Abraham ♱ Some of My head Canons
♱ He chews the arms of his glasses and on pens
When he's stressed or thinking I like to imagine he's a thoughtful chewer? If that makes sense. Even if he doesn't think it's classy or "mature" enough for a grown man, he still does it in private because it helps him think when he's stuck on a complicated concept or just trying to relieve stress.
♱ He has books on books on books
Has enough of them to make even universities jealous, especially when he has as many degrees as he does. Though, he doesn't just read to get a diploma, he definitely reads for the sheer love of it.
Abraham strikes me as a bibliophile through and through.
♱ He bikes everywhere
If you gave him the option of using a carriage/trolly when the distance is walkable or bikeable, he will choose the bike. every. single. time.
His friends and collogues think him mad, but the bike calls to him and leg day is everyday.
♱ He kinda views vampires as odd and exotic animals
He really doesn't treat them as dangerous as they should be treated, unless someone else's life is at risk.
But, for the most part, he is very likely treating them like oversized cats that can do dark magic.
They hate water? ✅ They are active at night? ✅ They have a strong prey drive? ✅ Decimate local populations if uncontrolled? ✅ Eyes glow in the dark? ✅ Yup, sounds like a cat to him.
♱ He is strong. Like, concerningly strong.
This old man is jacked for a dude in his late fifties, he's built like a bear and can huck certain asylum administrators like a golf ball. The ease in which he can do bodily tasks is worrying for the average person, and they are definitely lucky that the man would rather use his brain and words over anything physical in an argument.
He pretends to be weak and frail for the comfort of others and wants to let people feel good for helping him, but also the "I'm a weak old man with glass bones and paper skin," act is amusing.

i will often roll my eyes at certain fanon things, but overall, in my opinion, what makes a “good” fandom is that you can get a bit silly with it, that it’s not always that serious. i see more and more people push back on things like aus and fics focused on background characters, etc., and even the sentiment of “if a person outside of the fandom enjoys your fic it means it’s a bad fic because it’s too generic”, which annoys the hell out of me. everyone being free to do their own thing is such an important part of fandom.
the thing too about people losing their shit because people wrote a fic about a minor character and embroider their backstory etc., and then saying “just make an oc!!” like??? what’s the difference then?? if it’s all gonna be “made up” anyway? why shouldn’t someone use a stand-in that already has a name and a place in the story, instead of making an oc with the same place and the same face but a different name? it’s just so stupid. same with “if you ever write an au that’s automatically different characters altogether, just make ocs instead” like god 🙄 maybe you don’t have the imagination required to figure out how characters and their stories and relationships would work out in an alternative setting but i do 🤷🏼♂️
and honestly. i don’t have a habit of reading outside of my fandoms but sometimes i’m looking for a specific trope and then i can enjoy a fic from a fandom i’m not in, even if it’s obvious that there are some things i’m not picking up on. that doesn’t reflect in any way on the quality of the fic or writer. saying a fic is automatically bad because ~an outsider~ enjoyed it is weird as hell.
what i liked about that sandcastle post was that it at least acknowledged that people had fun while doing it, and that there are some connections made in the moment that are lost later on and maybe they then seem very taken out of thin air, even if it originally had some reasoning behind it.
anyway. i’ve been in fandoms where the fanon annoys me but i’ve been able to carve out my own spot and do my thing, and i’ve been in fandoms filled with scrutiny and vagueposting the moment someone gets a bit silly with it, and you can guess which one is the more enjoyable experience.
