Just saw a post asking how tall people are and now I want to make it a poll. Apologies to people in the fringe height categories, you do not get specifics.
I had to consult a chart for this
#5'2#I see high shelves as a challenge#I don't care how high it is#I WILL get whatever it is I came for#even if I have to knock everything else off the shelf in the process#jk#sort of

Young Akai siblings:
Shuuichi: I think Mom mixed up our lunches today.
Shuuichi: *holds up note*
Note 1: “Have a good day.”
Shuukichi: Oh, that explains this.
Shuukichi: *holds up a second note*
Note 2: “Don’t even think about it, you little shit.”

I think the plot-relevant characters like Kogoro and Ran will find out the truth eventually. I feel like they’re tied in too deeply with everything going on with the BO not to learn who “Amuro” really is.
Masumi will definitely find out at one point or another. Shiho too, assuming she doesn’t already know he’s NPA, which tbh I can’t remember for sure if she does or not.
Other police officers like Megure, Sato, and Takagi might learn the truth, but they’re not as closely involved with anything related to Rei’s undercover work as the other characters I’ve mentioned, so it’s up in the air at this point.
Same goes for Sonoko; she and Ran are basically joined at the hip, so it’s not impossible that she’ll find out, but knowing Gosho he’ll probably just have Sonoko be down for the count with the flu or something when Ran learns who Amuro is.
The DB are either going to be left completely out of the loop or they’re somehow going to work out the truth against everyone else’s will. Never underestimate the power of a bunch of curious six-year-olds, especially ones that have been personally trained by Edogawa “I will break into your house tonight” Conan.
Azusa isn’t involved enough in anything related to Rei’s life outside of his undercover job at Poirot, so I don’t see her ever learning the truth unless he decides to tell her himself. And at the end of the day, Poirot is just a means to an end, so it’s highly unlikely that he would feel any sort of obligation to come clean to her.
Question about Amuro/Furuya

When Rei is finished with his undercover work with the Org and his 'Amuro Tooru' persona, how will he interact with others?
For example, if a passerby recognized him from Poirot, he would probably just play along in the quick interaction.
However, would he also keep up the same persona if he came across people he had heavy contact with such as Kogoro, Azusa, etc? Or would he come clean about being an undercover cop?
If it is the former, would he just avoid Beika in general when doing his police duties? The Amuro Tooru persona may be helpful to him in the future, so I could imagine the truth being limited to a 'need to know' basis.
I was just curious if anyone had any particular thoughts on this.

The real reason Akai and Jodie broke up:
Jodie, sharing a bed with Akai for the first time: Just so you know, I talk in my sleep sometimes.
Akai: That’s fine.
*later that night*
Jodie, talking in her sleep: The FitnessGram Pacer Test is a multi-stage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues.

In which Rei has a horrible chance encounter on his first day back at Poirot, and his shift does...not exactly go well.
Also, Haro steals some cheese from Akai.

i actually need to know people's thoughts on this because at least in my experience the answer to this has drastically changed since i was on tumblr in the 2010s and its driving me fucking insane
*im talking about fandom takes specifically. not someone being horribly evil about a real-life issue or or blatantly factually incorrect. literally just harmless fandom disagreements or differing interpretations of a text/character/etc.
#roasting in private chats is always a fun pastime#usually anyway#that being said pretty much all the bad takes for Rei are the same flavor#so at this point I just sigh and move on most of the time#if I’m particularly irritated I’ll write a vaguepost once in a while#but like#people are going to think what they’re going to think#honestly these days I just use my annoyance to motivate me into writing my fics#i am motivated by spite#which maybe isn’t the best source of inspiration but hey it works

Crack idea: instead of a barista, Rei goes undercover as Amuro Tooru, kindergarten teacher. The school receives many complaints from parents that the new teacher keeps telling them that the rainbow doesn’t have red in it.
