🎯 Pre-Tanabata Festival
Tumblr media Tumblr media
images from Otaku Expo. I barely remembered what happened during this time, but the most I can say is, it was really fun. Cosplayed as Dabi from My Hero Academia, met up with my friends, encountered fun times. It felt really short-lived and such, but it was in Ayala Malls Manila Bay, with the smallest artist alleys ever and were all far apart from floors.
I think this was one of the poorer conventions I attended. Really heavy foot traffic not compensating for the space.
I apologize, from how quick this event was, I really couldn't remember much at all ^^;. However, even if it's one of the lesser cons in terms of quality, I had so much fun with my trio of friends.

🎯 Cosplay Matsuri 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
images from Cosplay Mania.
Fan Fair At Cosplay Matsuri, in SMX Convention. Actually, this is my third convention where I was accompanied by my friends, albeit we were only a trio, and my first paid convention as well as being inside of the SMX Convention Center. I think in terms of its quality, paying for P400 a ticket, it's the best convention I've went to so far and the one that marks my conventions in 2023. This convention was really fun and filled to the brim with activities, so much so, its my first event as well where I sat down and watched along.
There was a huge resting area which was divided into two, affordable food stalls (who would pay P200 for milktea), seats, tables, and a wider space for foot traffic to commence.
The line was pretty.. okay, to the say the least. You'd take 30 minutes to get inside, so it was pretty so-so. My friends and I participated in the medallion activity where we received Cosplay Matsuri badges as well as early access via vouchers of the next fan fair convention, which was Cosplay Carnival in March. I had a blast, and I was cosplaying Heathcliff from Limbus Company. There were a lot of happenings in the event, such as a cosplay auction ( you would've never think people would bid $25 on a pillow but they would ), a Jpop singing contest, and vtuber meetups that occured. The artist alleys were as good as Komiket but with a little bit more breathing room, and there were a lot to choose from. Practically there were 130 merchants, including those who had to share tables with their friends. This con was the biggest I've went to and the most high-quality, thus far.
I also participated in the photobooth exhibits and had a blast taking photos as well. Now as I am writing this, I am preparing for Cosplay Carnival, but unfortunately this will be my very first con where I'm entirely alone- with no company. So I hope for the best.

🎯Ozine Wildcard 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On April 30 or something, I had my first con with my friend group of four years, in Ayala Malls the 30th, at Ozine Fest. The entrance was free, which was one of the few anime conventions I went to that were free at the time.. and my first intentional con visit.
I actually visited this convention for it to be related to our Shintoism Webinar a year ago during grade 11 in Intro to World Religion, since Japan was known for its cosplay and anime scenes. Regardless it became a good reason to go.
This was by far the smallest mall for a convention. No really. All of the booths were really squashed near the cinema, which were already small as is. I had five of my friends come with me and it was difficult to roam through the artist alleys, and even the main stalls. They had a parade which made the foot traffic more worse.
The area wasn't well ventilated and honestly it was rather difficult to hear the hosts from upstairs, since the occupied three floors! Nonetheless, the experience was fun, and my friend and I had a blast with our purchases. I mostly bought my first Trigun keychains here.

🎯 Benilde Unplugged 2024
Tumblr media Tumblr media
images by yours truly.
My third visit to Benilde, and it was a blast! I loved this event to the core. It is where I met up with my friends, last February 24. I attended an orientation that shortly discussed the Multimedia arts program, and where I won a lanyard for my future course. I met up with my friends over from a Discord server, and we had another tour shortly which was exclusively around the multimedia arts floor, by the 8th floor.
We were all huddled up together, and everything felt like a haze because of how I was in the moment. But all I can say is, it was fun, and I felt at home.
Animo, Benilde. I feel like I'm no other.

Oh, Benilde. Yeaahhh.. Benilde. That is now, as of the time writing this, the college I will be enrolling in to pursue my Multimedia arts fixation. It was my first time entering the campus on December, during their tour. I arrived there on time, around 8:40 AM I was already in the main Taft Campus. It was.. such a dream to get in there, so much so, I don't remember what mostly happened- but we tackled the 16 floors of the building, from top to bottom.
The higher buildings were reserved for architecture and interior design students, where the environment was very warehouse-y which architecture students in particular found inspiring, and we saw their 3D made plates. Down and down, we went through the film atrium, which had a lot of tech, animation which had cintiqs and many animation-programs, multimedia arts, my future floor, where it was all rounded and was shared with the photography students. The canteen, at the 12th floor, was huge. That's where most of the art events and bands during friday have their music sessions.
It felt like such a dream coming here, and even if I felt alone, I felt really seen and safe in an educational institution.
Animo, Benilde. Be Like No Other. See you once again starting September!

