Knitted in a colour scheme that is synonymous with the '70s (green, brown and orange), doing the dishes will never be dull again.

I have been busy creating and neglecting the social media accounts in the process.
Now catching up and making a start with sharing one of the recent weekly swatches - producing this swatch of the Cascading Leaves Knit Stitch is a return to traditional, dainty lace knitting.
This stitch is worked on a multiple of 10 plus 1 stitches over 16 rows. All wrong side rows are purled throughout, allowing for a modicum of relaxation working this stitch.
The stitch pattern is available via my blog.

Free Knitting Pattern Alert
My free knitting pattern for the rune-inspired Jera Lace and Cable Choker is finished and the written pattern is now available on the blog.
Tumblr media
The design has been inspired by the Jera Rune, the 12th rune from the Elder Futhark.
Jera symbolises connection and perpetual movement, the recurring seasons and the natural cycle.

Time for uninterrupted stripes and seamless knitting in the round. The No Heel Turn Sock Pattern is finally written up. (Please excuse the makeshift cardboard sock blockers...)
This sock knitting pattern does not require to work a heel-flap and there is no need to pick up stitches.
The heel in this pattern is created simply by working increases, followed by an equal number of decreases.
Tumblr media
If you are able to knit on double-pointed needles in the round, you are confident to work k2tog and ssk decreases, and you have toyed with the idea of getting into sock knitting, this pattern will be a beginner-friendly entry into the wonderful world of top-down vanilla socks.
The free pattern is available via my main blog.

Time for a traditional lace knit stitch, the Trellis Knit Stitch.
Tumblr media
Overall, it's a beginner-friendly lace knit stitch, but it calls for purling two stitches together through the back loop (p2togtbl) on rows 2 and 6 of the stitch pattern, which can be a bit of a pain...
The pattern for this stitch is now available via the blog.

Meet Fig (black cat), aka Figgy, the Figlet, and Schnitzel, aka the Schnitzler, (tuxedo kitty).
They visited our back garden as stray / feral kittens with their mum and siblings back in August 2022 for the first time, clearly foraging for food.
Tumblr media
We adopted Figgy and Schnitzel and they have now been living with us and the resident cats for the past six months.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pretzel, our youngest resident ginger tomcat (pictured below), turned out to be a professional kitten minder.
Tumblr media
Pretzel instantly got on with the kittens.
In fact, he couldn't wait to start interacting with them and tried to break into the room where they were held in 'quarantine' after we initially took them in.
More on trapping Figgy, Schnitzler, their siblings and mum and integrating the feral brothers is available via the blog.

I am finally following up with the stitch pattern for the right-slanting Turkish Rib Stitch.聽
The Turkish Rib Stitch creates a rich diagonal rib texture and, depending how stretched the fabric is, almost gives the impression of lace openwork.
The stitch requires a multiple of two plus two stitches and is knitted over four rows, excluding the set-up row.聽
