20 down, 10 to go
Wow! It has been an interesting 10 days since i last posted, so I will summarize:
By Day 10, I was so bored with the food. I was ready to quit this plan, but I was also proud of myself that I had made it a third of the way through. So, I stuck with it.
Day 14, I cheated and had a glass of wine during my hair appointment. It is my ritual, I don’t even need to be asked, my Sauvignon Blanc is awaiting my arrival. I didn’t even think about it. I felt so guilty
Day 20, I’m back in step. I feel much better. I might have cheated again, but I’m done with that. I had a great day & feel good. Lunch is packed for tomorrow, im in the office all day, I have my plan. I’m proud of myself.
Next, planning for the end of Whole30 ~ I’m excited!

Day #9 - I’m feeling different, but I still hate this
Well, I’m starting to see some differences in my body. I’m not as bloated. My abs are a bit more defined.
I have not weighed myself, but if I had to guess I think I have lost the extra pounds I gained after the holidays. That is one of my hardest hurdles. I will do really well for months, go somewhere, and then want easy (read: carb & sugar-filled food), and I backslide. I’m realizing this as I write that this is a habit to break ~ when I go on vacation, I need to order groceries to be delivered when I return. This way I have no excuse to eat the wrong foods & I’m set up to continue being successful with food & habits.

Whole 30 pulled pork & avocado, along with sautéed sweet potatoes. Yum, which is good, because I was so bored with the food. Yay!

Day 6 - Whole30 - f*** this
Today was hard, really hard.
Yesterday I wanted bread and pasta. The day before it was cheese. Today is a toss up between sugar & alcohol. But, I haven’t cheated & I’m proud of that accomplishment less than one week in.
I had my first meal from a restaurant today. And I really wanted to order food tonight for dinner, but I didn’t do that either. I ordered well at Seasons 52 ~ dry burger on lettuce bun with mushrooms.
I’m bored with the food already. I haven’t eaten this much meat, chicken, & fish in such a long time. It is definitely impacting my digestive system, but that is good ~ out with the bad, in with the good.
Im off to bed ... to dream of what I can’t eat ... 24 more days ... I can do this.

Day 4 #Whole30
Nasty headache ✅
Bitchy to others ✅
Cooked more in 4 days than in the last 4 years ✅
Made it through the weekend without cheating ✅
Despite the headache, I’m feeling pretty good. I’m not craving bread and sweets as much as I am craving cheese. Ugh... I’ve never wanted a string cheese more.
I’ve made it through most of the weekend and haven’t cheated once. I feel full and have had more energy than normal on a weekend. Usually, I just want to sit around and catch up on downtime missed during the week. This weekend, I found myself cleaning out cabinets and closets, rearranging stuff. I surprised myself.
I definitely need to work on the asking myself a question before I have a snack. This is to break the eating from boredom habit I know afflicts me. It is one of my worst. I’m working on it. Right now the question for me is “Am I hungry enough to eat scallops and mashed cauliflower?” If I’m not, I know I’m satisfying a craving, not eating to nourish my body.

First day of Whole 30
What did I get myself into? I planned ~ black coffee, no added sugar, no processed food. Little did I know ...
My head is pounding
I want to rip someone’s head off (doesn’t matter who)
I have gone to the bathroom more times than I can count
I’m told it will get worse from here. I apologize now to anyone who has to live through my bitchiness during the next month 😊
Today, I didn’t plan well for breakfast, but had homemade chicken salad for lunch with avocado. Delicious
I’m drinking a Green Goddess drink tonight, while I make more chicken salad in my crockpot. Anyone who knows me, knows that I do not like to cook chicken. In fact, I rarely eat it. But, this program has me cooking chicken on the first night. It’ll be worth it.
I hope to keep this blog up to track my progress this month. Only 29 days to go ...
