The met gala this year was like that difficult test that even the smart kid (Rihanna) fails at. It was so disappointing.
Lil Nas X hurt my soul. He had a chance to tap into black queer history in America. Even his former cowboy aesthetic could have done this really well. I've read articles that show the old west was gayer and blacker than we think.
These people have the resources to do research and come up with relevant, stylish, theme appropriate looks but we got the usual meh fare.
