Just a Narinder. I guess this could be an outfit study??? Idk I've been seeing lots of Narinders in skirts and dresses and such and I'm here for it and the vibes are fantastic so I gave my Narinder one as well. He's goin fishing. Getting out of the cult and having a good chill time

I keep meaning to make another comic. Like I do want to make another comic at some point, maybe a Narilamb one but also it could be cool to maybe make some little comics about like, the Bishops and their family stuff that goes on after they join the cult??? Idk I'm kind of vaguely having thoughts. But also hi, I am in fact still alive I've just been freed from a stressful project so perhaps I'll be able to do some actual art now :P

Anyways. Have this Narinder, I wish I had more actual good art to share but hopefully there will be some of that soon, hope y'all are doin well and may something good happen for you today :D

Hey y'all I'm trying to cure my perfectionism and refresh my brain to make stuff generally so have some mid quality Leshycat doodles because I was thinking about them this week I also have some bonus thoughts about these two but I'm gonna put it under the cut so that this post doesn't become too long:

I don't remember what I talked about in my last Leshycat post, but I've had some more thoughts about them that I want to throw out there. First and foremost, Annamer is technically in charge of both the farm and the medicinal garden (which are technically two different things in my AU, since Kallamar is very particular about that stuff), and though they are mostly just... in charge of keeping the farmers / gardeners on task, they also just really like being in the dirt and actually doing stuff so they do a lot of personally working in the farms. If we're getting technical, Leshy is arguably a better gardener, given he has a few thousand years more of experience, but he eventually took a bartending job over the farming job because he wanted something fresh to do. Also he and Annamer had to be separated after they first entered their romantic relationship cuz they kept sneaking off during the workday to... snuggle. Let's go with that. I also feel strongly that they can both pick each other up, just because I think it's funny.

I do think previously I mentioned both Leshy and Annamer being grey / demi aroaces, thus Leshy is completely blindsided by his crush on Annamer since it's been so long since he's had one, which is the vibe I wanted to give off with the teensy little mini comic there. Idk how well it comes across but that's what I was going for lol

Tbh most of what I ended up doing with these was trying to solidify Annamer's design, I've been thinking for a while that the jester costume just... doesn't really vibe with the way I imagine them in the AU? So I wanted to give him some warm weather farming clothes.

Also tangentially related I wanted to change up the way I've been doing lineart lately, I feel like it was... better a year ago, and I wanted to try going back to that thicker / chunkier and more varied lineart I was doing previously, and honestly I'm here for it, I think it looks more interesting than what I've been doing lately, and it just feels more fun to draw, too.

Hey remember the comic that I teased like... an embarrassingly long time ago (the start of the month)?? I finally finished it. It's. It's done. Enjoy

I'm not gonna lie this one was kind of difficult to make?? Partly because the start of this year has just been really difficult in a lot of respects that I don't intend to discuss, but also because given the state of my sanity lately, actually finishing this was a fistfight at every turn. Mostly I think I've just been looking at it for too long, but there's a lot of like... big feelings going on in this one and I wanted it to read the way I intended. But, my own difficulties with this aside, I do have some actually comic- relevant stuff to say about it:

This is kind of supposed to be a sad follow up to the wedding comic, as Julon, the Disciple being taken to paradise is, in fact, one of the characters whose wedding was depicted. They lived a good life, and were probably around for a couple hundred years, and their two children are adults by the time they die. Julon also wanted to be left in the afterlife in the event of their death- I imagine the Disciples get to choose whether they come back or not- and they do have a sister waiting for them in the great beyond. I considered making a comic prior to this about how they actually die, but I couldn't figure out how I wanted it to go (in my save that they're based on, they died on missionary, but in the AU, they are murdered, either by a dissenter or a spy) I never quite figured that out, hence why I didn't make that.

Also, in my AU, Narinder is Lambert's... tether to the living world, if that makes sense. My Lambert tends to get a little disconnected from reality at times, and for a while would spend longer and longer chunks of time in Purgatory, partly because they found it more and more difficult to come back. That said, Narinder for a long time would have dreams of Purgatory, and sometimes, should Lambert be there during the day, would zone out for what felt like a long period of time only to snap back to reality and realize it's only been a couple of seconds, because a shred of his soul (particularly, the part of his soul that connected him to his crown) still resides in Purgatory after being there for so long. So when Lambert comes to him and expresses difficulty staying grounded in the living world after being in Purgatory, Narinder offers to be their tether, and keep them from being swept away in the currents of the afterlife. Hence why he is the one who pulls them back to the real world. I think I could've shown this better visually in this comic?? And it's worth noting that this is a kind of silly concept that I don't know I want to stick with long term, but... oh well. It's a thought I had that's now... I guess officially in the AU lol.

About the sketch requests... I'd like to know what it would be like if Narinder chose an outfit for the Lamb and vice versa (it doesn't have to be anything very detailed)

Hello hello!!! I'm so glad you like my AU, that makes me incredibly happy and I really appreciate that so much :D

For the sketch... I'll admit I spent a ton of time thinking about this. And it took a while for me to figure out what I wanted to do for this one, but here are the outfits I landed on:

(Don't look too closely at the eyes I'm still debating if they look good or not lmfao)

For Lambert's outfit... I think Narinder would want them to be comfortable first and foremost, but also kind of in some ways... like resemble his old death god robes. In my mind, he gave up those robes partly to renounce his old self, but also because he felt it wasn't befitting of him to be wearing such robes when he had lost his crown. Secretly, he wants Lambert to feel as though they are allowed to embrace their title as the god of death, and I think perhaps, if he was deciding what they would wear, he would want them to dress in something suitable of their title. That said, the cut is also quite different, and they're also wearing some cool flowy pants under there. I think Lambert would potentially actually like this outfit, but would struggle to feel good about wearing it largely because they don't feel comfortable with their title or position, but they would probably still like wearing it from time to time.

