Been awhile since I posted anything....here's a shot of the moon I took a bit ago

You know what's sad? Despite everything that happened, I still love her. Even after all the accusations, cancelled dates or falling asleep during movie night. I'm not perfect, wasn't there emotionally as I should have been. Yet with everyone relying on me to keep a household afloat, I had to keep pushing for that goal: a place for just us. The string of messages saying "I miss you" or my favorite "you don't make time for me" clearly made me feel great. Even when I did say and show that loved and missed her, it wasn't enough. Worked myself into putting my back out and had to miss work. Which went back to me working longer to make up for missed days... Kept telling myself if we get this place, everything will be better and we won't be stressed or fighting as much.

Shy of 2 years, learned that she would tell people she doesn't see us together for much longer. When I would pick up how unhappy she was, I would say there's no need to stay if I'm making you that miserable. To which she say she doesn't want to leave and yada yada yada and would just fuel my resolve to push more towards the goal. Unfortunately things came to a head and we broke up. Rather I broke it off with so many texts and people coming forward showing and telling me what would go on while I worked myself to exhaustion.

Last time we talked, she told me how she had been in and out of the hospital because of our break up. Strangely enough, I finally gave in and went to the doctor myself for the same reason. Because I bottled things up and because it hurt so much, I put myself in a bad spot. So now I'm on medication for migraines and blood pressure.

I know, I know. It'll take time to get over her. But... I don't want to love her anymore. It hurts more than I care to admit. Though it eases a bit more each time I talk about it. So thanks to whoever comes across this let's me get this out. It's still a strange feeling: being the one people rely on for advice and other things but asking for help or a simple "hey, you doing okay?" Stoney expression aside, it means the world to me.

I loved the ending scene of Shazam!

This contains spoilers so don’t read this if you don’t want to be spoiled.

As I already mentioned, I loved the movie Shazam! One of the things that I really loved about it was the ending when Billy showed up at school in his superhero outfit at the end of the movie to make things up to Freddy. Now he could have just shown up on his own and that would have been enough to get all the kids at school off of Freddy’s back and make them believe that Freddy’s bffs with a superhero and that would have been great. What transported this scene into excellent though was bringing Superman into the mix. Clark was ostracized and bullied and constantly made fun of when he was a child and he couldn’t do anything about it. He couldn’t use his powers to get people to leave him alone or use his powers to beat up his bullies because he knew that that would have been an abuse of his powers and that would have probably drawn even more attention to himself.

Clark was lonely and isolated and there was not a damn thing he could do back then to improve his situation. Fast forward like 20+ years in the future and Clark is now Superman. He’s back from the dead, he’s the people’s hero, and he’s widely adored. He couldn’t do anything for that kid who was bullied all those years ago, but now?

 Now that he’s a well-known, well-respected and beloved superhero who’s mere presence will make all the difference in the world for one kid who’s been constantly ostracized, you’d better believe that that is something that Clark would do in a heartbeat. Billy could have just as easily asked Batman or Aquaman or Wonder Woman to show up at his school that day but he asked Superman to come and I have to believe that was a deliberate choice. I love that they brought this back full circle and it was not just some random (but cool) cameo. To conclude let me just say, I love Superman, I love Shazam and EVERYONE needs to go watch this movie ASAP.
