I want to know about startup cost, purchase cost, maintenance, and savings compared to a standard solar panel installation and run time. Maintenance is going to play a big part in the value of this thing; Consider that regular solar panels last 20-30 years on average, and they don’t move around.
This thing obviously has a few sensors to detect the light from the sun, specifically which angle to be at for maximum exposure. That involves motors, bearings, and other components integral to it’s operation. If something breaks, can you fix it? What will it cost for the manufacturer to come and fix it for you? Will you make more power/save more money since this thing uses it’s own power/battery power to move?
Cost effectiveness is necessary to facilitate this change from regular solar panels. Just because something is intricate and has a “wow” factor to it, doesn’t make it the right choice for future development of this technology.
DO NOT RUN YOUR KAWASAKI ENGINES WITH ONLY 1/2 A QUART OF OIL. YOU CAN AND WILL BREAK A ROD/BEND A ROD AND RUIN THE VALVE GUIDES IN THE HEAD WHEN IT OVERHEATS/RUNS DRY.
HUSTLER MADE A SHITTY DECISION TO USE METAL LOCKNUTS ON THEIR SPINDLES, RESULTING IN SOMETIMES CATASTROPHIC FAILURE.
Old International grain truck that I worked on two weeks ago. Missing on cylinders 3 and 5, found that the cap and rotor were corroded, and that the #5 cylinder plug got smashed by -something- when the engine over-revved. Carburetor screw had fallen out, and the butterfly plate opened waaaaay too far up. Ended up breaking the intake pushrod as well.
Old honda engine overheated terribly, melting the fan plastic to the heads. So what do we do? Get a brand new engine to mount on! Worked great, no problems on installation.
It’s a fucking annoyance-and-a-half to fix a coil on these Echo blowers. Had bad spark, so we pulled it off and re-seated the coil to make good contact. Worked for 10 minutes before it shut down. Re-disassembled the unit, installed a new coil, and the thing has worked great since.
This is our shop cat, Jonesy! She’s a real hard worker, finding the best spots to hang out in the shop while I work. A pure sweetheart. @wizardlypigoo knows her well, since I bombard him with pictures of her all the time. Stay tuned for more adventures of Jonesy!
The absoulte state of the valve cover gasket on this generator was laughable. The part isn't even offered as a replacement if the seal fails. Shame really; I ended up using gray gasket maker to fix it up, and now we have a free generator out of it!
MOTHERFUCKING SON OF A BITCH CUNT DICK JACKASS. Fucking love when this was installed in 2015, that dipshit Bill ran the FUCKING MAIN WIRE TO KEYED POWER WITHOUT USING A RELAY. AND YOU DON'T FUCKING GROUND IT TO A PAINTED SURFACE. DUMBASS.
