A while ago I was invited to contribute to the Form the Ashes ATLA fan Zine for @recovery-zine!

I got to illustrate this double spread! (which was terrifying, thank you) Pretty sure this is where the thought "Jee survived the north" began to form for me! The theme was about the war ending, peace settling and people getting to come home and reunite with loved ones.

Hi, I love your art sm! I have a question about your process; how do you get references for your art? Are you at the point where u don’t need them, or do u have a go to website? Or take photos yourself?

thank you! I explained my process a bit here in this ask LINK depending on the time and energy, i am pretty much at the point where i can figure out some poses by memory alone. but i need one first very crude sketch in order to like to have visuals about what i like to do? or how to pose the body. So: step 1. Crude sketch step 2. Redraw it properly (sometimes i can right away use the sketch for coloring) step 3. Proper line art for coloring (examples below)

i don't spend much time combing through the internet till i find the one pose i would like to draw now. i just start to doodle. see something i like. and then refine it. i look up images if i have trouble with some anatomy or i need some help with colors and pattern. but its then things like... "toothy smiles" "male torso with belly fat" "guy stretching nude" "long hair in water" "human skeleton with muscle" "underwater photoshoot" check out how it more or less works and then adapt it to the drawing i am working on. i have been drawing for over 15 years now. i have build up a bit of a visual library, and have reached the point that sometimes i see artworks and know which pinterest image was used as a reference because people stuck to only one photo of a model and basically redrew the original just with some refinement. nothing wrong with that just not something i do or at least avoid doing.

so uh... how familiar are you with @ssreeder Leaving it all behind series. because 'if not at all' its a bit of a spoiler. but hey its kind of a standard that the Earth Kingdom is likley not the biggest fan of Fire Nation royality ... so uh... EK army and Long Feng did that? don't worry jee got him! (and jet got hit worse)

okay so... you know whats really funny here. i think made this while for the first time polls popped up on tumblr. and i had this werid idea of like... "choose your adventure" kind of story telling. but... lets be honest i don't have much... time to draw all the options? but this is still like... a sort of darker AU which is deer to my heart. and till today i don't know if they should have a happy end or not. sokka got shipwrecked. and to make his situation even worse zuko poped up and and took a bite of him.

the whole siren idea is more based on the sinister one. the one drowning and eating seamen. and zuko is now out to eat sokka. i have some plot lines written out. -sokka playing with zuko a game of riddles to buy himself some more time -zuko being unable to stay in the sun so sokka has to decide if he lest him take shelter underneath his make shift raft or lure him out of there to burn him. at the end sokka does get saved and can escape for some time? because zuko did end up biting him. and now sokka cant stop hearing him in his head, and zuko can still follow him. so... watch out sokka! zuko is on his way to eat you up but i still don't know if he means it literally or in a more plessurable way...

This is is not soley my own wip? Last year for the Zukka Novels i got paired up with @paramouradrift that wrote this really exiting Mirrors edge AU. i still want to finish the skatches i started for it. because the story is genuinley fun and i enjoyed drawing for for it! Time and artblock got in the way and i am kinda fighting this scene... Also there is one choky zuko that is in my way... listen if something goes wrong blame zuko thats what i always do!

would love to see ur august 2023 file! (btw how big are those files if u just keep adding more and more layers to draw on….my computer is crashing just thinking about it LOL)

i persent to you... my wet boy! but also... my dilemma with this wet boy... what could wet boy wear? (not that he is wearing much most of the time... ) uh... i don't work with many layers? i try to keep them on a minimum for simplicity. sketch, lineart, colours, details (max 4-6 layers each drawing) but once a month or every two months, or as soon my pc begins yelling at me, i clean the files up. rearange the layout remove everything that is not relevant so in this one file are only the images you see and no hidden ones. (ideally)
