She/Her. 28. Polyamorous demi lesbian with ADHD. Agnostic. Aspiring snek woman. I love to write and I like to draw, but don't do either nearly often enough. - Lotta reblogs, some original content. Multifandom, but mostly Bionicle, Arknights, and Metroid focused at the moment, with other stuff scattered about in between. I don't tolerate conservatives, racists, or exclusionists. - I generally try to keep SFW, but no promises; similarly I tend to have unmarked spoilers for stuff; so tread with caution in both cases. - Eternal stan of hot problematic girlbosses. The more she's hated, the more I'll love her out of spite. - Slow to answer asks, but please ask me stuff regardless!

Trying to explain even one ounce of class/caste/ethnic/religious dynamics in South Asia to somebody completely removed from it is so humbling like sometimes I forget how cartoonishly insane all of it is. The racism factory that churns out new types of racisms

The City of Atlanta Georgia has decided to demolish the research and conservation center of the Amphibian Foundation. This organization works tirelessly to conserve the Frogs, Toads, Salamanders, Newts, and other amphibians in the United States. In addition, they provide key education for herpetologists on the care, conservation, and preservation of reptiles and amphibians.
This emergency need is compounded by the government mass firing of conservation officials and the pulling of funds from many of the country's conservation organizations.
If you can help please donate here:
Key points from the Amphibian Foundation.
Our building will be demolished in 2026, and we need to identify a new location (or locations) for 7 labs and over 1,000 animals, many of which are endangered and part of critical conservation programs.
We've identified a new location for most of AF, but not our research and conservation programs. We have an amazing lead, but it's not confirmed yet.
Our first fundraising project is the AF Emergency Fund as the minimum cost estimates to move this many labs and animals safely is $50,000. (It costs about 50 USD per animal to move them)
If you can't donate.. please share... here.. and everywhere else.

minor fandom gripe: when people make headcanons that say, “I headcanon this character as XYZ! I don’t know why, it just feels right.”
That always kind of gets my hackles up a little because. Why does it Just Feel Right. If you can’t articulate why it just feels right it makes me wonder what stereotypes make it just feel right.
Using queer headcanons as an example because I see them a lot:
“I headcanon this character as trans because he wears many layers and puffy vests, is unpopular and bullied at school for no evident reason, is conflicted and insecure about his masculinity, and his themes of hiding his true self from his parents because he’s afraid they won’t accept him resonate strongly with the trans experience” I’m totally there with you. “I headcanon this character as aromantic because she never has a love interest over the course of the series” makes sense and I support this! “I headcanon this character as asexual because he’s my favorite and I want him to be asexual” hell yeah. “I headcanon this character as nonbinary because I relate strongly to them in other ways and I am nonbinary” nice. “I headcanon this character as bisexual because he has a canon female love interest, but I want to ship him with his male friend instead” classic. All of these are common and normal reasons for such a headcanon.
“I headcanon him as asexual because it just feels right” hm. interesting. why. what about him Just Feels Right. Is it because he is quiet and introverted? Because he puts his work above any attempt to seek out a love interest? Because he’s disabled? Because he has a purple color scheme? Because he’s evil and you can’t imagine shipping him with anyone?
“I headcanon this character as trans! It just feels right!” Why? Because he’s smaller and skinnier than the other men in the cast? Because he’a sweet and friendly? Because he has a complicated relationship with masculinity in the story? Because he’s enthusiastically masculine in the story? Do you ship him as the bottom in a M/M ship? Is he paler and more emotional than the other man you ship him with?
Separating out why you have this headcanon, why does it just feel right, is it based on the specificities of the character, your own preferences, or just stereotypes, is good practice rather than saying you can’t explain something but it “just feels right!” Because I’ve seen several instances where I can’t tell if there’s anything beyond stereotypes beneath it.

Trump’s defunding of CPB means a massive loss to all local PBS and NPR public broadcasting stations. But based on their ability to get sponsorships, advertisers, other grants, private donations, state funding, and membership subscribers, some stations will end up hit a lot harder than others.
And some of the hardest hit stations, the ones who had been relying most heavily on this federal funding, are Native American and Indigenous Nations’ local stations. Radio stations in rural areas and on reservations can often be a really important source of locally relevant information—and publicly available media in Native languages.
Unfortunately, many Native American-serving public media stations listed on Adopt A Station don't have donation or support pages that I can find (KGHR - Greyhills Academy in the Navajo Nation in Arizona; KGVA - The Voice of the Aaniiih and Nakoda Nations in Montana; KSHI - The Voice of the A:shiwi in Zuni Pueblo, New Mexico; KCUW - Umatilla Reservation Community Radio in Oregon; KTNN - The Voice of the Navajo Nation broadcasting from Arizona; KUHB - The Voice of the Pribilofs in St. Paul, Alaska; KDSP - Sand Point in Alaska... if you can find any, let me know! And certainly if you're in the area, show them some support!)
But one that's actively running a fundraiser that could absolutely use more support is KUYI - Hopi Radio in Arizona. Broadcasting from the seat of the Hopi government in Kykotsmovi, KUYI includes local news from the Hopi reservation and programming in the Hopi language. They're also set to lose 60% of their funding with the CPB funds rescinded. Donate to support them here—they’re aiming to raise $25,000 for their 25th anniversary, and as of the time of this posting have raised $1,660.

You know that one scene in Atlantis: The Lost Empire, where Milo's in awe at this huge carved pillar and explaining how long it must have taken to be created; and then Vinny blows up the base so it falls over across a huge chasm, and retorts that it took him five minutes to make a bridge?
Samus is both of them.

It’s so funny to imagine Wicked from the perspective of one of the normal students at Shiz. There’s this girl and she’s weird and an overachieving nerd and no one likes her, but then the popular girl becomes best friends with her overnight so you guess she’s chill now. They might be sleeping together but no one’s really sure. They’re also low key dating the same guy but you’re not clear on if it’s a polycule situation or a love triangle. Whatever. You’re just trying to study for finals. Your history teacher gets arrested and no explains why. You just hope this won’t effect your grade in the class. The weird nerdy girl gets a letter from the president inviting her to come see him. Wow, that’s exciting. She and her maybe-girlfriend go off to the capitol and you go back to homework and dorm room parties. One day later one of your professors is on the national radio saying that the weird nerdy girl, who used to be her favorite student, is now a terrorist, has stolen the nuclear codes, and is on the run from the government. You are still expected to show up to class tomorrow.
