Project 3-Proposal 3
This proposal will portray memory in a linear style. The end of university is much like the end of childhood/adolescence and the beginning of venturing into the "real world" and adulthood. I want this book to tell a story about the childhood/adolescence period of my life.
Images will be taken of objects and places that serve as memories of certain events or components of my life that have occurred and are of importance to my development. Some images will be taken up close, such as images of objects, while others will be taken from further away to capture a wider image, such as for photos that show some location.

Project 3-Proposal 2
This proposal is about the theme of home. What makes a home unique and what qualities make a home meaningful to its residents? When referring to my home, I often often have to clarify which home I'm talking about. Home can be my home that I stay in while at University and home can also be the home where I grew up in my hometown. While I consider both my homes, they have very distinct qualities.
Through this proposal, I will take contrasting images of my university home and my childhood home.

Project 3-Proposal 1
This proposal intertwines the themes of place and memory and explores the various means by which memories are sustained. Travelling is one of my favorite things to do. I find that exploring new places and experiencing new cultures is critical in understanding yourself and others. However, travelling is also fleeting. We visit places for a predetermined time before returning back to our home and routine. Oftentimes, we try to preserve the memories that we had in different places. Photos and trinkets that we bring back with us are often reminders of our previous experiences.
This project will focus on capturing significant objects from foreign countries that serve as pieces of memories. Items will be shot up close with plain backgrounds. This highlights the idea that the object itself should be potent enough to embody an experience without the use of any other visual cues.

Project 2-Final Statement
Young adults, generally ranging from ages 20-40, are in a liminal stage in life where they are transitioning from one phase to another. In this case, young adults are facing the challenges of growing up—dealing with additional responsibilities, jobs, financial burdens, etc., while wanting to maintain and enjoy their youth by exploring and having fun. Erik Erikson’s psychological stages of social development suggest that young adults struggle with the balance between isolation and intimacy. At this stage, individuals are often searching for meaningful relationships in their life while maintaining a sense of independence. As we struggle to develop substantial relationships with others, we often come face to face with feelings of failure and wanting to retreat back into the security and carefree nature of childhood. This project delves into the idea of an adult escaping the reality of growing up and returning to the lighthearted days of childhood.

Project 2, Proposal 3
Medical school is one of the toughest parts of becoming a doctor. In addition to being time consuming, the route to becoming a medical professional is physically and mentally draining. Hours are spent in the library worrying over the next board exam, preparing for your next presentation, rushing to clinical rotations, and getting ready for societies. The requirements are intense and during this period, you lose yourself and your identity to medicine.
Images will be shot of a medical student in the College of Medicine library, University Medical Center, etc. Subjects will be looking down or distraught while shadows are emphasized.

Project 2, Proposal 2
This second proposal will depict the inner child of an adult. As we grow older, we gain more responsibilities with school, payments, jobs, etc. Life will continue to move, whether you are ready or not. While we are rushed into growing up, a lot of us find that we are still kids.
Examples of what may be shot include an adult among childhood settings, playgrounds, carousels, balloons, toys, etc. Colors will be very vibrant to exhibit the bright and carefree nature of childhood.

Project 2, Proposal 1
This proposal explores the struggle of first generation Asian Americans. We often identify ourselves based on our age, gender, religion, ethnicity, and culture. However, Asian Americans often face the dilemma of this cultural split. How can we maintain the ideas of the culture that our family is familiar with while simultaneously acclimating ourselves with the culture that we are living in?
Images will be shot from a middle ranged distance--not too close that you lose the effects of the environment but also not so far that you lose the details of the person. The background and subject will be contrasting, where one will highlight Asian culture while the other highlights American culture. High contrast while editing will be used to further emphasize the distinction.

Project 1 Final Statement
This project focuses on the idea that scientific research and the laboratory setting act together as a utopia. In this case, utopia is something that is perfectly structured, precise, and sterile. Research requires that the tools and work area to be clean and bacteria free to ensure the accuracy of the experiments and the safety and purity of drugs that are created. Moreover, precision and structure are also crucial because there are very defined parameters that must be followed in order to obtain specific outcomes and credible results. The volume of reagent that you use or the exact rotations per minute that you spin your sample are critical in determining the success of science. The lab is where humans act as creators, tailoring every experiment to their needs, within the framework of a perfect utopian setting.
