I claimed an oc made to chow design a few months ago. Ive heard no update, ive pushed in the server and got snapped at. Others also have heard nothing. I know people personally who have been either ghosted or their deisgns were never finished by saunt, big names in the server. Alot of people dont seem very pleased with the species but are afraid to speak out. Its frustrating. Alot of people are being swindled

Saunt ignoring her ask channel is genuinely disgusting. Why work on Avilets when you have a backlog of claimed adopts and people who are begging for you to respond to them? I would recommend that everyone waiting on something from her keep publicly pushing and mention how long it has been in their messages in her channel. Be transparent about her lack of regard for the community. And most of all anon, remember you are not the only one frustrated and over Saunt's behavior.

Really hoping they do keep the rule in place for this new batch. Otherwise what the hell is even the point of having it? Silly or not, the rule was implemented for a reason. Regardless of the theme of the batch, the rules shouldn't be bent just because there's a chance of being over 20 designs.

The batch itself is 20, but mod hinted there could be more later on.

Also- With a batch of 20(possibly 20+) why the hell only have 3 free? Why not make ot 5? Or hell even 10? 5 could be fto only & 5 could be free ffa.

But with how long it has taken for the 1000th chow and other things like traits... I am no longer shocked.

The 1000th Chowling and all the other Saunt-held raffles are up to Saunt to handle and roll. Which she usually doesn't.

However, the traits and such seem to be handled by the mod team as a whole now. I will admit that the traits seem to be coming out consistently now instead of members having to remind the mods that a certain seasonal trait should have been restocked.

If its raffle: Most raffles are notorious for choosing the same people over & over to the point that it /does/ feel rigged. When you see the same names popping up in every single rng raffle? It starts to make you wonder why. Regardless of knowing that it is rng. You start wondering: Is the system favoring people who have x of this or that? It's a terrible feeling honestly. I hate thinking like that, but again: when the same people keep winning every single time??? Best example is when the one member won 2-3 raffles for one event that had multiple raffles. Even winning multiple chows in one go. I think they have implemented a cooldown though.

Voting type things: May be fun and silly events however! Voting has almost always been notorious for being highly unfair. I would rather it be rng based votes no matter what. Regardless if an event is "silly" or not. Most votes tend to go to those who have better skills, can animate, etc.

There is always the option to not participate in voted events. It sucks cause you basically have to choose to sit out. Where as with rng, despite the feeling of thinking it's rigged, you still know it IS rng based and have a chance at least.

The bird drawing event in the chowling server sure made people conflicted on how the winner is chosen since it is not decided through a raffle, but on the silliness factor. Context being that Saunt hosted a small event that whoever drew their birds the silliest wins the chow design based on chocolate mint taiyaki (and that it was one of the remaining designs from the taiyaki ota batch that nobody bought or received. Granted that most people are not willing to waste €500 for a chibi design). That does leave me to question if all short/freebie events should either pick the winner by rng or by the decision of the host (in this case, Saunt).

It seems like a lose-lose situation no matter what. If it is RNG based, then users will say that it is rigged. If it is voting based, then users will say that it is rigged based on popularity.

Whatever happened to that 2023 chow zine Jypheran was making, did he just abandon it?

The last time I can find that it was mentioned by the mods was back in July 2024. You would think they would have mentioned if Jypheran/Cataclysm was not going to finish it. But I think we can all assume it is not going to happen since it has been 2 years already.

The mod team seems to leave a lot unfinished.

They obviously cant stick to their schedule either. Seeing as the 16th was supposed to have a batch raffle for the community. Yet they made Taiyaki batch instead, of which one was preclaimed/sniped/bribed before the batch was posted. Which wasn't supposed to be happening anymore. Even trying to make a theme that was already taken! Makes me wonder if that's what happened to someone elses chow (they are no longer on the ML and it happened around the time saunt made the "copycat" announcment.) Makes me wonder if saunt is really the one copying (look at bamboo dragon & the other bamboo chow on ML. They are eerily similar). But because they are big and popular, they can get away with all this B.S.

Community really needs to start calling out the staff and saunt on this crap more often. It's getting super old. They keep introducing new crap (with no use still), but still haven't even gotten traits done yet.

Not only did they miss the initial date set for the 16th but the date Oko stated as the new one, the 20th, has passed as well. Saunt clearly has scheduling issues.

I hate that the store is still empty after 2-3 years? How long does it take to resgore these things??? Seriously.

Gice us traits back. Its tiring having to entertain events for crap that is always in stock, but you cant get anything out of stock.

The ones that are out of stock currently are seasonal ones. Hopefully they will continue to make them available yearlong like they did with the Marble Soda item.

It is really frustrating when you need a certain item, but it is not in stock and people refuse to trade.

Quit spreading misinformation. Lyra used an MYO and a dragon statue to void soda dragon to remake them as effervescent dragon. Anyone can do that.

The change logs on site show that Effervescent Dragon is the same Chowling! I will admit I am not sure how the rules of voiding and using another MYO work but LyraSomnium themself stated they were “given very special permission for this change due to it being a non-drastic ‘theme change’” and they “obtained a new Dragon Statue and MYO to put the old theme into fairly.”

The way it was written makes it sound like:

1) Soda Dragon’s theme was changed to Effervescent Dragon. This can be confirmed by looking at the change logs on site as it still shows logs from its initial creation from a year ago.

2) LyraSomnium obtained a new statue and MYO to remake Soda Dragon. Once again, confirmed on site by looking at the MYO Masterlist.

If the original Soda Dragon was voided, then the logs would show that Effervescent Dragon was “created” in June, 2025.

So staff are allowed special perms to change lineage apparently.

Kind of crappy considering the rule was put in place and saunt said they didn't know that it was even a thing. Had a full convo in art chat about it. Said it is fine to switch lineages, they always allowed it so long as you knew you needed a statue & would lose the old lineage.

No announcement either that this was a huge miscommunication on staffs part.

They should not be allowed to switch at all after they said something about "the rule has always been there!" No it wasn't, confirmed by saunt, the creator. "No announcment needed cause its always been a thing!" No, no it was NOT. Again, confirmed BY SAUNT.

So why the hell is staff allowed special permissions to switch lineages?!?! Thats utter speciality right there

How is changing the theme from Soda Dragon to Effervescent Dragon not considered a "drastic" change? The two concepts are not related in the slightest. This is such blatant favouritism from the mod team for their own it is honestly appalling to see.

As for the changing lineages issue, we have also seen disregard for these rules by the mod team, specifically Oko. They used to own Final Girl which was originally a Monster and then they changed it into a Fighter. And yet, Oko is the one stating that lineages cannot be changed?

There was nothing wrong with prompts before. "Unfair"?! Members chose to do the art they did. Nothing unfair about an artist making their own choice to do prompts the way they do.

I don't understand how we factor in bonuses now either. Everything in percentage... How tf am I supposed to help them grade if I don't even understand the guide anyway? Will I still get my bonus if I dont type it in like we had to before?

Off topic: Where the CGA batches go? I feel like we are past due for one?

Comparing Symprite's prompt guide with Chowling's prompt guide just highlights how eerily similar the two species are becoming unfortunately.

Also, to put it into perspective, the last CGA batch was in September of 2024. It has almost been an entire year.
