Hello World!
Greetings to the world of code and radio.  A strange marriage it be, but hopefully an enlightening and interesting one.  Much has been said about the need for computer literacy (beyond simple web/file browsing and use of popular software) in modern education.  Some suggest computer programming should be included next to the reading, writing, and arithmetic we all know and love.  Others scoff at such an addition to educational basics, arguing that even in the Information Age, programming is a niche activity limited to professionals and hobbyists.  Whatever side of the debate you are on, we can all agree access to quality, easy to follow, and fun programming lessons is invaluable to anyone who wishes to learn, regardless of their motivation.
It is with that in mind that I welcome you to //Comment This Out, a radio show and blog designed in the model of programming magazines of an age gone.  Tune into WHUS, Storrs at 91.7FM or online at 6pm each week to hear me fill you in on the main points, gotchas, and tips and tricks for each weeks highlighted code segment.  After that, you can come here to see a write up of the week's broadcast as well as code snippets, further information, working examples, and recordings of the previous weeks' shows.  As time goes on, we will build fun games and useful tools that not only help you learn how to program, but are also a hell of a lot of fun to use and put together.
Don't forget your semicolons!
