Beaver's Pub And Grill
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today, I went to an american pub at Liang Seah Street called "Beavers Pub And Grill". The moment I stepped into the place, I was really pleased with the atmosphere. I liked how the place was not having shining bright lights everywhere but rather sections of warm dimmed lights to keep the restaurant running. It gives the whole place a really classy feel. They even have a pool table at the side for people to enjoy a game or two of pool.
I ordered their Beaver's Specialty "Chicken with melted cheese and bacon". I'm a cheese lover therefore the dish really suited my taste. I liked how the melted cheese blended well with the Bacon and chicken though I did find the bacon a little too dry and the sides were a little under-cooked. The portion is just nice for me though I thought people with bigger appetite would find the portion insufficient.
I also ordered the mozzarella cheese sticks as the sides at it was really yummy. The cheese sticks were served hot and with every bite, the crispy flour skin was flavourful followed by the melted mozzarella cheese that oozes into your mouth. Dipping your mozzarella chesse sticks with some mayonnaise would enhance the taste for someone with a stronger taste bud.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience at the "Beaver's Pub And Grill". The soft ballad music played was definitely a bonus to adding a little more class to the environment. Definitely a place I would recommend you to visit and chill out with your friends!

A Trip To Kungfu Paradise
Tumblr media
I went to a restaurant called Kungfu Paradise at Jcube after being attracted to its very cute mascot. I ordered their Noodles with chicken sausages. The noodles are rather dry but the sausages tasted rather good. The egg was well cooked too which adds a subtle taste to the dish making it a rather exquisite dish. Overall, I think the dish was rather good just that the noodles were a little too dry for my liking.
I also think that the price of the dish was a little too overpriced for an "instant noodle" looking dish whereby in my opinion it was not worth the money. However the wedges that i ordered alongside the meal as my appetizer was delicious and I would rate it 3.5/5
However, the service provided by the staff was more than what I had expected. The staff that served us was very friendly and helpful as he attended to our needs at all times throughout our dining experience there. Even though the restaurant was lacking in certain areas I think the restaurant's customer service was very satisfying and further improvements can be made to enhance their reputation.

Creamy and Crispy
Tumblr media
I went to Pizza Hut at Causeway Point today to try out the Carbonara. Well the carbonara was really unexpected, it was really creamy which was rather up to my expectations but the ham wasn't really as good as I have expected. It tasted rather dry and salty but overall, the Carbonara was still acceptable and recommended.
The ambiance of the restaurant was rather noisy as it was during peak hours where there were lots of working adults dining in there. The music played ranges from R&B to Jazz in which it enhances my dining experience with my friends. However, I think the service standard that was given has dropped since the last time I visited the restaurant as they had mixed up our order and the service was rather slow. The queue had started to grow in which it reduces the efficiency and productivity of the staff as they were unable to handle the situation.
All in all, the food made up for the poor customer service and it's definitely still a family-friendly restaurant that one should visit.

My 2014 Open House Experience
I went to the open house this year and I was blown away by how grand it is. I did not attend the SP Open House before my admission into the course. I never knew how SP open house actually worked. I thought it was just booths set up by the different schools to introduce the courses but it is actually more than that.
Tumblr media
There was a stage set up at the skateboarding area and performances were put up by the different CCAs, like the SP Vocal talents, to entertain the visitors. Other than course booths being set up, there were also CCA booths being set up to introduce the different CCAs to the prospective Poly Students.
Tumblr media
Sponsors like Gatsby also set up their booths to promote their product while at the same time attract students into SP.
Tumblr media
There are goodie bags being given out in the college and they are the main point of attraction of the Open House surprisingly. I am amazed by their systematic approach to ensure that everyone is only entitled to one goodie bag to prevent shortages and wastage.
Tumblr media
CASS set up a mini stage to provide a platform for SP Students to display their talent during the Open House. They even establish a photo booth set up let visitors have their photo taken as a souvenir.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was taken aback by the thoughtfulness of CASS where they even took the effort to set up a first aid booth to attend to students whom may have unfortunately hurt themselves during the Open House.
Tumblr media
All in all, it was an eye opening experience for someone like who me did not get the chance to attend any Open House before.

