Before January 2025:
If you are a USAmerican in a relationship that might be affected by legislation that dissolves same-sex marriages, who may no longer be recognized as next-of-kin, especially if you have children, get your rights in writing!
Your marriage certificate may not be enough to prove you have rights to make medical decisions for non-biological children or for a same-sex spouse or partner.
Go to a lawyer, get it spelled out as clearly as possible that you have a voice in emergency medical and legal situations.

Basic tips for moving to another country
Ok, here's some things to consider as you start looking at countries/visas:
Career/Degree
So, this is rough, but, most countries will prefer you to at least have a bachelors. If you don't have one it doesn't 100% close the door, but you will need to have skill training in a trade at the very least. The reality is when people from the US are looking to move to another country there's an expectation that you will have proof of education. If you are currently in high school/college you can get around this by studying abroad, but once you've graduated that's no longer an option.
Different countries are looking for different careers/skills. Make sure once you've picked a few to consider that you check the list of in demand jobs/skills. If you have what they're looking for immigration becomes far easier than if you have a job in a career where there is less of a need. Some common careers that often make this list include:
Healthcare (especially nurses and specialists)
Engineers
Programmers/IT
Teachers
Skilled trades such as construction/electrician
Truck Drivers (be warned you'd need a drivers license, and typically they want a good chunk of previous experience)
If your career isn't on that list don't worry right away, while these are common different countries have different needs. That being said I will say I've seen nurses on almost every single country's list, so if you complete a nursing program it becomes way easier to get a job anywhere, so long as it is a career you are comfortable in.
Language
You all knew this was coming. If English is your only language, you need to either choose a country where it is the official language/commonly spoken or begin learning a new language. I would advise not starting to learn until you've chosen a country however, but this is something to keep in mind.
Political/Cultural Considerations
Coming from the US, it's easy to view the rest of the world from that lens. However, we're pretty different from other parts of the world, and it's important to take that into consideration. For example, in some parts of the world you need to be extremely careful of what you post online/to social media, or you could face arrest. In some countries you need to be careful of the clothes you wear, and how revealing they are. Make sure to do your research first.
At the same time, it's important to approach with an open mind. Things will be different, but it doesn't have to be bad. Know what your dealbreakers are ahead of time, and choose a country that avoids them. Remember though that while you're moving to another country, you're technically a guest. It's not a great idea to immediately start protesting how things are done your first week in a new country. Do your research ahead of time so you can avoid being in a situation you don't feel safe/comfortable in. Because unless you become a citizen, you really can't do much to change things, and attempting to do so could get you into potential legal trouble depending on the country. We're used to being able to protest and complain as much as we like in the US, but that isn't the case in a large part of the world. So make sure you're being as diplomatic as you can be, and familiarize yourself with local laws/rules.
Additionally, if you are LGBTQ you need to look at which countries are safest for you. Some you will be fine in as long as you blend in/stay closeted, but others you could be in serious danger. I will do a more in depth post on which countries are the best/safest to move to in the future. But to start with do your research on any country and its policies. There's a difference between a country such as Canada which is fairly similar to the US, and a country like Japan where while gay marriage isn't legal they do recognize it if it's legal in your home country, and a country such as Saudi Arabia where it is criminalized.
Religion
Putting this separate. In the US we have all kinds of religions along with religious freedom. This is not the case everywhere, so research ahead of time. Foreigners may not necessarily be expected to convert to the dominant religion of a country, but depending on the country you may be expected to conform to it. Make sure you take that into consideration before selecting a country. And if you're religious and are thinking of converting people... just be aware not all countries are friendly to that, and many will not take that well.
Finances
You all knew this was coming too. It sucks, especially in this economy, but you will want at least some savings. Check the currency of the country you're choosing vs the US dollar, along with the cost of living. Here is a handy calculator, though some locations are not available: Cost of Living Calculator
If the US dollar is worth more in the country you're choosing, then even $5-10,000 can last you a while. Note that some countries will require you to have a minimum amount of money in savings in order to grant you a visa. Some countries will straight up hand you a visa if you pay them enough (I'll cover that in more depth in another post). There have been countries willing to sponsor people moving in the past, but unfortunately covid put many of those programs on hold or straight up removed.
This is by no means an exhaustive list, but this is a starting point for moving to another country.

