It seemed like her duplicate could prove to be a usual asset in a plan to take down the Academy. But still, Hope seemed like a very intellectual person and shouldn't be underestimated. If a plan is to be compiled together, then it should be carefully crafted to the point where it's almost flawless.
"Indeed I'm fully aware of who is in charge, and I'm sure his friends would be a great weakness of his. If we can take care of them, then his resolve will surely shatter and break for us to control him."
It was that simple, isn't it?
Duplicate? (oforderandsadisticpleasures started following you)
It seems like Jihl was interacting with a paradox version of herself. But how was she able to exist for a further 500 years after the Fall? Of course if Estheim was able to do it then of course her counterpart was able to do the same.
“The Academy is under the leadership of someone that allows his personal feelings and emotions to get in the way of a long-term gain. Eventually their structure will weaken and shatter without solid leadership. I too despise the Academy, and I wouldn’t hesitate at the chance to take them down and create a new PSICOM…”
And with Estheim under her watchful eye, the people will have no choice but to live under her commands. It was all part of her long-term plan…

This was strange, it was like seeing her reflection except that there was no mirror. Surely this was no coincidence, there had be a possible explanation behind why there was all the sudden two of her. Either way, Jihl knew that she was the one that had to ask the question.
“I’m a little confused here, why is there all the sudden two of me? Are you from another time period?”

Jihl gave a small smirk at the mention of the l'Cie. Maybe her duplicate could be a useful ally in this world that had been scarred by the fall of Cocoon and the chaos from Valhalla. There shouldn't be any problems, in fact quite the opposite, since it's herself from another period and she knew that she wouldn't have to manipulate her.

"I remember the l'Cie quite well in fact, they were nothing but a pest that needed to be exterminated. I was stuck down by the fal'Cie before I had the chance to fight them and then ended up somewhere in the Void before waking up here. But I'm sure we can find the meaning behind this together. Just one thing, though...mind telling me where and when you came from?"

Looking over her own attire, Jihl couldn't see what the issue was. Yes, her uniform looked heavy and not suited to the warmer climate, but it wasn't getting to her. This was much more preferable than the armour that PSICOM foot-soldiers wore.
Jihl raised an amused eyebrow at the woman's hostility and gave a small smirk. This encounter certainly had the atmosphere of a confrontation she had a little while go, one that ended up involving gunfire and bloodshed.
"You might want to watch that tone of yours, you don't even know who you're dealing with."
The Lieutenant Colonel fixed up her glasses, pushing them up the bridge of her nose and once again concentrated her green gaze on the woman.
"Guess I better start the introductions. I'm Jihl Nabaat, Lieutenant Colonel of the military unit PSICOM. May I ask for your name?"
In the face of authority (Rubi + Jihl/Quistis)

Another day, another empty bottle of whiskey that goes flying out of Rubi’s house before being blown to bits whilst mid-air.
It was just another ordinary day for Rubi.
Resting in the bathtub that lay in full view of anyone who would be looking from outside, she shut her eyes and let the sun’s warm rays help her to relax. And she didn’t care that she was stark naked and at risk of being seen by anyone who were to approach her house. She always knew when someone was coming and so she was always decent for when they came into sight.
But today, she may have made a small miscalculation on that.
The sound of footsteps jolted Rubi out of her thoughts, much to her annoyance. Looking down, she noticed someone was approaching her house. A woman. Hopefully not a lesbian either, as Rubi didn’t quite fancy the idea of being perved on.
“Hey, wait there and let me get some clothes on, will ya?”
Getting out the bathtub and walking back into her home, she got changed into her usual clothes and walked back out onto the balcony, taking another bottle of whiskey with her. Leaning against the side of the wooden railing, she rolled her eyes at the somewhat professional appearance of the woman below her.
“You are slap bang in the middle of heat-haven. How are you not burning alive in those clothes? And on that note, couldn’t you have given me advance warning before turning up at my home, so that you didn’t have to see me stark-fucking-naked?”

colonelnabaat:
The PSICOM officer could do nothing but stand and watch as her army was getting wiped out. The last she saw was a bullet brushing past Aya's arm and heard her curse, then she transformed into something the likes that Jihl had never seen before. With that, Aya had launched off at inhuman speed, attacking the PSICOM soldiers.
'What the hell is going on?!' Jihl screamed in her mind.
"What are you doing, you incompetent fools?!" Nabaat roared at her declining army, feeling her control and composure slipping away.
What she couldn't understand was why everyone was falling around her, but still Jihl was standing there. Why wasn't Aya going after her? Desperation started to set in and she looked to the gun next to a dead soldier about a couple of meters from her position. She made a desperate dash towards the weapon, grabbing it mid-run, and made it into cover again.
Jihl was a stubborn woman, always had been. There was no way in hell that she was going to accept defeat.

colonelnabaat:
Jihl took cover nearby and saw a soldier go down. She cursed to herself and suddenly her eyes flared up. There was no way that she was going to allow Aya to get away with firing shots at her or her soldiers. In a furious rage, she threw her glasses on the ground, smashing them in the process.