Since you believe Coffee Bean has nicer drinks, why, in your opinion, is Starbucks still more popular?
In my opinion, it is because Starbucks was established earlier therefore they have earned a significant amount of brand loyalty from regular customers. The ambiance is also better at Starbucks such that it is convenient for people to sit down and chat for a long time. All in all, i think the branding of Starbucks is well thought through that's why they have a better reputation now.

My Second Korean Food Story
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So my love for Korean food didn't just stop at Kim Dae Mun's Korean Cuisine store and this time, I hopped into a Korean Restaurant at Plaza Sing shopping centre's basement called "Manna Story". It's my second time visiting the store actually and previously, I tried their "Sundubu Jiggae" in which i've already done a review on the "Sundubu Jiggae" at Kim Dae Mun's already. I decided to try something different at this restaurant instead so as to show you guys the different varieties of cuisine in the Korean food culture.
At Manna Story, I ordered their famous rice cake dish for two and shared it with my friend. You get to choose the sauces you want for your rice cakes and I chose the Sweet Chilli Sauce (Really spicy). They will recommend you add-ons so that you can have a more filling meal so I added Ramyun noodles for mine.
Before the rice cakes were served, there were four side dishes served for us. The kimchi was a little disappointing and i thought Kim Dae Mun's kimchi was nicer and the vegetable was sweeter however, i do like the anchovies at Manna Story though.
The rice cakes were finally served and it was overall a great dish just that it was a little too spicy. The rice cakes were well cooked and they were chewy, soft and flavourful. The Ramyun added a punch to the whole dish and it was definitely more filling. Each plate of rice cakes with ramyun is for a pax of two so do remember to share it with someone when you're ordering their rice cakes. It's approximately $18 for the plate of rice cakes alongside with the four side dishes. If you're in need of a quick fix on your cravings for Korean food, then i'll reccomend Manna Story to you guys.

Ching Chong Cuisine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At times, I like pampering myself at nice restaurants after a bad week. Dinner at Din Tai Fung last week definitely cheered me up. I'm not really a big fan of chinese food but I must say Din Tai Feng serves really nice chinese food. I had the Noodle with Minced Pork  in Bean Sauce and some of their famous Xiao Long Bao (Steamed Dumplings).
The Noodle with Minced Pork in Bean Sauce was great. The minced pork and bits of tofu went well with the black sauce and when mixed with the handmade noodles, it tasted fantastic. I like how the noodles had a chewy texture to it, making you want more after each mouthful. The serving is quite huge too so it'll definitely be enough for big-appetites.
Next, I tried their famous "Xiao Long Bao" (Steamed Dumplings). To be honest, I was a little disappointed with their Steamed Dumplings that day. I  feel that the skin of the Dumplings were a little hard and the filling was a little too cold. I guess it's because of the crowd that the dumplings were made in a hurry therefore not meeting its standard. Though the dumplings were not as good, the Noodle with Minced Pork in Bean Sauce did made up for it. If you're craving for some good chinese food, do visit Din Tai Fung and pamper yourself! The price is a little high though.

Base on your blog/tumblr, Sushi express would be one of the best sushi outlet in singapore. But with $1.50 per plate price, will it be worth for big appetite person?
Hi there! In my opinion, i feel that sushi in general can make one full very easily and the fact that sushi express serves mostly raw sashimi sushis, it's definitely worth for people with big appetite especially since you can get full from sashimis easily. Trust me, you would want to bring someone along because you won't be able to finish what you take. ;)

Coffee for dinner?
Tumblr media
It was a simple day out with my secondary school mates. We were desperately trying to find a store which is Halal and was also near our vicinity. Famished and tired, we just want to locate a store real quick and lucky enough for us, we found this store, the "Oldtown white coffee". Famous for its coffee but are we having coffee for our dinner? Of course not! The store is also famous for its food menu.
I tried the Signature Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun and I swear they have one of the best broth out there. I assume they used the prawn shells to slowly simmer the broth to the perfect degree of sweetness. The best part of the whole dish? You don't get frozen prawns!
I really hate how many stores are using frozen prawns as a replacement for their dishes nowadays but they never got the fact that there's a drastic difference in both. Anyway, the succulent prawns and tasty broth is worth the dish a try!
Oh, and we ordered a set of peanut butter thick toast alongside, it was fantastic. Thick fluffy bread with a few layers of their nutty, fragrant peanut butter, definitely another must try!
The outlet that I patronised was at:
Old Town White Coffee (JCube)
2 Jurong East Central 1 #01-19 JCube S609731
but there are a total of 12 outlets in total in which their addresses could be found at this page: http://search.insing.com/s/old%20town%20white%20coffee
Hop down to the one nearest to you and try out this fantastic store now!:)

