DELICIOUS vegetarian Indian food at Branto restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. This place is AMAZING. Tap got a pancake and I got spinach with cheese that tasted like heaven, and then when I tried the sauces with it, it tasted like double heaven. I might become a vegetarian after that meal.

Candy, Bakeries, Giant Boxes of "Feelings" Brand Chocolate so You Can Eat Your Feelings
In Hong Kong, there are a lot of bakeries. A LOT of bakeries. Really cheap, fresh baked, on every corner. And they look beautiful. Also, there's a lot of candy and candy stores, ESPECIALLY around New Year and Valentines. I saw the huge boxes of "Feelings" and had to take a picture.

Hong Kong Dry Market
In Hong Kong there are "Dry Markets," where dried goods like dried fruit, mushrooms, and fish can be purchased, and "Wet Markets," where fresh versions can be found. Today we went to a wet market and I took tons of pictures, so I'll be posting that soon. But for now, here's one of the dried food stores! The first picture is dried fish. Mmm!

Bead Street & Button Street, Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong
Hong Kong, especially Sham Shui Po, is a prime location for crafty people of all kinds- which is lucky because SCAD Hong Kong is in the heart of Sham Shui Po. These are some photos from me & Tap's trip to "Bead Street" and "Button Street"(they have Chinese names but those are the local names for them), aptly named because that is exactly what is sold on those streets. Shops and shops and shops full of buttons and beads, thousands of varieties to choose from.

Sorry for laziness!
Hey everyone! Sorry we haven't been posting for a while, midterms hit us and then there was the Lunar New Year, and so we were quite busy. But mostly lazy.. There really isn't much of an excuse, lol. I'm just really bad at social network stuff. Anyways, we're getting back on track, promise!

So you know you're in Hong Kong when the picture on the left (McDonalds basic Latte) cost more than on the right (that meal came with 2 dumplings too btw)

So last weekend we went to Central, which was the center of the colonial power and influence in Hong Kong. It was great! Although the prices were closer to the States and therefore a bit painful... In fact it was surprisingly western. The most English I've seen since I've been here, haha, most of the signs didn't even have Cantonese.
And lunch was AMAZING! We went to an organic vegan wrap joint known as Mana! which also served gluten free. Surprisingly cheap at $80 HK a wrap (about $11.50 US) considering the price of organic gluten free places in the States. And I'll be honest, I'm a bit predisposed to expect vegan hand food to be a bit bland, not to mention in undersized portions for the price. But lunch was just.. Delicious. And we left stuffed!! Good thing too cuz we had a lot of walking ahead, haha.
There is a free walk-in zoo in central that my roommate suggested us visiting, so we did. It was nice. We even saw a Raccoon! Who would believe it!! (lol)
It was a great trip, unfortunately we didn't take enough pictures on our first trip, but we'll remedy that on a later date. Promise.

Adventures so far! I have to catch the bus for class in 30 minutes, so I decided to just dump a bunch of pics so that I at least got something up for people to see. They aren't in any particular order. Be sure and read the captions. Enjoy!
