tiger boy has a little brother now, Tiger Cub. they both live in a small fictional asian jungle. every citizen is given three tiger (and sometimes other animal) hoods. one that is sewn with fabric when they are born, one that is real, made of actual animal, when they turn 7, and the final hood, also real, when they turn 19. because some kids grow out of their hoods before it is time for their new one, alterations can be made to better fit. they are worn nearly constantly, taken off to eat, wash, and sleep. repairs can be made, but the hoods are extremely durable

as a transgender nonbinary person, being myself haunts me everyday. its a personal hell and i hate it. through the years i've tried and continue to try my very best to love that facet of myself, so i made a little ceramic guy that sits on my desk to cheer me on. at about 5-6 inches tall, made of stoneware ceramic clay and sparingly dawned with the transgender colours, he shows how little by little more and more of that part of myself comes to the surface, with most of it (the main flag) continuing to sit on the back-burner for now. baby steps. theres no rush.

a continuation of the sad bunnies series. This one depicts my struggle with gender identity and is possibly, despite its simplicity, the most vulnerable piece I've ever made. I started questioning at the start of high school as that had been the first time i'd ever been near outwardly queer people. From that, I didn't know where to go. I was miserable as a girl. I found two options, being nonbinary, or being a boy. I was curious about both, but felt a bigger connection to being nonbinary. While some young people have a chance to explore, any hope or interest in being fully male was ripped away from me and killed before my very eyes, and i later had to fight and claw for my right to be nonbinary. I currently do not identify as male, but who’s to say if that's because of me or because of the outside forces working against me. That's part of the reason being nonbinary is so important to me. It's the only option i have left, so i protect it viciously.

The little tiger boy is part of a world building concept I'm working on. He was based on a dream I had about a tribe of asian jungle dwelling people who worshipped a tiger deity. Despite being white-passing, my dad and his maternal side immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong. while i only speak english and french, my grandmother speaks mandarin, cantonese, shanghainese, and taiwanese, and she is helping me put traditional chinese labels on this character and the relating characters to come. Similarly to the bestiary, this is part of a general love for world building that inspires me to create.

a concept page for a species in a bestiary I'm developing. As it turns out, a bestiary takes a long time! These specific ones would be arctic dwelling animals. This was really fun to work on and I hope to continue to work on it and add more animals.