DMC, A tough ride.
It wasn't my first choice to start off with so when I got the news that I was allocated to DMC, truth be told, I wasn't really happy. However, I still decided to give this course a shot and thought "hey, maybe it won't be that bad at all."
I attended the freshmen orientation camp and it was one of the best camp i've went to in terms of the activities planned. Experiences shared from seniors during the camp made me better understood the course too.
Surely, the course had taught be more things than I thought I was supposed to learn before entering the course. Modules like psychology didn't even cross my mind as part of the learning journey of a media and communications student. The versatility of the course would enable students to be equipped with a wider range of skills that are deemed to be extremely useful in the workforce.
Rather than being able to bond with the people around you as the primary attraction of the course like many others, for me, it's the values that I taught myself throughout the journey of the course that made me wowed at how the course has pushed me to become so much more resilient and observant.
For me, i've met good acquaintances throughout the course and had made a few good friends but other than that, I think i'm not really keen to mix around within the course. Definitely a good thing, it shows how you get so much more freedom in the course to mingle around. Whether you want or not, it's up to you. However, the large number of group works in the course is the only factor that forces you to work with different people but other than that, you don't really have to force yourself to get too friendly with people if you don't want to if you're the shy and reserved type.
Ever since I was younger, I would boot up video making softwares on my computer and start editing picture videos. At that point of time, i didn't know I had that much interest in video-editing. The reason why I even put DMC as a choice was because I thought i had really great interest in radio deejaying. It's seems to me now that I actually really liked Radio Deejaying as a hobby and not too much of a work prospect instead. However, I found my love for video-editing and production seemingly increase throughout my journey in DMC. I even wanted to picture myself working in a production line in the near future. It comes back to the versatility of the course again, that enabled me to more effectively narrow my skills down to what I feel that i'm more capable at.
All in all, it's been a really tough ride in DMC for me but It's a good training for me as I think that what I'm experiencing now in the course would definitely benefit me greatly in the workforce. If you want to push yourself to your limits and really discover the potential in you, then DMC is the course for you. (And you have to be super outgoing.)

Play Kitchen~
Tumblr media
^ (once again, the photo didn't do the food justice. It would have looked better on plate if I did not order a takeaway>_<)
Many celebrities like venturing into the business scene whether is it the clothing line or food. Ben Yeo, a famous actor/host in Singapore joined in the trend recently and had opened his own pasta store at Jurong Point Shopping centre called "Play Kitchen". Since I live in the area, I decided to  give it a try.
The menu includes Asian-inspired pasta items such as Smoked Duck Breast Penne ($7.90), Black Pepper Sirloin Aglio Oilio Spaghetti, and Sambal Belacan Grilled Fish Aglio Olio ($8.90).
I decided to give its Suckling Chicken Steak with Aglio Olio Spaghetti ($8.90) a try. the top of the chicken ski remaining ‘suckling-pig-like’ thin and crisp, while the bottom is juicy with a specially made black pepper sauce. However, I do find the pasta a little too dry despite the black pepper sauce. I do like the fact that they serve cherry tomatoes and basil leaves alongside the pasta in order for you to neutralise your tastebuds after the strong-flavoured meal.
It is definitely worth the try given that it is restaurant-quality pasta at food court price! Head down now to
Play Kitchen Jurong Point 1 Level 3 Kopitiam Food Court, Singapore 648886 Opening Hours: 11:00am – 11:00pm Daily
and give their pastas a try!

Bananas and Chocolate
Tumblr media
I love bananas and chocolates. Coffee Bean's Ice-blended banana chocolate is definitely the best of both world for me. The rich chocolate  blended with a banana taste fantastic on a hot and sunny day. I like mine topped with whipped cream and usually, they will very nicely put some chocolate sauce atop the whipped cream that would make the whole drink looks really good. The banana taste is not too strong thus it won't cover the taste of the chocolate drink as a whole.
Unlike Starbucks, I like how Coffee Bean's drinks are stronger and richer in the taste and even when the ice melt, you don't lose much of the taste of the drink. Definitely a must try, hop on down to Coffee Bean for a cup of Ice-Blended Banana chocolate drink now!:)

