“Mhmm..” Her eyes went back down to the comic in her hand as he sat down, only able to finish the page she had been reading prior to him showing up at the table before he spoke again, “It’s alright I guess, not one of my favorite issues but it’s not terrible.”

Caught off guard by the girl’s sudden admission, Jason opened his mouth to say something, only to close it without a peep. His eyes trailed over the comic book in her hand before flicking his eyes back up at her. “Uh, yeah, sorry.” Plopping down in the seat, Jason pointed to the magazine. “How is it? I haven’t had a chance to organize a pull list for awhile.”

She raised her eyebrows as he looked down at her, shrugging her shoulders as she leaned back in her chair. “Well, there aren’t any other seats and you’re not the worst person who could sit down so go ahead.” She set the comic down and took a sip from the coffee sitting on the table in front of her. “What’s up, Gala?”

“Huh?” Owen asked softly, breaking from the trance he seemed to be in. For a moment he blinked, registering the fact that the other was addressing him. “Oh, sorry, I… Didn’t think you would want me to.” He gave a half-smile, noting it was the only open seat in the room, and he decided to sit himself down with another quick twitch of his lips.

I’m not down with the whole one song all day long but I can appreciate where you’re coming from I guess. But good choices, that’ll be $10.95. A small price to pay for the once greats of the 90s.

I do like catchy music. There’s nothing better than belting out the same song all day long. Alright, I’ll take them all. Then maybe you won’t have to see me for the next week.

Colleen sighed as she lifted her head from behind the comic book she was currently reading to look at the person standing by the empty chair at her table. “Well, are you going to sit down or just stare at it all day?”

Different is the mom way of saying weird. Kind of like special. 

Well my favorite is probably She Hulk, but it’s a fairly popular one so you probably know what it’s about.

I wouldn’t call it weird. It’s different. But not weird.

No, not like that. God, ew no. Their hair. They would bleach the tips of their hair. That’s what frosted tips are. Yeah, I know which is crazy that we’re having this one so you better take advantage of it. I still say you should get the two boy bands, they may be men but the songs are catchy as hell. 

Frosted tips? People put ice on their….what qualifies a tip exactly? Oh cool. I love deals. This town doesn’t have a lot of those, you know? Yeah, that sounds good. I’ll be back soon then. I’m excited. They’re both beautiful women. I’m sure their voices are lovely.

I don’t like them at all. Mean or otherwise. I know what you mean and like I said it’s fine. I’m not one of those needy girls. Spend all the time you have to with her to make her feel special or whatever, you know I’m fine on my own. Besides, from what I understand about friendships you have to work at them, so do what you have to do.

I thought you liked them mean. Hey… Colleen, I didn’t mean it like that. Rosie and I have just been thick as thieves since we were kids. She’s got a lot going on and she’s already feeling abandoned, even if she wont admit it. I don’t want her to think that I’m leaving her too, you know? Even though she didn’t invite me to her Vegas wedding. I want to spend lots of time with you, you have to know that.

Yea, pop was a thing. Still is. Back then it was Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera and the boy bands: N*Synch and The Backstreet Boys. Start there.
