IWC Schaffhausen… my “one day I will have you” watch…
Conceived by American engineer Florentine Ariosto Jones (1841-1916), who had the idea of making watches in Switzerland to import to the United States. Originally met with scepticism, he found a kindred spirit in industrialist and watchmaker Heinrich Moser who had heavily invested in the town of Schaffhausen. Together, they built first watch factory in the North-East of the country.
Best known for their Big Pilot and Portugeuser models, developed with the in house Pellaton winding system, ensuring consistent timekeeping on the sea, in the air and on land.
Becoming part of the Richemont Group in the early 2000’s has allowed IWC to continue to grow to become one of the most sought after watch brands.
With ambassadors such as actor Bradley Cooper, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, NFL legend Tom Brady and hopefully in the coming months, me, the future is bright for IWC.

Jaquet Droz… a seldom seen brand…
Coming from the mind of Pierre Jaquet-Droz (1721-1790), initially a designer of automata and mechanical songbirds for the courts of Prussia, before switching focus and designing pocket and wristwatches.
Now a part of the Swatch group, which will no doubt safeguard the awesome history of a name with a long history… look em up!!
Haven’t seen many wearing them, most famous wearer seems to Rob McElhenney, co-owner of Wrexham AFC and creator of Mythic Quest and Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
