She is the third chowling character I've made so far. Same as the previous two, she's made almost entirely from printed minky fabric. I love the cherry blossom theming and patterns!

Sits around 13" tall and 32" long.

which do you like more, chowlings or symprites?

background note: chowlings and symprites are the two closed species im currently in and only active on!

WELL, its complicated, i like them both for different reasons

take notes those who wanna look into these species behehe 😈😈

chowlings are great cause they have a solid species lore and background, its well set but not too strict to prevent you from build a character for your chowling IN the said lore

the redesign rules are also really loose cause since its a theme based species, you can go ham as long as it showcases the same theme

theres also a game development that lets you play as your own chowling so really excited for that!

however, they are really hard to get with very little adopt/ MYO slot sales and the events prizes can be bit....unfulfilling, so it could be slightly newcomer-unfriendly (aka hard to get into the species in the first place)

symprites are the opposite, they're super newcomer friendly cause the event prizes are 🤌PEEK, theres really frequent adopts that are sold for around 60~100$ (which is considered quite cheap considering the quality of them) and also the MYO slot sales are also quite often (not monthly often, but still)

and even for a adult only species, there seems to be a constent flow of newcomers and it feels like a generaly good time

however the world lore don't have anything unique going on, so theres not much to do species-wise characterbuilding

so in short, i like chowlings for their great species lore and excited for their soon to be made game

and i like symprites for their active community and exciting events

so yeah i love em both 😎💖 both are equally great for different reasons

Hello new chow vent!

Came to say: I love the species.

But currently am pretty upset about how things are going.

Site is still in disarray even though it just had maintenance. Seems like everything is more broken than it was when they made the move, which is beyond dumb. Im sorry, but the coder seems to be more on about fixing symp site stuff than Chows. The sucky part is? The coder went on vacation or something irl, but was still fixing symp site stuff? Oh! And pretty sure there was a sale where proceeds went to the coder, but the site is even more broken now than before. Pretty fishy imo.

We STILL don't have foraging or trait items. But myo drops have been more frequent (thankfully). Even if it still seems the SAME people keep getting them, or even winning premade sales etc. Idk... Just seems like they're pumping out a bunch of useless shit (pavo, pyxis, etc) that have 0 use until everything is done... Just to keep people from crying.

And we did just have a suggestion thread about all this. There were some minor updates where they said they were working on things, and what the plan was... But they're also still releasing things no one can do much with until MONTHS down the road (stardrake things are best example).

I just wish there was better transparency.

I also wish people had talked to saunt about the lineage swapping. Saunt even stated it IS OKAY, that the rule was put in plave without them knowing. That they jave okayed plenty of lineage swaps. We still cant swap either because they've been talking about it. Seriously though? If the owner states something was put in place without them being talked to about it, that rule should be invalid period. That's a shitty move to whoever did that. And oko really should not be putting up any kind of "talk about it" kind of thing. Regardless of the status now, if that rule was not EVER THERE according to the owner/creator, than imo, they really do not have a say. It wasn't even supposed to be there in the first place.

Personally, I have never seen any lineage swaps outside of one (Final Girl) which was done by Oko themself. If there is an actual conversation going on between the moderators and Saunt, then they should be more transparent about it.

It really does suck to hear that Symprites has access to the coder more often than Chowlings does. If the coder is so busy as the moderator team claims, then how does Symprites get updates during these supposed "busy" periods.

Wait so basically I saw achii as a child and did his blonde fur did he dye it to blue and also I know he did not just stick a dead fish against his tail💀if so

OK SO!

achii is a chowling (cs) and according to the species lore, all chows start out as "blank" with only some key features, and they slowly starts to get their colors/characteristics as they grew up

(example: baby achii and baby poi (anoter chowling i own)

so NO its not dyed, its his natural fur color that came out as he got older 😌

ALSO, his "tail" (the fish part) is made of rubber

its like flippers but for his tail, his actual tail is the fluffy part underneeth (somewhat like a otters tail)

he USED to use a real fishs tail and swap it off once a week, but apparently pepper find it "gross" and "unsanitary as fuck" so he got a rubber one instead

he sometimes use a real fish tail though still, great at luring in specific types of fish
