Prototype design for Danika "Nika" Day, protagonist of my omegaverse supernatural post apocalypse WIP Amaranth.

Nika is an Omega demon who was injured in the war that accidentally revealed the truth of the supernatural to humanity. While her wounds have healed on the surface, it'll take several hundred years for her to heal completely - and even for a demon, that's a long time. She can technically walk but not for long, not very far, and not without pain. Nika's new friends found the wheelchair and she's been trying to adapt since. It's not been easy, she treasures her independence and dislikes relying on others, but her warm feelings towards humanity smoothes things out. She's touched by fact her human friends are willing to help her even though she's a demon, and she'll do anything in her power to prove they've made the right decision... Even if that means clashing with angels once again.

3 ways to write instead of thinking about it

If you’re stuck in fantasizing over your scenes in your head, try these three methods to snap you out of it and actually get those words down on the page!

📅 Make a plan for your next chapter. Most of the time, the reason we procrastinate and resort to fantasising about our project instead of actually writing it is because we have no idea where it’s going. If you’re stuck at a certain chapter, plan out the next one first and then write it.

✍️ Join a productive writing club. What do I mean by productive? Well, there’s lots of groupchats and clubs out there that you can easily join, but only a handful of them are actually active and encourage you to write more. Make sure you don’t fall into another procrastination club.

⏲️ Try writing sprints. It’s a great method of writing where you set a timer for 15 or 20 minutes and then you write as many words as you can. Because you’ve got a timer running, it sets you up to focus and not get distracted as you would without this pressure. You can also do this with your writing buddies, for some added accountability.

A recent lawsuit is calling into question the very law that makes user-generated content possible on the internet and it’s going before a bunch of old people who have no idea how the internet works. If Section 230 gets repealed or modified, the internet as we know it will radically change forever. Content policing will be that much worse; and either the guidelines will be so restrictive it’ll squeeze the life out of their sites, or sites will close their doors all together by not being able to meet the moderation demand and not wanting to risk being liable. 

Unlike SOPA way back in the day, this one is quietly flying under everyone’s radar so there’s no big pushback like last time, so there is a very real possibility this goes down in the worst way possible. So Yeah Ya’ll may want to start saving your favorite content if you feel it’s going to go bye-bye

Slaying a dragon requires intelligence, skill, and iron nerves.

Taming one is more of a challenge.

The job should have been simple. Get in, slay the dragon, and end the hunting season with plenty of gold. But what you don't know can definitely hurt you.

Hui-Seun expects a simple hunt and a clean kill. Instead she finds an angry, ancient half-dragon bent on conquering her home. Held captive by her prey, the dragonslayer must think on her feet—first to keep a beast with delusions of monarchy from putting flame to the countryside, and then to get free.

You don't become a dragonslayer without an interest in dragons, though, and forced proximity makes for a lot of learning opportunities. As the days roll past and walls come down, Hui-Seun learns more about the mysterious, beautiful half-dragon keeping her chained to a wall... and discovers that he's not the beast she imagined.

But dragons and dragonslayers have always been linked by the flight of an arrow, and when others come to finish the job, Hui-Seun must choose where her loyalties lie—with the people she's sworn to protect, or the creature she desires.