🎯 Komiket BGC 2024
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's A WHOLE YEAR since I've attended art markets, whoop whoop! I haven't recovered from Cosplay Matsuri financially yet.. but I did have a haul. I was preparing for Cosplay Carnival at March 23 2024, but at the time of writing this, I unfortunately may not be able to write an entry about it, but I could!
The tables during these were.. actually bigger. They were much more narrow and there was a breathing room to walk around and view other artists, without risking inconvenienting the merchants or attenders. It felt really nice and welcoming, given the recent news and situations regarding about CosplayPH prices getting higher- Komiket artists had more heart to them, and I appreciate it.
The event was a blur to me, since I was mostly there for the merch- this time, I got myself League of Legends and Vtuber stickers- aaaaand self indulgent pins that had "yaoi enjoyer" on them, and I do not feel sorry for being prideful. I had a lot of fun in this event and actually, this marks my cheapest haul yet- by only P500 spent.
My haul was small, mostly pins and stickers, but I had so much fun! I jump scared somebody by asking for their Roland pin and that was a confusing mess. Till next, Komiket! I may attend their next one during my birthday, this time in Megamall.

🎯 Pokecon PH Market Market 2023
Tumblr media
Pokemon! One of my special interests, besides Trigun and a certain roblox game [do not ask me about it]. One-fourth of my birthday savings, as this happened shortly a week after my 18th birthday, was spent on here and boy did I have a blast.
The event had.. a lot to it. The front was bombarded with official merch and trading card goods, a small but good selection of artist alley tables selling their wares, a whole section of a gashapon pull of official merch and expensive cards, card needs such as trading decks, sleeves and albums, and much more. The stages were mostly held for QnA bees where people where tasked to answer the host's inquiries using their whiteboards, which they provided. Somehow cosplayers in this event were a lot. I met a Champion Leon and Subway Master Ingo cosplayer on my way here! As well as Cogita and much more. I even saw a corgi dressed up in a sailor Pikachu outfit being rode around.
Honestly, this event was where I spent the most impulsively on. I unintentionally got myself a Garchomp enamel pin which was already 800 pesos, and went on with buying stuff I probably didn't even need, but felt like having. The event was fun and I felt fufilled, however the artist alley, like Komiket 2023, it felt really.. squamped still. The tables here were much worse interms of being crowded, there was only, at most, a two feet allowance for people to walk through, and it was all near the stairs. This was held again in Market Market BGC, and this was rather the most crowded artist alley lineup I've seen.
Nonetheless, I had fun! Did I catch them all? No. Did I spend a lot and regretted it at all? I spent a lot but I half-regret it and half-don't!

🎯 CSB Art Puno February 2024
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
images by quezotheball
My most recent convention during February 4 in De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde, where I was accompanied with Quezo and Denise.
Let me just gush here for a moment- This is my future college. Already paid the reservation fee, already will submit my requirements and I'm about to undergo enrollment in August. I had SUCH A BLAST HERE. I really could go on and on, but for my own health, I will say.
I had so much fun interacting with the artists here- who mostly were 3rd year students, about to graduate with their capstones ongoing. I felt for once, in my life, that I belonged in an educational institution and gushed. I mostly bought Trigun and Vtuber merch, with my most prized possessions being commissions I got of my two characters, one who was a protagonist of my poem anthology (hi sir darren).
Tumblr media
I had so much fun and this was my haul during that time! I look forward to attending the events and even having a booth here in this college.
I also went on a secret detour with my two companions to find the Doctor Karayom room, 10/10 would do it again.

🎯 First Convention : Komiket BGC 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
images from @KomiketPH on twitter.
My first convention, which I unintentionally went to, during January of 2023. It was only that day I discovered what art markets were and that they actually existed in the Philippines.
I was walking around in Market Market BGC, and I actually attended the event starting 10 am. Mostly, the art booths had Genshin Impact, League of Legends, Sanrio stuff and a lot of cool doodaads. Someone was even selling bracelets they made and wooden coasters!
I found the event really fun for my first time, but a little overwhelming. The alleys were really, really, and I mean really cramped. I found myself having to squeeze in between crowds and lines of people buying stuff from people's booths and squeezing out soft "excuse me's-" in the most embarrassed voice ever.
Still, that didn't sour my feelings and if anything, this was the start of something really new! So in my eyes, this event was a 8/10 for me! I bought a lot of stuff, but I believe I kept it at minimum, P800, which wasn't too shabby (don't comment on my future expenses).
That's all! Baby Bullets' First Art Market!

🎯 introductory post!
Tumblr media
My name is Bullet -- you know, like the thing from a firearm. I am a mentally ill artist that aspires to make it into his profession one day, particularly artist alley booths in what we call conventions or art markets.
I attend conventions and spend tremendous amount of money to totally appreciate other artists (and not because I cope with spending.)
I hope you enjoy your stay here. I try my best to remember what events has happened, as I tend to forget a LOT of things!
