hiding in the shadows, I smirked. the fools were looking for me everywhere but up. aiming my gun at one of them, I shifted from my left to my right leg, letting out a deep breath as the action soothed my burning muscles. the slight sound caused one of them to look up and I shot, the sound of my gun and the thud as the body fell giving away my position. I jumped down from the second floor, the adrenaline of being caught making the pain  almost non existent. the other three were running towards me, guns out. I ran to the side, hiding  behind a metal container, a loud ping ringing out against the surface as the bullet hit the container. I looked around and found a ladder at the edge right where I could see the shadow of one of them inching around slowly. rushing forward I grabbed his arms, kicking his legs from below him and pinning him to the floor. wrestling his gun from his iron like grip all while muffling any noise from his mouth with one hand, I pointed it at his chest, the silencer doing its job as his eyes blew open and went dark,  the blood already staining my hands and pooling on the floor. I stood up rounding the corner and emptying the bullets shooting at the other man. he fell dead few new bullet wounds on his body. I looked for the last one, the thirst to kill and revenge growing . I found him hiding by the door. he looked up at me, tears stains down his face. for a second he reminded me of him but I shook my head, hitting him on the head with the gun and dragging  him to the harbor, throwing his body over the side. i took a deep shaky breath, tears threatening to fall as I unknowingly replayed the day in my mind- the screams, the blood.
I heard slow clapping behind me and turned around. There he stood, the one I wanted to kill. I pulled out my gun, thumbing off the safety. he smiled calmly and said "lets talk first darling. I want to know why you're going around killing my men," he pulled out a gun holding it with confidence and I knew he wouldn't miss. " do you remember the young cop you killed who was part of the undercover mission Joshua?" the way metaphoric venom spilled out at the mention made him tighten his hold on the gun. "Ah Dino, nice kid until I found out about his betrayal...you've got to end the threat as soon as you find out about it or it'll cause problems later." tears welled up in my eyes and my hands balled themselves into fists. "why, did you know him?" he seemed genuinely curious. "he is-was my brother." I choked. "ahh I'm sorry for your loss.truly." he smiled before pointing the gun at me.  he pointed lower and shot. pain burst through my leg as I fell to the ground, yelping as blood flowed through my fingers. "I meant it when I said I've got to end a threat....but I like your drive I could use that one day and when I do ill get you out. till then goodbye." he walked away as I sat cradling my injured leg and soon after he left the air turned blue and red as the cops arrived, finding me drenched in the sudden rain still clutching my leg.
I laid on my bed counting the cobwebs on the roof. a guard banged on the rails of the cell. "someone's her to see you" I stood up, the slight limp still evident though it had been 4months since I was caught. I entered a room I had never entered in the entire duration I was here, the only thing separating Joshua and me being a relatively thin slab of glass.  "I see prisons been treating you well" I kept up a straight face. he nodded slowly and smiled "remember when I said I could us your skills?" my eyes widened in realization.
at the same time the room was bathed in red as the emergency lights revealed the plan perfectly. he stood up and waved his hand for me to move back and stood on the chair, kicking the glass with all his might, shattering it and sending glass everywhere. he held his hand out to me to take. I did, the red light making him look strangely attractive as he laughed and pulled me through the door.

"Three people were discovered dead in their own home." Zac ate his sandwich slowly as he listened to the awful news while warming up in his car. Someone almost flung themselves inside when the door flew open. He groaned and asked, "Where do you want to go?" Looking back, he could see a person covered in a coat that was clearly too big for them. He was taken aback when he heard a feminine voice say, "Just drive." "DRIVE," she said. whipping his head forward and accelerating the car to a faster speed. His passenger appeared to be content as she settled in, but her eyes continued to dart around her, as though analyzing the surroundings.
