Do you think Jax regrets loosing Ribbit because he was the reason they abstracted? Or feel like they could have done something more to make them happy, which is why he insist he's "the funny one", because he feels that if he had just made them laugh more, maybe they would have stayed a longer, but over time that thoughtfull intention corroded and now he's just...

Ragatha prolly tried cheering him up, which is why in ep 5 he says "If you keep telling someone you love them everyday, it kinda looses it's meaning" (not the exact wording) which is why Rags feel like she failed him...

I think Jax regrets it, because he couldn't do anything when Ribbit abstracted. And "The Funny One" the archetype might was given by someone (idk if it was Ribbit or Kaufmo) to help others avoid abstract. But that didn’t work, he resorted to more radical means to "achieve" this goal, becoming a "VILLAIN" and creating a more stable bond between the others, making them hard to be abstract.

He stopped his friendship with Pomni to avoid his archetype being destroyed, not to show them that he wanted to be friends with them and that he was afraid of being hurt by the abstractions of others. So he "acted" as if he didn't care about anyone to prevent anything that could hurt his or others' feelings.