Sundubu Jiggae (Tofu Stew)
Tumblr media
As much as my love for Korean Pop, I absolutely love Korean food. Many would think of Korean barbeque when asked about Korean food however Korean food ranges far more than just grilling meats. Apparently, Koreans love soup-based food. They have a lot of famous stews that are commonly sold in restaurants, "Kimchi Jiggae (Kimchi stew), Doenjang Jiggae (Beanpaste Stew), Sundubu Jiggae (Tofu stew) and etc.
And today, i'll be introducing the "Sundubu Jiggae(Tofu Stew)" to all of you. The "Sundubu Jiggae" could be served spicy or non-spicy depending on your preference but trust me, it is better when it's spicy! The soft Tofu used are carefully sliced into small cubes and are very generously cooked with the soup, egg, clams and seaweed. It's amazing how all of the ingredients goes well together despite the simplicity. "Sundubu Jiggae(Tofu Stew)" are usually served alongside with a bowl of rice and kimchis. If you are looking for something filling on a cold, rainy day, this is definitely the right meal!
One place that sells really good "Sundubu Jiggae" is located inside a foodcourt just beside concorde hotel called "Kim Dae Mun Korean Food". The owner of the stall is a middle-aged Korean lady and therefore I guess that's the reason why their food are all so tasty because they would know how to make authentic korean dishes. Anyway, the shop is usually packed with a long queue during peak hours but their service is pretty fast so go down now to try out the store!:)

A hearty breakfast a day, keep those worries away
Tumblr media
Breakfast, it's very widely known as the most important meal of the day. A hearty breakfast could surprisingly make your day better, giving you a good amount of energy to function properly. Luckily living in Singapore, we are spoilt with so many breakfast choices that can lighten up our day.
Why not start off your day now with a set of the traditional Singapore breakfast, consisting of two soft boiled eggs and Kaya-butter toast? It's definitely a great energy boost, easy to make and absolutely delicious. Famous stores like Yakun sells really good soft-boiled eggs and kaya-buttered toast however sometimes, it can be a little over priced. Head down to Koufu instead, a set like what's shown in the above picture only cost $2.20 and you get a sumptuous breakfast for the day!
Tip 1: Dip your Kaya-Buttered toast in the soft boiled eggs and take a huge bite off your toast. There's definitely a reason why they come in a set because they go really well together.
Tip 2: Do not over stir your soft-boiled eggs, they can become too diluted and the rich taste of the egg could be lost!

Ice-Cream Prata~
Tumblr media
My group mates and I were lurking around Halton Road at Changi on a Sunday night trying to do some filming for our school project when we thought we really need a break after some unsuccessful attempts to shoot in the dark.
We decided to have our late dinner at a 24 hour coffeeshop down the road and as boring of a person as I am, I ordered a plate of Chicken Rice. Then one of my group mate wanted to have the ice-cream Prata as dessert and when he asked who wanted as well, I declined the offer because I honestly thought Pratas and Ice-creams won't go well together and I did not want to end my day with a tummy upset.
However after much persuasion from my group mates, i decided to chip in and get myself some ice-cream Prata. The thing about this ice cream Prata is, the whip cream at the top kind of ruined the taste for me because as much as i'm ok with whipped creams, I just have absolutely no idea why practically almost every kind of dessert needs to have it. However the Prata was the highlight for me since i was really amused at how they could actually fry it this thin and lightly had it wrapped around the three scoops of ice cream.
The ice cream's pretty much the kind of ice cream you find in tubs that comes in three different flavours, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry at the supermarket. All in all, it's worth trying if you've never had an ice cream Prata in your life before and that it's a great dessert to share with a group of friends.
The coffeeshop is located at "89.7 Supper Club".

Mac and Cheese Round 2~
Tumblr media
It's Mac and Cheese again and this time it's Swensens!! I've never tried the Mac and Cheese at Swensens before but after trying it for the first time today, I swear it would be one of the regular main course i'll order whenever i visit Swensens now.:) Your macaroni added with some mushrooms and carrots topped with all the cheesy goodness and cream sauce. Definitely a must try especially since the weather is pretty cold now.
Tumblr media
I tried their Milo Dinosaur float too, i never thought chocolate ice cream and ice milo would go so well together. A happy tummy, a great day at Swensens.:)
