It was the Magdalene who told them that Christ's teachings and messages don't end just because he died, that the kingdom of Heaven is what is here and now, that we are all Children of Humanity. No, Mary Magdalene doesn't exist in a vacuum without Jesus. He is a huge part of who she is and I respect him. But if he wanted me to worship him then it would have been he who appeared when I cried out. Except he didn't, but Mary did. She wasn't just a footnote in his story, she was her own woman with her own divine connection to God. And she holds as much of the Wisdom inside of her that he had, that is my belief. That they were partners, equals. He was her 'Rabboni', but She was also his Priestess, the one who anointed him and watched over his tomb. They shared their teachings and mystical experiences. Maybe they shared more than that but that's depending on how far one believes they were intimately connected.

So don't tell me that the Magdalene would be upset that I was venerating her more than Yeshua, when Yeshua would most likely be even more unhappy with you sidelining or flat out disrespecting his Companion for all these centuries. Because chances are I have a damn sight more love and respect for Yeshua, despite him not being my patron, than most Christians do for the Magdalene.
