Hi there! I hope this doesn’t come across in any bad way but I had a couple questions, if you’re willing to answer them!
So firstly, if you’ve had experiences with the fae, have they ever reacted negatively to your identity as one of them?
Secondly, do you have any book recommendations to research the fair folk?
hiii no worries!! happy to answer! ty for the question ^_^ and hmm, no I don't think I've had any non-physical fairy react negatively to me. At most I've had fairies consider me a bit of a novelty for existing in both realms at the same time. But usually its more of a "hey man hows it going" kind of response lol.
Granted most of the fae I interact with are usually connected to me in some way to begin with and within a space that is safe for me. (a sort of 'safety bubble' within faery) so any entity that did have a problem with me would probably just not interact. Or couldn't.
But I think incarnated/physical fae are pretty common so I can't imagine it being a particularly new or shocking concept to them haha. As for books hmm, a lot of my self discovery was inspired thru Brian Froud's Good Faery Bad Faery book, I also plan on reading more of his books on the topic once I can get my grabbers on them. I haven't finished it yet but I am also enjoying British Goblins by Wirt Sikes, it's an older book and more scholarly. U can find PDFs of it online (its available on Project Gutenberg). It's a great collection of oral traditions around fae from around wales. A lot of them are very entertaining and very insightful on the sheer diversity of fair folk in that region. And I have ancestry from Wales so it's extra special haha.
Thank you so much for your question!! I love answering them hehe

OKAY NONHUMAN QUESTION TIME - do any of y'all ever wish that others would name you instead of choosing your own name? There seems something inherently human in choosing a name to me; I've always wanted to have my name selected by other people as if I was an animal who would not consider that itself. Not even in a dog way; wild animals too receive names from humans, though of course domestic animals come immediately to mind.
Any other alterhumans wish that humans would give them names?

you do not have to justify yourself to anyone either <3

YALL. Holly Black has a list of resources she's used for writing her books on the fair folk. I'm OBSESSED. I love her work and world building. it's so true to the heart of faeries
