Never has a director's work haunted me as much as Wong Kar Wai's.

If you're unfamiliar with his films, he makes some of the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful and deeply romantic pieces about love and loneliness. His 90s movies especially are absolute chaos mixed with the most gorgeously poetic dialogue that I think about all the time.
