I know they've already begun shooting Venom 3, but us it too much to ask they resurrect Cletus and Frances AND bring in Knull for a family feud? I can't think of a more batshit conclusion to this trilogy than kicking Symbiote Grandaddy's ass back into a black hole. Us it really too much to ask?

At long last, I got around to pirating reading Carnage (2023) #1.

Carnage is back in NYC, baby! And they just gave birth to a Cletus Kasady! And he’s taking this newborn to a diner to feed him!

I swear, while I was reading this scene I asked myself: Was this written by a woman?

The answer is yes, this was indeed written by a woman. And I only guessed that because I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right it reads like something I would write if I could unlock the power of editing.

Insomniac Games didn't even bother, so I'm making her from scratch.

Frances: Are you decent?

Cletus: Morally, no. But I'm wearing pants if that's what you're asking.

Frances: Pants as in actual pants or pants as in alien fungal infection monster?

Cletus: ...Actual pants this time.

Carnage: I can hear you, you know.

Frances: Oh, we know.

Do you ever think about how Carnage wanted babies, Frances also wanted them, making Cletus realize he wanted them as well? Do you ever think about how Carnage was down to reproduce the old-fashioned human way, immediately christening the three of them The Unholy Trinity? Do you ever think about what we could've had?

I keep rewatching playthroughs of The Flame missions in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and keep coming to the same conclusion: Insomniac's Cletus Kasady is a true prophet who happens to use his gift to destroy humanity instead of saving it.

I may or may not end up making a big, fat, rambing post breaking down each piece of evidence I spotted, which would indeed be something only I would ever want to read.

What if…?

What if Frances Barrison is already in Cletus Kasady’s life, and she has been shot in the head before the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2? What if he is stealing the symbiote for her? What if he’s just as much of hypocrite as he is in the comics l, and Frances has not proven herself worthy by being wounded? What if that matters less to him than keeping her alive and by his side?

What if the symbiote bonds with Frances instead of Cletus?
