September 1989, Apple released the Macintosh Portable. Weighing 16 pounds, the Macintosh Portable featured a black and white active matrix LCD screen. It was discontinued in October 1991.

In September 1986, Compaq released the Deskpro 386. It was the first personal computer equipped with Intel’s 32-bit 80386 processor. The Deskpro 386 came in three models: Deskpro 386 40, 70, and 130. These models were differentiated by the amount of memory on their hard disk drives and the number of ISA expansion slots on their motherboards.

In July of 1985 Commodore released their Amiga 1000 as part of their Amiga line. Two years later it was discontinued. It ran off a Motorola 68000 processor and AmigaOS 1.0. Similarly to the Macintosh 128K, the Macintosh 512k, and the Macintosh Plus, it had a 4P4C modular connector for a keyboard attachment.

The IBM Personal Computer, Model 5150, was released as part of the Personal System/2 lineup. It was released in August 1981 and was discontinued in 1987. Sporting an Intel 8088 processor and 16-256 KB of memory, it had two different options for graphics! It’s Monochrome Display Adapter card allowed for high res text, while the Color Graphics Adapter card provided low to medium res colored images.
