PPE can also mean PUBLIC Protection Equipment. A, hopefully, humorous reminder from Helen and Deneve to wear a mask when you are out and about not for your safety but that of those around you. Sorry but there will be a bit of a rant here. Working in an ambulance in the United States at this present time I am, obviously, dealing with a lot being basically the frontline of the frontline workers. Most recently, however, what has gotten truly aggravating is how many disregard and even fight against the prevailing medical advice to wear a mask when going out, practice social distancing, and stay home unless absolutely necessary, even among my fellow healthcare professionals. I already know some here will leap to call me a "liberal" or something similar but that is a major part of what is pissing me off: that this public health issue has been made a political issue. I hold BOTH sides at fault here, all more focused on using the pandemic to score political points against each other rather than working at resolving the issue thus making my job harder for the foreseeable future. These best practices have shown positive impacts in other countries and are very simple to follow, so please just wear you damned mask. Sorry about the rant, I had to get that out of my system.