For Narinder's outfit, this is kind of what I envision Lambert picking for him. It's mostly just supposed to be similar to his earlier robes, particularly with the shirt he's wearing, but I also see Lambert wanting him to have a more like... overtly ceremonial robe kind of thing?? He's kind of already in semi-ceremonial robes anyways but I kind of think that was a matter of compromise?? I'll get more into those reasons in the rest of this paragraph. But I do think that if Narinder was to be given this outfit, he would wear it in this more like casual off-the-shoulder way, specifically because he doesn't want to be perceived as overly important anymore. Like he does love being Lambert's right hand and partner, and he loves the little bit of status and respect that goes along with that, but he also isn't super interested in being like, an Important Religious Figure among the cultists, so if he's handed Important Religious Robes he's gonna wear them casually even if it means wearing them like... that. But Lambert's not gonna argue, he'll wear what they picked for him however he wants lol

I hope this works for the request!! I rotated this idea for like. Hours and hours before coming up with anything that was actually good or interesting, because I'd never really thought about this before?? So this was very very interesting to sketch and I had a great time drawing this :D

That's an interesting one.... I can't see them doing karaoke in my main AU, but admittedly, I've been rotating the ghost of an extremely not-gonna-commit-to-it secondary AU that's in like a modern setting?? I don't have a lot on it but basically Lambert and Narinder meet because they're both in this group for adults who are wanting to make friends and the group like, goes out and does activities and stuff, and they're the only like, mid-twenties people in the group so they end up becoming friends (and eventually sliding into a QPR because it just... feels right for this alternate AU as well lol). Anyways, this seems like a setting where they'd definitely end up doing karaoke, so here's this:

Unfortunately for everybody, Lambert may be able to play instruments but they sure as hell can't sing. That's fine though, they're having a good time.

I've realized one of the things I've been like, finding irritating about my artstyle lately is that I feel like the way I've been drawing eyes has become kind of limiting, so... giving this a try. (Also because at some point I wanna try drawing the very boba eyes Narinder because it makes me so happy whenever I see it) but I'm trying new eyes. Anyways.

Small idea;

Yea that’s… kind of what I was going for with his like “future” design?? I want him to give off the vibe of like, he’s noticeably gained a bit of weight because he finally feels completely safe where he is, and now that he’s no longer in constant fight or flight he’s just doing better. I’m not entirely sure I articulated that super well last night in the post cuz I was writing that post at like 2 am and my brain no longer seems to be able to handle being awake that late, but that is the intent behind the design. I’m also not sure how well that comes off between my set of references, either?? I should probably put them next to each other and compare… but I guess that’s an indication that I need to practice drawing different stylized body types more, which is fair since it’s something I haven’t put a ton of effort into practicing for a while.

But anyways. Anon you were spot on with calling out what I intended to do but am not sure I articulated very well lol

Ok so I made some more refs for like, after many years of marriage Lambert and Narinder from my AU, it took a long time for me to get these to a point where I liked them but I have these loosely finished now?? Here's some thoughts about these:

For Lambert, I basically wanted them to look like they had put effort into being more presentable. Previously they seldom wore a shirt and didn't really bother putting too much effort into their appearance and dressed purely for function. I kind of figured that at some point, they'd make an effort to dress more presentably, in part because they kind of think if they look more confident maybe they'll feel more confident. Which turns out to be a viable strategy, evidently, at least for them. I also picture them growing out their wool, again for the sake of presenting in a way that makes them feel good.

For Narinder, I made a few changes, but I wanted his outfit to mostly resemble his previous one, save for the fact that he has longer sleeves now. The biggest difference is mostly the fact that I want to suggest that he's a bit healthier later into the AU- he's reached a better weight, and his fur has grown out quite a bit, and he no longer feels shame for his scars and stuff. I also gave him a kind of like... Howl-esque coat look?? I don't think I ever posted this doodle, but I dressed my Narilamb as Howl and Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle for Halloween, not for any real reason, but I loved how Narinder looked in the coat, so I kind of borrowed that silhouette for this design lol. Also the crown was Calcifer I guess?? Idk, it kind of makes sense but kind of doesn't. But anyways, here's that doodle-

But yea. At some point I think it would be neat to make "future" designs for the Bishops and Goat as well, but we'll see how things go. But I wanted to post these now that they're kind of sort of done.

That said, please enjoy these silly little designs because idk when I'm gonna get to making more comics of this AU again but hey I'm just having a good time over here making mediocre sketches lol

34: Is your lamb quick or slow to trust others?

That kind of depends…??  They really like to have evidence that someone can be trusted before they put trust into anybody, generally, but it is situational.  They trust their Disciples with their specific roles in the cult, for instance.  But when it comes to more personal matters, it takes a long time for Lambert to become comfortable sharing that kind of stuff, to the point that even Narinder doesn’t know everything, even after they make their partnership vows.  So it is kind of… case by case, I guess, but generally as long as they feel like they have evidence that someone can be trusted, then they will be.

35: If your lamb could pick a cult job other than leader what would it be?

This is an interesting one, that I’d never really thought about before.  I think they would want to be a missionary??  My lamb really enjoys crusades, or even just jaunts where they can leave the cult, particularly ones with Narinder after he is no longer in Purgatory, in part because they struggle to handle the pressure of being a cult leader.  They like being able to step away for a while.  So in theory, they would probably want to be a missionary.  That said- them wanting to take a job to get them away from the cult is technically dependent on them being leader in the first place, and in a timeline where they were never running the cult, I could see them wanting to be a gardener or work in records (like maintaining the library, writing down accounts of stuff that happens, that kind of thing).