Yn slipped her hand into the coat pocket and wrapped her fingers around a stone roughly the size of a lime. As he continued peering behind, the driver appeared to be exceedingly nosy. She lurched forward as a glint struck her eye, her palm tightening on the driver's shoulder. "Stop," she said quietly, and he slammed on the brakes, skidding the car a few meters. She flung the door open and bolted, leaving some cash in the passenger seat behind her. She had just turned the corner when she heard a big boom and felt the heat behind her, the night sky turning into day for a brief second. She turned around to see the charred and mangled wreckage of the car she had just gotten out of. She clung to her coat and slammed into something hard as she turned the corner. She raised her eyes to see the person she was fleeing... or, more precisely, someone who worked for the person she was fleeing. The man's loose sweatshirt did little to conceal the rippling muscles beneath the fabric. She took a defensive stance, but she knew it was pointless because a single blow from him would send her straight to the afterlife. She dashed towards him, slipping under his arm just as he was about to grab her. She exhaled a sigh of relief as the coat became taut and she slammed against the ground, air escaping her lungs. He grabbed her in a chokehold and pulled her up like a doll. She kicked at him weakly as her lungs burned and her eyesight turned black due to a lack of oxygen. The ticking of the clock broke her sleep, which she hadn't had in a few days. She tried to block it by bringing her hands up to her ears, but they seemed to be tied down. She gradually awoke and discovered herself bound to a chair. As she strained to break free, her senses went into overdrive. "It's pointless because there are three other people in here except us, plus a few more outside." She raised her head and found herself in front of the last person she wanted to see. Despite the circumstances, he smiled. "hi." He sat in front of her and carefully untied her ties. "Wonwoo" she pleaded. He returned the stare with a broad grin on his face. "Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to kill you unless it's really necessary. "He returned to removing them." "It was actually a great strategy... flinging yourself in front of my car and playing all innocent..." I liked you a lot, you know? Maybe even loved, but wasn't that your plan all along?" When he looked up, she noticed a hint of sadness in his eyes. Her heart ached a little. He took a graceful step straight to his desk. He chuckled as he held the emerald he extracted from inside her coat. He jerked his gaze away from the stone and peered around, grabbing the revolver from the table in the process. Her heart climbed into her throat slowly. "You can leave here if you want, but..." He walked back to her and took her hand in his, pushing the revolver into her grip. "Kill me first before you leave. "Her hand shook as she looked at the gun before putting it to his head and pointing it at him. He gave her a soft smile as she removed the safety, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She reinstalled the safety and tossed the revolver to the side his face twisted in confusion as she approached the door and found no resistance from the 7ft tall bodyguards standing around it. her hand gripped the doorknob before a shot rang out. Her hands flew to her chest, blood coating her fingers as her eyelids flutter open wide. she fell almost noiselessly onto the carpeted floor as Wonwoo moved over to her and kneeled over her dying body, gun still in hand. She caught a glimpse of him smirking wryly out of the corner of her eye " should've just shot me. You CANNOT disgrace me and walk away alive, no matter how much I love you." He tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and stepped over her body, leaving her in the dark as he exited the room and closed the door behind him.

EGO | WOOZI
Tumblr media
pairing: lee jihoon x reader
genre: angst with like two lines of boyfie jihoon
summary: four bodies, one serial killing spree and a very curious MO you certainly have your work cut out for you. between this case and begging your boyfriend to get a proper night's sleep you find certain aspects of the case which my destroy every bit of comfort in your life
warnings: knife, blood and a little bit of gore
word count: 1.4k
a/n: its my fic so idk if it'll be good but yeah anyways enjoy ૮ • ﻌ - ა
•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•
you sighed as you went through the case reports again. the MO was all over the place, bits and pieces stolen from old cold cases, some of them not even revealed to the public. the only similarity between the 4 corpses - a single long cut over the heart quite possibly from a large kitchen knife and stitched back up as though the perpetrator had been curious about the inner workings of the muscle. the messiness of the various cuts and bruises littering the body contrasted vividly against the clean wound; single, calculated incision. you wanted to throw up but forced yourself to look at it for any clues. you were broken from your intense staring by your phone's incessant ringing. you smiled at the contact name and picked up, a sleepy voice awaiting you on the other side. "when are you gonna be done? it's late and you've been working the whole day." your eyes drooped close almost on instinct. "I'm leaving now. you sound tired so don't wait up for me." saying your goodbyes to the detectives on night shifts, you hailed a cab, wanting nothing more than to be wrapped in your boyfriend's arms.
you opened the door to your apartment to find it dark, the only light coming from the television. "Jihoon I told you not to wait up." he smiled at your arrival, getting up and grabbing your hands, guiding you to the bedroom. " I know but I wanted to fall asleep with you by my side."
you woke up to bright blue skies and birds chirping, noises emitting from the kitchen. you got up to the glorious sight of Jihoon in the kitchen cooking up something delicious by the smell of it. " get showered ill be done by then."
" you should really get your sleep talking under control." he smiled as you choked on your food. "did I do it again?
