I agree with this statement, Tenna represents that piece of childhood wonder when it came to watching cartoons on Saturday morning or watching the cooking shows at your grandparents house. It was something so...endearing about that.

The thing about Tenna that goes a LONG way in making him so endearing is that he's all the GOOD parts of television, with all of the bad parts smoothed over.

He's fun, he plays games with you! He goes out of his way to keep you engaged and having a good time! And even at his most antagonistic, it still feels like play - there's impact but he's threatening in the same way a batman villain is threatening. He's toothless!

He is not the hundreds of channels with nothing on. Or worse, the hundreds of channels with bad programming - the shows that exploit, that propagandize, the bottom of the barrel shows, the SLOP...Real television sucks. It's full of slop! It's so hard to find the things that you'd like because there's so much garbage drowning it out. He's not the endless advertising for shitty products all day every day, inescapable. There's a reason television is dying out.

If Tenna WERE any of that, it would make his character much more like Spamton...

But instead (imo), Tenna isn't supposed to be TV. He's supposed to be a very specific feeling of childhood nostalgia given form, a form that happens to be a TV set. He's the feeling of wonder and awe you got as a kid, when you didn't know how TV worked and it all seemed downright magical. Anything could happen, and sometimes even the worst programming was still better than what was going on in the outside world. The television as a world you can journey into for a time, to learn things, to see things, to fuel one's imagination...

You don't remember all the bad parts, the boring parts, the copious amounts of things about tv that sucked...You remember what made you smile. You remember when it was there for you...Imagine if you could live in those fantastical worlds? If you could go back? If you could stay there, forever...? I think that's part of what makes Tenna so charming anyway

My Cat is Sick

Hello, I must ask for assistance once more to help my cat, Hans. He is getting really thin and doesn't always eat all his food. He throws up a lot.
