Okay, just putting out some of my random ass, balls-to-the-walls theories about Dai dark. None of these are actually based upon fact, mostly just gut feeling or little things that have happened so far in the series (btw, don't think I've read past either vol. Five or Six (it's hard to remember for me cuz I read them online lol) So if anything I say doesn't add up to how the story is right now, that's why.)

anyways, spoilers abound ahead!

I think Avakian is actually Zaha Sanko. Like, Idk it's hard to explain ig...but I think the Older Sanko we see in that one weird dream/flashback that Sanko had is actually Avakian. I can't remember what the pannels looks like exactly, but I believe it kinda looked like old Sanko was being sacrificed or something, and carried by what could possibly be two light head members. But I think that it's more likely Zolar "members" possibly? Depends on what "Zolar" really is. Where ever he (Old Sanko) is really at could also be "Zolar".

I also maybe think that it isnt actually Sanko that has the "wish bones" like most people think. I think it's Avakian. Idk not much to back this one up either other than a one off line that was something like Avakian saying that if Sanko dies, he dies too. Also kinda of think that it could connect with the sort of "reincarnation" theory I think is going on with Sanko/Avakian.

I also think that it's possible that Shimada could have killed Sanko previously. Maybe that's why Avakian hates him so much? Seems like Shimada's relations run much deeper with Avakian (and Sanko, to a certain extent) than the series is letting on.

ALSO ALSOO. I think it's REALLLY kinda suspicious that shimada just hangs around Sanko all of the time. Like, Yes he technically has a reason to do so, aka. eating lots of "the flesh of death" and saying they " taste better when it's not him that's killing the person" but I think the whole thing is kinda fishy tbh.. Seems like an excuse to me for some reason? Like I said, pure speculation, but I find it hard to trust Shimada, especially because it seems like the series WANTS you to.

I also don't really think Shimada death is actually "death". (atleast, in the grim reaper sort of way that I believe he's supposed to be like) I think just because he can kill on demand, doesn't mean that he's death.. Sounds funny, since he literally has " death" in his name, but I think maybe the "death" part could be some sort of alias that he picked up from being a space menace, lol. (Also, wish I knew Japanese, since I think that could possibly give more context clues to what's going on with him. Sorta like the thing Q did with aikawa, kai, and ai, possibly?) I also don't think he's immortal (I talked abt this in another post lol). Again, not really any solid evidence to base this upon other than a gut feeling that a being thats actually "death" is going to show up and fuck the group up lol.

Anyways done throwing out some of my theories that will probably be bogus, because you never really know for sure with Q's writing style until the plot twist is revealed, then it all suddenly makes sense in hindsight, lol.

God dude. Like if dorohedoro ever gets another season I will literally never be the same. I will be an entirely new person. I will be unrecognizable from the moment I get to see the cross eyes gang on tv speaking actual words I can hear. My atoms will forcefully tear themselves apart when I see kai and curse. I will walk out of my own house after watching it and not even remember who I am. The Only thing I can and will remember is dorohedoro season two. You will never remember me because I will have never existed as I am today.

One of the things I like about Nikaido's costuming so to speak in bits where she's in Hole is how Hayashida gave her such a like relatable casual sloppy-hot look?? Like one of my fave details is that you can see her bra cups and straps in the spaces where her cropped tank top doesnt cover. There have been many a summer where thats my EXACT look and idk why I find that so charming lol Plus when Nikaido is going to throw down, more often than not she's usually wearing the cover all fully or other clothing that covers her arms and legs instead of, for example, the cover all usually being folded down and tied around the waist when she's just chilling, which is also practical.

In general I like how Hayashida has such a solid and wonderful balance of making not only the women, but also the men, look sexy, grimy, cool, tactical, and informed by their environments. She did such a good job really bringing life into these layered worlds she built and costuming was definitely one of them. Like so many of the looks are seared into my brain like Kaiman's ribcage jacket, Dokuga's all white moth hoodie and pouches look, Noi's sweat suit/corset and leather look, Tetsujo's samurai helmet, etc. I could go on!

Spoilers for dai dark. (Sorry for the bad pictures of my laptop screen btw I just really wanted to talk abt this) (also this is like a draft I made literal months ago and just now decided to post because I wanna put more Dai dark stuff out in the world. Its so good go read all of q hayashidas work. Anyways, forgive me if its stupid)

Been re-reading dai dark (for like the fiftieth time lol) and the interactions between/dynamic between Shimada and Damemaru are legitimately so interesting looking at them from a analysis standpoint.

This scene in specific is so interesting to me.

Their was literally no reason for shimada to do this. Damemaru was already aware that Shimada could kick his ass. The only reason I could see why he says this is because he's scared of damemaru.

I think it's mainly because shimada doesn't know the extent of his power. I don't think Damemaru fully even realizes it either, or at least as far as I've seen him show so far in the story. He's honestly so overpowered. I don't even think that reducing him to atoms could kill him the way that his ability works.

He's afraid of damemaru because he is the only being alive that could ever even come close to being able to challenge him. Because damemaru's immortal and is constantly adapting to being killed in different ways. (ALSO shimada mentions that he himself is immortal a couple of times, but it's always followed up with: "as far as we know" so I think he's lying about it. Which means eventually that damemaru could MAYBE kill him. Eventually. If he wasn't such a dork. Lol.)

Re-reading dai dark after re-reading dorohedoro is like therapy because it's so fun and silly and the war crimes and traumatic events haven't happened to any of the characters yet because it's not finished and everyone's just having fun killing a cult corporation and traveling space.
