEARD YOU CAN ONLY GET THE VACCINE IF YOU'RE A VIRGIN

Fake news. While the vaccine does not treat old infections of HPV, it does prevent new ones, so while the benefits are theoretically decreased in those who have already been sexually active, it does not mean you will not benefit from having it!

6. WHO GETS PAP SMEARS?

Everyone with a cervix starting at age 21, until you lose your cervix or until you're 65. You should get them every 3-5 years (depending on your exact age and what test your doctor does).

7. BUT I GOT THE VACCINE

Nice! You still need Pap smears.

8. I HAD ONE AND IT WAS HORRIBLE/I'M SCARED OF THE EXAM

Talk to your doctor about this in advance! Good gynecologists (and other providers) will work with you to minimize discomfort as much as possible. They can use a small speculum and lots of gel, prescribe anti-anxiety medications to take in advance, and some people will even use numbing creams and/or laughing gas.

9. BUT I DON'T HAVE/CAN'T SEE A GYN

Most primary care physicians can do them! So do a lot of urgent care centers!

10. BUT I'M A LESBIAN

HPV can be transmitted through oral/genital contact, hand/genital, and even hand-to-hand-then-genital, so you still need Pap smears.

11. BUT I'M A VIRGIN/ASEXUAL

You still need Pap smears. HPV can be transmitted not just through penetrative sex, but also through oral/genital, hand/genital, and hand-to-hand-then-genital, and also 9% of cervical cancers are not caused by HPV.

12. BUT I'M A TRANSGENDER MAN

If your cervix was removed, then congrats! You do not need Pap smears. Otherwise, unfortunately, you are still at risk for cervical cancer and need to be screened.

13. BUT I'M A TRANSGENDER WOMAN

Neovaginas do not need Pap smears! Congrats! Consider getting the vaccine, though, to prevent spreading HPV to others.

14. BUT I'M A CIS-GENDERED MAN

Congrats! You do not need Pap smears! You should still consider the vaccine though, not only to prevent the spread of HPV to others, but also because HPV causes 50% of all penile cancers as well.

In summary: please please please go get your pap smear. Go get vaccinated. The spread of HPV can be prevented, and cervical cancer can be caught and treated before it even becomes cancer.

Chiplord's (My) Official Cowboy Flag!

I decided to Google myself today, as one does, and a few pins from my Pinterest came up which prompted me to update my profile on it. While doing so I came across the elusive gender section, the options being male, female, or nonbinary (as expected). If you click nonbinary you get a blank to fill in with whatever you like, and I knew what I had to do... Anyway, I had to shit, so I went to the bathroom and I decided fuck it, I'mma make myself a cowboy flag, so I did. Worked on most of it while in the bathroom, but left out to do the hat because pins and needles was coming back full swing and I wasn't gonna deal with that for the third time. So, without further ado, I present to thee my official cowboy flag!

If you're wondering what the colors mean, they're literally just supposed to look like a desert at sunset, so nothing deep like "ough, the orange represents my repressed desire to ride a horse" or anything like that. Just pretty colors that look well together. If you wanna read about my love of cowboys and where it all began, check out my Everskies blog post, which is apparently two years old already, damn 😭. Anyway, all you other cowboys out there feel free to use it for personal shenanigans I guess, just be courteous and credit me :3 I spent a lot of time on this. And I'd love to know if anyone decides to slap any cowboy characters in the center of it! (Stares at Cassidy Overwatch and Arthur RDR2) I might make a space alt since my mascot guy is a space cowboy and Spike Spiegel is a character that exists. Vash too, I think he counts... If I make the alt it'll be added here and this last paragraph'll cease to exist. (NOTE: As much as I like most posts to be in chronological order, this took top priority over all my old art repost I gotta do. Hey guy! So I officially decided that I'm gonna start posting art here as well, which means going through the archives and digging up ancient relics so I can have everything in order from oldest to newest, as it should be. (I started doing that on Artfol but never finished, lol.)

gundam IBO aka my problems with mari okada

i finished gundam IBO, tried to figure out why it felt so wrong, and only afterwards found out it was written by mari okada and honestly that explains so much.

if she somehow reads this post i’m sorry but here is my thesis about mari okada: all of her works have the same two problems:

1 - they set up a situation that will pull on your heartstrings, but then pull so much harder than was narratively justified that it breaks immersion and ruins the impact

2 - they have weirdly-romanticized ideas about romance, basically where a character falls for some idea that a person represents rather than the person themself, while also usually either (a) being heteronormative and/or steeped in tropey gender roles (b) ignoring perfectly good (less idolizing) chemistry between a different pairing

something about dewdrop’s bed was so much more comfortable then yours; maybe it was the fact that his was a queen sized mattress and yours wasn’t even a mattress, it was a futon. either way he loved having you in it as much as you loved being it.

dew strummed his guitar softly as you fell in and out of sleep listening to him on his very soft bed. you could start to feel your eyelids getting heavier and the melody start to sound faded from dewdrops guitar.

“you’re falling asleep” he says without looking up from his guitar.

“i’m resting my eyes”

“yeah sure you are you little gremlin” you open your eyes and pinch his thigh harshly at his rude nickname. “hey ow!”

“glass houses baby” you tell him as he places his guitar on its stand at the edge of the bed.

“that hurt”

“no it didn’t you drama queen” you state laying your head on his now empty lap and take dew’s hand to place on top of your head as you close your eyes.

“it’s not the pain, it’s the surprise” you chuckle softly at his dramatics and he starts gently playing with your hair.

“you love me”

“i do” you can hear the smile in his words. he cups your cheek softly and runs his thumb over it.

“i think i love you more than i care to admit” you open your eyes to try and find his through the dark goggles on his mask; no use. you sit up from you comfortable position and carefully press your forehead to his helmet, avoiding his sharp horns.

“you don’t realize you’ve admitted it by saying that” you take his hands and hold them in yours. “i’ll love you as long as i’m alive”

“who’s the drama queen now?”

“still you”

“probably still me—” he says talking over you. you smile and pull down his face covering to kiss him gently, you pull away and dew instantly pulls you back in to return the kiss passionately. you smile into the kiss has he holds your waist firmly; you can feel heat rise to your cheeks.

“so what song were you playing? i didn’t recognize it”

“just a little something i’m putting together for you my love” he grins at you and you roll your eyes at his cheesiness, grabbing his mouth covering and pull it back only to let it go to smack the lower half of his mostly covered face.

“hey ow! why must you hurt me you little minx, huh?” dew’s hands move up to your sides to start his tickle attack on you. a yelp leaves your lips at the shock of it.

“hey hey quit it!” his fingers come to a halt but his hands remain on your waist.

“see what i mean? it’s the surprise of it” you smile at him and pull his mouth covering down once again to kiss him.
