How wild it must be to be named after an ancestor that committed a horrendous experiment 100+ years ago so bad they erased as much research as they could find only to find yourself staring into the face of that experiment fully realized.

choso is the kind of man who looks like he crawled out of a shrine and straight into your unresolved attachment issues.

he’s grief in human form — soft-spoken, blood-soaked, and terrifyingly loyal.

he doesn’t need to raise his voice. he just exists with intensity. the type to whisper “i won’t let them touch you” like it’s both a promise and a curse.

and don’t get me started on the face markings. if emotional devastation had a uniform, he’s wearing it.

do i want him to protect me with his entire soul? obviously. do i want to be the one person he lets fall apart in front of? tragically, yes.

can i just say i love the way your characterise choso!!!

i understand he’d maybe be a littleeeee clueless when it comes to certain things seeing as he’s never been fully integrated into human life but some people just fully infantilise him and make him act like a child so it’s sooooo nice to see someone who doesn’t do that when writing for him! :)

Thank you anon!! 🩷 I genuinely love Choso so much and his character is a lot more complex than he gets credit for sometimes. I completely agree with that you said about him!

When I write for him I try to base his personality off of how he talks/acts in the manga. He’s earnest, and he can come across as a little weird/off-putting at times (Megumi was creeped out by him lol), but he’s not naive imo.

I feel like he would hate being babied or taken care of, since he wants to be the one taking care of his loved ones. He’s a protector at heart and I try to show that in my writing too!

Also he was canonically sentient for the 150 years before he was put into a vessel, so it’s not like he’d be stupid. Like you said, he might not understand everything about society since he only interacted with his brothers for all those years, but he’s not a baby. I don’t understand why he gets written that way sometimes bc like why would you WANT your boyfriend to be completely clueless?? All love to anyone who does write him that way but it just doesn’t appeal to me