" he nodded softly, attention back on his plate. " something about old cold cases. you must've been stressed with your new one. It's been happening a lot lately." you gave him an apologetic smile before gulping at the water and kissing him and leaving.
you spent almost the whole day trying to crack down on the case before a call came in from the EMTs " we have a woman. must be in her early 20s. she was stabbed in the stomach and I think she might've been a victim in your serial killer case. there's a chance she might survive but I can't say anything." you shot up from your seat, noting the address and was shocked to find the attack occurred a mere 5 minutes away from a hospital, the hospital Jihoon happened to work. you rushed to the place and found the surgery still going on. half an hour later Jihoon walked out, shoulders slumped and shook his head. you fell onto the chairs n disappointment thinking of how the killer might have now another victim on his/her list. Jihoon rushed over to you. "I'm sorry, there was too much blood loss and the knife had pierced through vital organs. I'm sorry that she died because I couldn't save her and also for letting your one breakthrough in your case slip through my fingers." you realised that he had started sobbing and grabbed him, holding him close and assuring that it wasn't his fault.
your higher-ups and even your own team had advised you to stop obsessing over a case that had no clues whatsoever and move onto the many other cases piling up on your desk and you did so reluctantly and as a consequence, you found yourself seated at your dining table getting an earful from Jihoon as he stitched up a cut from a knife. you smiled at his pout and reached over, ruffling his head but quickly retracted and groaned as he purposely dressed up the wound a little more aggressively.
you sat at your desk the next morning and browsed through some case files and stretched, wincing as the stitches pulled at your skin. you shrugged off your jacket to inspect the wound when a sense of familiarity washed over you. you grabbed the serial killer case file and flipped through to the victims' autopsy photos; the familiarity bleeding into dread. the stitches on their chest were exactly the same down to the knot at the end. as you flipped over to their last known sites, small details that previously did not come to notice came into the light. the one person staring right at the camera in each picture, face covered beyond recognition with a cap and a mask. the one photo with his sleeve puller up and if you looked really closely you could just about make out the watch you bought him for his last birthday or the one where he was sitting on a bench, feet propped up showing the deep red shade of the couple shoes you had bought together, the ones that were on your feet currently. you slammed the case file shut, counting slowly to 10 to even out your breath and picked up the phone, typing in the number you had burned into memory. 3 rings later he picked up, small huffs on the other side as if he had just run. "where are you?" you sounded..happy and it shocked you. "at the hospital why?" your ears picked up the faint groaning of old metal and the clicks of metal locks swinging against each other. "just wanted to let you know id be late so you should sleep early." it took all your willpower to swallow the sob erupting in your throat. "I don't think I will but sure." he chuckled. you stood up wordlessly, slipping into a car and turning on the ignition, determined to stop him.
the moonlight was beautiful almost mocking you as you stood on the old rusty metal bridge where you both were sure to put a lock for each anniversary, 5 locks huddling close together, gun clutched tightly in your outstretched hands. the love of your life kneeled over the almost lifeless but definitely unconscious body of a woman looking at you, almost calculating your next move. he looked at you then the woman before digging the point of his knife into the neck of the woman and slashing sideways, blood seeping from the fresh wound. you dropped the gun and rushed forward pressing your hands against her neck to stop the flow of blood as he dropped the knife and stepped back leisurely. "oh sweetheart you shouldn't have come." he smiled almost innocently had it not been for the drops of blood on his face. "your sleep talk sure does annoy me but sometimes it's useful especially when I want to be creative with my hobby." he gestured at the woman. you let out a choked sob. "why?" you hated the way your voice broke. he dared to laugh. "why? why did I kill them? because I love the feeling I get. the rush when they beg for their lives as I plunge my knife into their chest. the fascination I get from =watching their heart desperately pump the last few drops of blood before I get bored and stitch it back up. before you ask I could've easily saved that girl you brought but I didn't and chose to sit back and watch as she struggled to take her last breaths." you tore your eyes away from him and focussed on the flowing water below, quickly moving and freezing on such a cold night. "you'll pay for what you've done, for the people you've killed." he scoffed "darling you're gonna have to catch me alive for that." saying so he leaned over the edge of the bridge and dropped into the waters below. that was where the paramedics and police officers you had called earlier found you, clutching the neck of the long-dead victim staring into the water.
~6 months later~
you walked into your apartment, finding it exceptionally cold. you thought back to the happy times you had shared in the place. you had gone to the funeral but without a body being found it felt more like a useless ceremony. you promised yourself you wouldn't let the particular case hinder your career but sometimes you found yourself falling onto your desk, biting onto the skin on the back of your hand to muffle the sobs as you had another breakdown.
as you thought about the past few months, you closed the window furrowing your eyebrows as you had no memory of opening it especially since it was the colder part of the year.
you looked into the mirror for a fleeting second and walked a few steps away before stopping and peering into the mirror again, your blood-chilling as you saw an all too familiar figure standing quite some distance behind you. "well, hello darling."