Hey everyone
So unfortunately, we all saw the results last night. I had honestly thought it would go differently, I felt Harris's campaign did everything right and Trump's did everything wrong, but the results are in and unfortunately speak for themselves. As such, I will be posting over the next couple weeks specifics for different countries in terms of how to qualify along with things to consider (lgbtq acceptance, how women are treated, safety concerns, geopolitical concerns, economy, politics, religion, etc).
I wish things were different. And I know some people will say it is better to stay and fight, especially for those who cannot leave. I think it's important to do what is best for yourself and your families however. Not everyone is cut out to fight back, and it's ok if you aren't. If you and your partner are trying to raise kids, you should be putting them first. It's important to have empathy for others, but you should prioritize your well being first. If you're in a bad position, you won't be able to do anything to help others anyways. But if you get yourself to a safe stable position, you'll be in a much better position to give aid to others.
I don't want to make this too long, but I did want to put out if anyone else is interested in assisting with this project feel free to message me, along with if you are interested in a specific country and would like to hear info on it sooner feel free to reach out as well. If you're someone who has moved from the US to another country and have tips to share I'd love to have you here too.
Stay strong everyone. Take a deep breath, and focus on what you need to do, take it one step at a time.

about project 2025
to all americans: project 2025 is a plan created by an association of republicans for what they will do if they win office in the next presidential election. within 180 days of victory, they plan to turn the country around. they've written a book called mandate for leadership: the conservative promise detailing their plan. it is 900+ pages long. you can download a pdf online (i tried putting the link here but it won't work. just look up mandate for leadership pdf)
what they want: their republican president to do a deep clean of the government and, in essence, turn it into a conservative stronghold. they want to flood the government with republicans. (source) (source) what they will do with this power includes:
dismantle climate policy (source)
criminalize being lgbtq+ (source) (the entirety of promise #1 in the book is about this. you can read it)
nationwide abortion ban
basically getting rid of anything they don't like. see below
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
why this matters: a couple months ago, i would've thought they could never pull it off. but now, anti-lgbtq+ legislation has only been growing. and if you think you're safe in a blue state,
Tumblr media
you're not

Justin Horowitz at MMFA:
Project 2025 advisory board members have attacked or outright called for the end of no-fault divorce, the option to dissolve a marriage without having to prove wrongdoing by a partner. Research highlighted by CNN found “no-fault divorce correlates with a reduction in female suicides and a reduction in intimate partner violence,” including “an 8 to 16% decrease in female suicides after states enacted no-fault divorce laws.” Project 2025 is backed by a nearly-900 page policy book called Mandate for Leadership, which extensively outlines potential approaches to governance for the next Republican administration, including replacing federal employees with extremists and Trump loyalists and attacking LGBTQ rights, abortion, and contraception. The Heritage Foundation’s proposals have a track record of success — the first Trump administration implemented 64% of Mandate’s policy recommendations. Project 2025 is also supported by a coalition of over 100 conservative organizations, many of which have spent years promoting critiques of no-fault divorce as “destructive” for society — or even blaming it for enabling a “culture of death.” According to a Media Matters review, at least 22 Project 2025 advisory board members have made similar comments targeting, restricting, or eliminating no-fault divorce. Additionally, MAGA and far-right media figures have pushed for the removal of no-fault divorce laws across the country, and several local Republican parties in Texas, Nebraska, and Louisiana have called for the dissolution of no-fault divorce in some capacity.
Project 2025 partner organizations, including the American Family Association, Concerned Women for America, Family Research Council, and The Heritage Foundation, have called for significant restrictions or an outright ban on no-fault divorce.

