New perk: Consultation with a literary agent!
When you make a donation to the fall fundraising campaign, you help Clarion West's efforts to support the next generation of writers with scholarships and low-cost, accessible, and inclusive programs!
Take a look through the campaign page to find signed books, experiences, and opportunities to talk to published authors.
Today's featured perk is an opportunity to meet 1:1 with Jennie Goloboy from the Donald Maass Literary Agency. Ask her all your burning questions about finding and working with an agent. With a PhD in the History of American Civilization from Harvard and two published books, including her novel, Obviously Aliens, Jennie can offer some great advice on query letters and more!
Clarion West is committed to providing scholarships covering full and partial tuition for the Six-Week Workshop; discounts to reduce the cost for online classes; and free events and programs for our community.

Applications for the Clarion West Six-Week Summer Workshop are open!
June 19 – July 29, 2016
The Clarion West summer six-week workshop, focused on short speculative fiction, is one of the premier workshops of its kind. Based in Seattle, Washington, it’s a six-week boot camp for fiction writers in which the students acquire new writing techniques, employ advanced critique methods, and learn about the business of being a professional writer. It is six weeks of eating, sleeping, dreaming, and living story with a cohort of 17 other writers. It’s an incredible challenge and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
This year’s instructors are:
Paul Park
Stephen Graham Jones
Elizabeth Bear
N.K. Jemisin
Sheila Williams
Geoff Ryman
If you’re up for the challenge (and you will be at least 21 years old by the time the workshop begins), you can find out more about the workshop, read the FAQ, or apply. The application fee is discounted to $30 until February 10, 2016 ($50 after 2/10).
