I know you said something about Perry's proc last time, but I'm curious to hear more about it! What does "proc" mean exactly? Does it truly make em immortal? 🤔

"Proc" by itself is more of an Action than a Thing. Perry "grey procs" whenever ey start to dissociate. What it does depends on how deep into an existential struggle Perry is currently.

Ey have accidentally dragged toons into the grey through light procing, be it through a teleport or ey're standing too close to a wall. In more severe cases, toons that catch a glimpse of something "wrong" in Perry's gaze suddenly find themself awakening with a jolt in their estate, having abruptly disappeared out of thin air where they once stood. Severe cases are infrequent, but Perry has been shown to be capable of modifying the fundamental attributes of others (out of eir control what exactly the extent of this is, though. Such as accidentally turning eir best friend into a Shyster because they both passed through the Lawbot HQ doorway at the same time while Perry was undergoing high procing.)

Perry's procing also affects emself, however. Times where ey'll suddenly come to a standstill and abruptly blipping out of thin air to everyone else. While other toons simply awaken back at their estates though, Perry...

Ey don't know what this means, but ey get frozen still staring at whatever this is for a few seconds before waking back up at eir estate.

Of course, this is just one example.

The immortality on the other hand isn't caused by procing, that's just a side-effect of the corrosion ey have from being in The Grey for too long. And it's like... less true immortality, and more the fact ey can die, but ey'll just be brought back after a few minutes due to The Grey basically constantly redrawing em.

Ey remember what happens whenever ey die, it's not exactly pleasant.

Though at the same time, give him some lipstick and pan the metaphorical "camera" away. Perry will come out of that with eir face covered in big kiss marks and no explanation how.

Do you have voice claims for Perry, Chip, or any other character?

*dabs sweat off of my forehead*

You'd actually be surprised to know I don't have a lot of firm voice claims. I have a basic idea for how characters sound in my head but I don't necessarily have an actual voice that suits them perfectly.

What I can share though is that I at least have a voice for Chip! Unfortunately I have. No clue who the actual voice actor is (nothing shows up when I look around. man.) but Lord of Blades (this timestamp + 11:12 + 19:13 + 27:10 + 29:43 + 30:20 + 36:00) from Dungeons & Dragons Online is the closest I've gotten to what he sounds like in my mind. Except even then I need this voice to be pitched lower. Chip has an oktavist vocal range to me.

As a bonus, the Override to me would have the same tone but just be completely flat, without emotion and inflection, and be incredibly loud. Of course there's not really any of that with Lord of Blades, but if I had to use an audible example of what I mean, I'd probably use AUTO from Wall-E? But while this does perfectly showcase the fact it's an emotionless thing, it doesn't feel completely "right".

I don't really have a voice claim for Perry. I have a "genre", but not an actual voice. The best way is an "imperfect" tenor vocal range (Sean Bonnette of AJJ and Brian Sella of The Front Bottoms both come to mind) but also with a moderately heavy Midwestern Accent on top.

The only voice claim that's perfect as-is to me and exactly how the character sounds in my mind is Brian. Brian sounds like Todd Howard. I can't be convinced otherwise.

Does chip have any weird noises that make him feel bad (Ex: i dont like apple ringtones they make me feel like im gonna vomit) sorry if this hard to understand idk how to put it in a way that makes alot of sense

YEAH I get what you mean! Though I feel like the general "Loud Sounds" applies to this, I feel like most of his misophonia triggers are on the "common noise" side of things.

Stuff like eating/drinking sounds, heavy/uneven breathing, and sniffling all make him scrunch his face and glare. You can imagine how much of a struggle he had with Flint at first.

This is a completely separate kind of trigger to misophonia, but I feel "Chainsaw Revving" is worth an honorary mention. There's a reason he restrains himself from expressing using a natural part of himself. It'll take a lot of time and patience for him to be comfortable with it again.

What do you think Chips favorite tabletop game would be?

Scratching my head... I guess it depends on how you define tabletop games? If you mean things like DnD, he wouldn't be interested at all. He doesn't really have the time or patience to read through a whole rulebook.

If you mean a much more broad term, I can probably see... Poker? He was much more into it in his college days, though. He proooobably wouldn't turn down playing it, there's just a bit too much going on for him to have active interests these days.

Probably played Monopoly a few times too, but that's Monopoly. I think almost everyone has played Monopoly, and he personally is rather neutral to it. Doesn't dislike it, but he's not super big on it.

Yeah, he definitely has Echolalia. However, I think we can be a bit silly with it because Suits are Robots.

I think instead of saying things out loud he literally just plays a recording (lightly grainy, it's a lot more evident his vocals are a little damaged). Absent-mindedly playing recordings to himself without fully realizing it because they itch his processor.

You can imagine the innate hilarity that is suddenly hearing a slightly low-quality playback of Spruce's voice coming from him while he's still jotting away at his work.

So...uh...what's Perry's story?