‘Dammit, I refuse to lose control again…last time that got me killed because I failed to contain the situation. I…this is not going to happen!’
The PSICOM official saw Aya run to a wall nearby taking refuge. With a flick of her wrist, her saber extended to full length. She may not have a gun, but she sure as hell can fight well with AMP technology and her skills with the saber were unmatched. But still, she had soldiers at her disposal.
“Make it rain!” Jihl ordered her soldiers and suddenly a hail of gunfire aimed towards Aya.
The hail of gunfire was tightly packed. Aya had a chance.
Her response was immediate, her speed picking up as she attempted to run out of harm’s way. As the bullets were about to make their mark, Aya leapt to the side. She avoided most bullets, but one on the outer edge of the hail had torn through her top and scraped her arm, and she couldn’t keep the cursing in.
‘That is going to leave one hell of a mark in the morning. Goddammit that woman is already a thorn in my side!’
And yet, much as Aya now hated Nabaat, she wanted to keep some honour about her. So she knew exactly what she was going to do.
She was going to let her building anger take over her.
‘Don’t let me down now Maya. Not when I need you the most.’
Her sister didn’t fail her. Aya felt a feeling of freedom as she was lifted off the ground, her body twisting and changing as she Liberated. Once her transformation was complete, Aya darted around the corner at a speed that wasn’t human.
Her target: everyone but Nabaat. She was saving the latter for a particular reason. And she made that clear as she let out a flurry of attacks on the surrounding soldiers. For them, there was to be no mercy from either her or Maya.

An Old Enemy
colonelnabaat:
valkyrie-of-etro:
"Nabaat? I thought you had died when Barthandelus killed you!"
Jihl smirked at the pink-haired woman in front of her. She never thought that she would see an old enemy again, especially when she had heard that Lightning was perched upon Etro's throne in crystal-stasis.
"Well nice to see you too, Farron," Jihl replied in a smug tone. "Since I, like many of those in Coliseum, was granted the opportunity to come back to the living world. So to answer your question, Barthandelus did kill me, physically, but my soul wondered to the Void Beyond before going to the Coliseum. I'd figured you would know that, being Etro's champion after all."

colonelnabaat:
"I completely understand, the presence of strangers can make anyone a bit more...aware of their surroundings."
Jihl looked Faith up and down, deciding to be careful in her approach to this woman and not to get herself in a situation resulting in losing composure.
'She looks like the type that could hold her own if she needed to fight. I need to be careful around her or otherwise there might be a fight on my hands...'
"Anyway, who are these 'Blues' and why do they hate you?"
'colonelnabaat started following you'
Faith turned to face the newcomer. It was unusual for someone so overdressed to be casually wondering around in the city, but the blue stripes on the shoulder parts of the woman’s clothes, along with her somewhat professional appearance, had made Faith’s blood boil. If this woman was a new kind of Blue that the City had decided to send after the runners, Faith would need to deal with her quickly.

“Who are you? And don’t you dare say my long-lost cousin.”

The blonde woman saw as Aya placed a hand on her gun, setting herself into a defensive mode. Jihl gave an evil smirk and could tell that the woman was unsettled by what she just said.
‘Hmm, guess I was right about this one. She’s like them, there’s certainly no doubt about it.’
“We were doing it for the good of Cocoon, to protect it from any threat from Pulse. The population constantly lived in fear of the world below, it raised to believe that it was hell, hence the reason for the Purge. L’Cie are just like tools, readily disposable when they’re no longer of use…”
Jihl’s smirk went away as the grip on her saber tightened and she removed her glasses. She looked at Aya with a narrowed gaze, about to say some very serious words.
“My only regret with those two l’Cie was that I didn’t kill them on the spot…instead I tried to turn them against each other and see if they would do it themselves. If I could go back, I would execute them without waiting…or with any threat…”
“Alright, I’ve heard enough crap to get the hint.”
“You may as well just say it out loud. I know you don’t like me, and I know you see me the same way you do the l’Cie. But really, you talk trash about them, yet with every word you’ve said about them, you’ve painted a picture of yourself in the process. And I don’t like what I see.”
‘It’s kill or be killed, and I won’t be drawing my last breaths for a long time yet.’
“Walk away now, and I’ll pull a blind act. Pretend this conversation never existed. Pretend we never met. I don’t like to make things messy but if it’s necessary I will do it. Don’t tempt me.”
Jihl chuckled darkly, not even threatened by Aya’s words.
“You’re really are a hot-headed one, aren’t you? You really think that I’m just going to walk away…”
The blonde woman pulled out her saber and held it down by her side, her glasses were still in her other hand.

“Should I mention that before my ‘death’ that I was going to fight those six l’Cie single-handed? Well I don’t mind if things get messy, I’ll fight if I have to. Even though I’m not a l’Cie, I possess technology that all Sanctum military forces use to replicate the magic of the l’Cie…”
Her expression turned serious and Jihl gripped her weapon tighter, before using it as to motion someone over. Quickly, a group of about six heavily armed soldiers flanked her, all had their weapons pointed at Aya.
“So what are you going to do now, Aya?”
Seeing the soldiers surround Aya didn’t do much to faze her.
“I’m going to do what I do best Nabaat. And do you want to know what I do best?”

“I survive. That’s what I do best.”
Aya immediately turned on one soldier, firing a round into them before making a break for it, knowing that if she didn’t, she’d be gunned down within mere seconds. Taking cover behind a nearby wall, she reloaded her gun and waited for the first sign of trouble to come into her line of sight.
‘I need to gun down those lackeys and face that woman one-on-one, otherwise I’ll be outnumbered. I could just liberate myself temporarily and destroy them all, but the side effects of it are less than desired, especially here where there’s another way to solve this that’s less painful. I need to be careful.’
#breathebrave#colonelnabaat#reply#sorry for the late reply#university is a pain in the ass. XD#things have gotten heated.
