Never in his wildest dreams could he have written this script. Had it not been for the weight of her on his chest, he would've deemed this a fever dream, and been genuinely concerned for the state of his health.
Already when she said the words: MARRY A DIVINE BEING - he knew ( but could NOT BELIEVE! what was coming ). The only divine being here was HIM. From birth, he was chosen to be MORE. He had walked the path through HELL that lead to GODHOOD.
And she wanted him.
Even to Doflamingo, it was insane. SHE was insane. And that suited him perfectly.
Her emotions seemed genuine to him. The anger in her fingertips as they curled into his uniform. The determination in her eyes. She then brought out a paper. A key to HEAVEN.
For a moment ; the shortest of moments, Doflamingo was that boy again. His hand soaked with blood that had trailed down his forearm, and dried into cracks. His father's head had been heavy to carry, in the end, even as blood had drained from it. He remembered the taste of salt from his tears, and the BITTERNESS of disappointment, when they turned him away. They had rejected him from returning, even as he brought the head of their father who had FORCED them to live in HELL. All Doflamingo had wanted was to be safe again. For him and his brother to both be safe.
The moment was over, and Doflamingo was back in reality. What he had wanted back then was now being waved in front of him. It was surreal. However, he had stopped doubting that it was WAS real. Of course it was real! This was all meant to happen.
She cupped his face. He knew that she knew that he could not reject her. Why would he want to? The real question here was; WHY DID SHE CHOOSE HIM? Surely there were other Celestial Dragons that she could've married? He could only assume that she was too arrogant. She WANTED the satisfaction of controlling the most dangerous God of all. He had been burnt by such arrogance himself. A mistake he would not make again.
❝ I gladly accept your offer. ❞ He answered, and it sounded sincere - because it was. This could not have worked out any better for him. ❝ I must say I'm impressed that you have managed to arrange this. ❞ Reinstating his status... That was no small feat. He was aching to know her reasoning for choosing him, but he assumed he would learn that soon enough. Impel Down had taught him patience.
The goddess watched the male’s reaction as she laid out on his broad chest as if he was a king mattress, but she could feel the heart beating strongly inside of his chest. This caged bird was ready to be set free and she would gladly allow it to take flight, as she held the leash to its collar. The female could not help that her grin only grew in size as the blonde reacted positively as if he was willing to dance to her tune. Still, she would only allow him to have the golden apple if he was worth it. Licking her lips, Cosima sat straight up instead of laying out with her feet curled closer to her waist before pulling out the documents she carried. It was simply a contract, a marriage license, and an official paper with her family crest that would reinstate his divine status back to him. “I’m glad I have your attention then. You see my beloved father passed away from the strain of my brother being executed personally by our Uncle a couple months ago for pitying trash, which meant he was lower than that. However, for me to inherit everything I have to marry a divine being.”
Her voice was filled with hidden venom as she spoke about her family as she was the cause of their deaths. Poisoning her father was slow, but that old man still found a way to throw a wrench in her plans even in the grave. One hand that was on the male’s chest dug into the fabric of the prison uniform as she was trying to contain the rage that was bubbling up inside of her. Inhaling and exhaling sharply as she closed her eyes for a moment to remain calm. After a couple breaths, she flashed a smile again and glanced down at the fallen. “That is where you come in, Donquixote. I want to enter a marriage contract with you. Of course, it would reinstate you as a Celestial Dragon once more. I already have the official paperwork right here in my hand.” Letting go of the fabric that was bunched into a ball, she pulled out a scroll to hold in front of his face only a few inches from him.
Just like teasing a dog while holding a bone in front of its face, she was waiting for reality to sink into his mind and process the shocking news. The goddess was aware that he had tried to get his status before by bringing the head of his father, but the damage was beyond done at that point. However, the newest generation who were only children just as he was decades ago, she is at the top of the hierarchy of the social group. Using her family's influence, she had enough support from other families to get the paperwork to go through successfully. Of course, the older gods argued and tried to fight against it, but she had the numbers on her side to pull it off.
Speaking softly before pulling the scroll away as her other hand cupped one of his cheeks in an endearing manner, “So what do you say about my offer?”