Oh I have. Absolutely no way to summarize this easily, but you don't know how long I've been waiting for this to get asked.

Being completely honest the easiest way for me to share Perry's story is via Toyhouse (ey're also my only visible character on there currently, sorry </3), but everything there is pre-Chip (though there's some links to a currently hidden tab WITH that info that'll become public once finished). HOWEVER, everything pre-Chip is written down. I'm a lot better at drawing things out than actually writing about them, but I hope things still make sense for the most part. I'm happy to share this little forced angel with y'all.

Ok hi back again but Personal Hc but I feel like Chip would probably have many and or a Hyperfixation he could talk abt for hours or just something he knows a bunch abt (Ex. Mary knowin a bunch of things abt the Ocean)

Oh he absolutely would. The only caveat is, well, actually getting him in a position where you could ask him about his interests and he wont glare at you for distracting him from his job.

He doesn't seem like much of a big talker to me normally, typically limiting himself to 10 words per sentence unless he absolutely Has to use more to get his points across. I know in-game he uses contractions, but it just feels more... Right to have him not use them ("Do not" instead of "Don't", it feels more formal... cold. stilted. restrained.). This isn't about his speech patterns though.

For actual things you could get him to turn into an unskippable cutscene about... Ask him about the latest news in stocks (or ask him to teach you about stocks). He's a Bossbot, of course he'd care about stocks. And speaking of being a Bossbot, golf is another thing he'd ramble about as well. But while he could talk your ear off about golf in general, he's much more likely to ramble about the televised golf scene, telling you about the suit-equivalent of Tiger Woods destroying the competition in some golf tournament years ago. Talking about his favorite bands is probably another way to get him going. Just figure out one of his favorites and be like "hey, can you tell me more about the band [x]?" and you will be trapped. More minor things like his hat, his job, his career, and maybe even a bit of hiking (as much as he isn't a nature person, he probably misses being able to do it with Spruce) will be enough to get him to start rambling... if he's in the right mindset.

That being said, if you're close enough to him that he's willing to talk your ear off about this stuff, he's probably also gonna drag you in and complain to you about things he's experienced. Suits these days, this current generation is hopeless. ...And other probably very boomer-adjacent statements. He sucks.

What was Perry like before Everything that happened to em sucked all the joy and whimsy out of eir soul?

Perry was honestly just like any other toon. Perhaps a little less on the talkative side, but still just as silly and joyous and prank-filled as they come. Above all else, ey also used to be a sailor prior to Toontown. One that used celestial navigation to cross the Inkwell Seas.

...Of course, ey got an invitation to a "Free Vacation", and that's how ey ended up in Toontown. Ey honestly would've made a great Resistance Ranger! ...But then came across an empty spot in the canvas that would lead em to The Grey. And then ey started learning a bit too much.

does chip like sweets or desserts? (I kinda think he would like hard candies?) may i know your opinion though?

Hmm... Personally, I don't really think he'd have much of a sweet tooth, if at all. He reads more like he'd have a preference for things that're savory/umami. He loves meaty flavors, and in general is very. Very. Very annoyingly picky.

It also means he can and will complain about cheaper food even if it tastes good. He, As Someone Who Is Rich, doesn't want to be perceived eating at a normal restaurant. ...But also he'll shut up about it completely if you sit him down at a bar with a functioning tv playing something like Suitopia's Funniest Home Videos. That'll keep him entranced.

You've drawn Perry interacting with Chip (a lot) and with Spruce (a little) but are there any other cogs ey interact with beyond standard battle?

Oh yeah! There's definitely a handful of other cogs Perry interacts with. While Chip is obvious, Spruce... I don't think I touched on yet (let us just say he's a key factor in how Perry and Chip started interacting in the first place), and I went over Misty Here...

Flint is a case where Perry and him don't start getting along until after Chip and em are in a QPR. That's an entire hilarious situation involving, after rekindling his semi-estranged friendship with Chip, Mx. Bonpyre accidentally pavloving themself into liking Perry. He never intended to start enjoying eir company. The two of them beat the shit out of each other out in public, but then in private Flint proceeds to take a big drag of his cigar and tell Perry about how Dave's music sucks and ey should listen to Metallicog. Ey take his advice.

Graham is similar in that he only comes into the picture after Flint and Perry become friendly. Except in his case he pokes fun at Flint for getting buddy buddy with a toon until he sneers and wants to meet em for himself. ...Do they get along? Yesn't. Flint has to be there or else they start hitting each other with rocks, but it's specifically done without hatred. They just have this weird mutual friendship-rivalry going on. They both make faces and go "eugh" at each other but don't dislike each other. Hope this helps!

Prester isn't an active figure in Perry's life. But he is impactful. ...In the form of Perry having an incident atop the tower when taking him on suddenly went rough, leaving Mr. Virgil to... drop to his knees and apologize profusely to Perry for attempting to sully such a divine being. ...It only made Perry feel worse.