USAmericans
Read the Project 2025 manifesto RIGHT NOW
It's MUCH worse than y'all have been hearing
There is so much here you'll have to look at it for yourself, but the climate policy alone is nightmare fuel.
The republican coalition wants to essentially end funding for green energy, dramatically promote and expand fossil fuel industries, and eliminate funding and regulations in all sectors promoting climate change mitigation. Task forces and offices related to clean energy and lowering carbon emissions will be eliminated and replaced with offices for promoting fossil fuels.
Tumblr media
They want to LOG NATIONAL FORESTS TO "THIN" THE TREES TO STOP WILDFIRES.
Tumblr media
THEY WANT TO FORCE OREGON AND CALIFORNIA TO LOG THEIR NATIONAL FORESTS AND TREAT THEM AS FOR TIMBER PRODUCTION
Tumblr media
There are specific provisions in Project 2025 to essentially destroy the Endangered Species Act, causing it to defer to the rights of "economic development" and "private property." The plan includes delisting gray wolves, cutting the budget so that a "triage" system is used to determine which species will get protection, removing funding for research, removing experts and specialists from the decision-making process, and preventing "experimental" populations of animals from being established.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is so much worse than I expected it to be and there's much more past that: They want to deregulate pesticides and remove much of the EPA's ability to regulate pollutants as well.
Also included in the manifesto is that we should
withdraw from nuclear weapons nonproliferation agreements, build more nuclear weapons, and resume nuclear weapons testing
Tumblr media
The manifesto comprehensively outlines the scorched-earth elimination of abortion access, down to ensuring doctors aren't even trained to perform abortions. There are plans in here to disrupt abortion access GLOBALLY, not just domestically.
Not only that, the Republicans plan on reframing family planning programs around "fertility awareness" and "holistic family planning."
Tumblr media
I can't even describe it all. I'm trying to give screenshots of the most important things but there's so much.
The foreign policy is a nightmare. They plan to push fossil fuels onto the Global South and promote the development of fossil fuel industry in the "developing world."
It is aggressive and antagonistic towards other nations, strongly pro-military, proposing that we INCREASE (!!!!!) defense spending, improve public opinion of the military and military recruitment, and increase the power to fund new weapons technology.
Just read the Department of Defense section. It's about greatly increasing and strengthening the military-industrial complex, collaborating more closely with weapons manufacturers, removing regulatory barriers to arming our allies and to inventing new military weapons, and recruiting more people into the military. They include provisions to develop AI technology for surveillance. And of course, continuing to support Israel is in there.
Elsewhere it proposes interfering in foreign countries with creepy pro-USA propaganda campaigns, even establishing international educational programs where faculty have to pledge to promote USA interests.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's a line in here about getting rid of PBS because SESAME STREET is LEFTIST for God's sake.
HOW are people claiming democrats have the same policies. I feel like i'm losing my mind.

I encourage everyone to not only be aware of Project 2025, but educate yourself on exactly what is — a nearly one thousand page document by Conservatives that describes the creation of an authoritarian state and dismantling of major necessary agencies (EPA, Department of Education, etc), as well as including a plan to remove those who hold high government seats and replace them with loyalists who have little to no experience in that field.
An estimated 41 million Gen Z teens will turn eighteen before this election. Please make sure you are registered to vote by November, and be sure to get to the polls on November 5th.

Hello everyone,
Project 2025 presents a danger to Americans in general if implemented, and will have a ripple effect on the rest of the world. One thing that discussions of this project have not brought up are the fact that for it to have been posted publicly it can mean one of three things.
It's a distraction from something else going on
It's a troll post
They're confident that they can make it happen regardless of if people try to stop it.
With the recent (as of July 5th, 2024) Supreme Court decisions it's pretty clear it's number 3. The authors don't care if people opposed to Project 2025 find out about it and try to do something. They don't believe we can do something to stop it.
This doesn't mean we should not try of course. As always, it's important to vote not just in federal/national elections but in local ones as well, and to do research on candidates first to understand who they are affiliated with/who may be dictating their actions from behind the scenes.
However, Project 2025 seems to be aiming for the long term. Should Biden win in 2024, chances are it will be renamed Project 2029, or Project 2033, etc. And again, the most important thing to do is keep voting against it.
Which brings us to this tumblr. The goal here is to provide people with a backup plan. If it succeeds many people's lives will be upended, and many people will risk losing their lives all together. As such, it's important to have a back up plan. This tumblr aims to provide people with the information they need to potentially relocate somewhere safe or otherwise protect themselves should the worst case scenario happen. This is not intended to be doomposting, but to give information people can use to make the best informed decisions they can to protect themselves and their families. We plan to strive to provide information as factually as we can. If in any post you notice incorrect/false information please let us know immediately so we can correct it. We do our best to fact check each post, but sadly sometimes things do slip past.
There is a lot of conflicting information online about topics such as immigration and how to legally protect yourself. We're a group of volunteers hoping to help. If you are interested in joining us to assist people, we are happy to have you.
