Though intended for June (apologies), the 3 Year Anniversary Update of Korea Undok Group is available now! 4 cassettes available below:

Zika Boys — Ancient Water (C28)
Zika Boys’ primordial electronic statement, Ancient Water, is 6 tracks and 27 minutes of pulsating ambience and tape-saturated primitive sound. Prehuman dance music. The wait is over!

Erik Tisu — P (C17)
Composite of holiday, family and stress. The sound of the dishes made him fearful. The radiator was loud, the door closed too quickly. Nervous laughter. Erik’s first release of physical music. Acoustic and electronic sound.

Various Artists — Cancer Pool (C30)
Second compilation from Korea Undok Group, made up of bands, guitars, feedback, drum machine experiments, bigfoot sounds, animal recordings, live recordings from TD bank and little more. Appearances from Global Pool Raiders, Tangram Ring, Corpa Zen, Magic Square, Silent Partner, Angel’s Egg, M.L.Ö. and OS Grid Reference.

World Counsellor — Wild Rose Country (C26)
Second offering from this national enigma. Soft synths and sub abuse are coupled by the Counsellor’s infamous sensibility, creating a uniquely blurred mood that never lets up. Albertan roots, celebrated at last!

The debut vinyl offering from both Kjostad and Ligature, the sounds contained on this split LP give you limited time to grasp the joy or the darkness before you're turned on your emotional head. If you're listening - attuned as deeply as your mind permits - field recordings, voice, radio, harsh teases, the world without man... they trickle in and out of your ears in tantalizing grace. Kjostad has witnessed massive growth since the debut "Wolf Knoll Road" of 2014. No, somehow his Breaking The Will persona does not rear it's maniacal head, although you might hear some heavy breathing beneath the mire. This recording, instead, has as much indebted to love as it does rage. Question and answer without finality. The birds still chatter as the society shatters... Something often lost in the era of new American noise/experimental is the capacity to conjure long-form tracks that feel whole and cohesive. Look no further you supplicant! There is a certain poignant brevity that is specific to Stefan's work and it inarguably shows itself within this LP. Ligature has steadily and excitedly evolved over its few short moments of existence. Influences have been shorn off and the project, as well, exists in a private-but-exposed place. Elements of spoken-word, heavier use of field recordings, and contemplative moods run rampant on these three tracks. Just like Kjostad, there's a bare intimacy running through the entire recording, even in moments that may seem to have a function of stirring up the listener's concentration. Hazy, periodically adrenalized, lingering on after the moment itself. A combined effort that is incredibly fitting; both engaging in similar but completely disparate approaches, both shining bright in the externalizing of deeper mental recesses. Is it time for year-end lists yet? (Description by Trevor Brubaker / Eyestrain Magazine)

One of my tracks from the upcoming Ligature / Kjostad - "Overgrown" split LP on New Forces is online for your listening displeasure now.
The track "Floodlight" uses the cruel hunting method of 'spotlighting,' and its effect on animals as a reference for paralyzing anxiety and paranoia stemming from traumatic experiences throughout my life.
I'm really proud of these recordings and quite excited to have them out in the world soon. They are en-route from the plant to the label, so keep your eyes peeled. Below is an album description by Trevor Brubaker of Eyestrain Magazine.

Growing to be one of the longest running DIY festivals in Toronto, we are excited to announce the seventh year of NOT DEAD YET. This year’s festival will be taking place October 12 - 15, 2017. It’s four full days & four loud nights of wall-to-wall Hardcore Punk Music!
This year’s highlights currently include the Toronto return of Baltimore’s TRAPPED UNDER ICE, the first Toronto show ever for Portland’s inimitably noisy LEBENDEN TOTEN, a set from CRO-MAG powerhouse HARLEY FLANAGAN, Cleveland hardcore Maniacs INMATES, the digital terror of New York City’s L.O.T.I.O.N., the hardcore fury that is KRIMEWATCH and the maniac rhythms of MOMMY along with the Finnish force that is KOHTI TUHOA, the ferocious combo of ANTI-SEX & RIÑA from Ciudad de Mexico and many many more. Stay tuned for a second announcement in the coming weeks with even more bands!
As always, the goal is to fill the weekend with some of the best bands playing HC Punk today. No filler!
We aim to have the shows as accessible as possible but please note not all venues are accessible. Accessibility info will be available as specific shows are announced. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again - NOT DEAD YET is proud to be anti-racist, anti-homophobic, anti-transphobic and is generally opposed to any and all oppression. Let us take the opportunity, given the timing of this announcement to resoundingly say fuck the delusion of ‘celebrating 150 years of Canada.’ See you in October!
This year’s lineup currently includes…
1-900s Acrylics Anti-Sex Booji Boys Burden C.H.E.W. Collagen Druj Fried Egg Harley Flanagan Incendiary Inmates Kohti Tuhoa Kombat Krimewatch L.O.T.I.O.N. Lebenden Toten Marbled Eye Mommy Nosferatu Patsy Public Eye Rashomon Rik & the Pigs Rina Trapped under ice Vanilla Poppers Witchtrial

Some Ligature news as it's been fairly quiet of late:
Was just informed that I've been invited to play this years installment of 24-Hour Drone: Experiments in Sound and Music at Basilica Hudson. Very excited to be a part of it.
I'm also performing IN Sewer Election this coming Saturday with the heaviest lineup: SEWER ELECTION (SWE), Puce Mary (DK), Leda (SWE), Kakerlak, Being, H.C.O.D., White Rhino Taxidermy @ Trans-Pecos.
As far as releases go, the Ligature + Sewer Election collab tape will be out initially this weekend in limited edition on Harsh Head Rituals, with proper pressing to follow shortly after.
I'm also happy to announce that I'm in the process of working on a split 12" with KJOSTAD for the New Forces label.
A summer tour with Pleasure Island in support of his upcoming LP on Torn Light is in the works.
Future releases planned for Aught/Void, & Second Sleep down the road.