(oh damn sorry, I didn’t know that- sorry. Lemme try again? Or na?) “Damn doffy” Shoki’s voice comes in from above. ”when are you ever going to take that annoying pink thing off? Your fashion sense is…” She holds in a laugh. “It’s questionable”
(Again, I’m sorry! I didn’t know and I’m used to doing first person. Sorry again!)
A voice addressed him from above. Rare, for Doflamingo was a tall man. He did not crane his neck to see. A GOD like him would only ever look UP to admire the beauty of the sky. He already knew that the person speaking to him was not beautiful. Another rarity, in fact. But not in a good way. It was highly uncommon for him to be insulted. One didn't simply walk up to a KING ( or a GOD ) and show bad manners.
He would not engage with something so petty. His fashion sense was, of course, not for anyone but HIMSELF. It was HE who liked to dress this way, and others would find his style sublime, because the clothes he wore were on his divine body. This stranger was clearly making a desperate attempt at receiving attention.
He would grant none.
Perhaps he would have Gladius deal with this person later.

"I can't believe you were Caesar's sugar daddy."
"Oh well, I can't lie, the man had good taste."
❝ Was THAT the nature of our relationship? I'm afraid he failed to inform me of that. Fu fu fu fu. ~ ❞ AS IF Doflamingo would EVER have any need to PAY someone for love, intimacy or affection. They all FLOCKED to him. Moths to the flame. Dying for just one glance of his hidden eyes. His business relationship with Caesar had been a necessity, unfortunately. Not that the arrangement was Caesar's fault, by any means. It was Doflamingo's own doing, that he had gotten involved with Kaido, and been forced to operate under his threatening hand. NEVER AGAIN. He couldn't wait to see the Yonko DEAD. As for Caesar... He doubted their paths would cross, and if they should - he would remind the other of all the trouble he had caused. Doflamingo's forgiveness would depend on his at-the-moment mood. Somehow, he DID imagine himself being gracious with the scientist.

❝ Fu fu fu fu fu fu! ❞ HUMOUR. Always. His chuckle deep, and clearly giving away that he was intrigued. Oh, the GREED he was witnessing was more like a hunger. The man before him had either been burnt by actual Gods, or he was searching for a transcendence that went beyond Godhood. The venom spewed spoke volumes.
He didn't like being called a Shinigami, hm?
Doflamingo had never known a man who would turn his chin up at the title of GOD. Then again ; he had never met a fellow God. There was no mistaking the ethereal beauty before him. Everything about him, from his eyes without light - to the length of his limbs. Sculpted to absolute perfection as one would only do when creating a GOD. Of course, the beauty in him was not merely superficial. The powers that rested within him. Not like flames. Not like fire. To Doflamingo, it felt more like staring into the abyss. Into the unknown, and it thrilled him.
Perhaps he had FINALLY met someone who would not disappoint him.
❝ If you don't answer to God of Death, what manner of title do you hold? ❞ Or prefer, if you will. He was unbothered by the insult, because it was petty, and he considered it below him, and ( hopefully ) also below the other man. A God didn't need to grasp so desperately for biting words.

❛ I will not believe that Cora-san fought and died for nothing. ❜
DON'T REMIND HIM. DON'T TALK ABOUT THAT DAY. DON'T SAY HIS NAME. DON'T BRING BACK THOSE MEMORIES. A smile stretched across Doflamingo's face, but there was no pleasure in it. If there was pain, it was not displayed. Perhaps you needed a HEART in order to feel anguish. To feel regret. TO FEEL LOSS.
He felt NONE of that.
Because he had already forgiven Rocinante for everything.
❝ Fu fu fu fu fu! ❞ Again. No joy. The humour there was bitter like ash. Like dust. Like bones. ❝ Oh, but he didn't die for nothing, Law. He died in order to gain my forgiveness, and indeed, I have forgiven him everything. ❞ His death was the ONLY THING that could've allowed him to forgive. Even so --- Doflamingo remembered. How his hand had trembled when he held the gun. Rocinante had been cruel. OH SO CRUEL. Just like himself. He'd made him kill his blood for the second time.
Kill his heart.

Oh, DESPERATION LOOKED GOOD ON HIM. Almost as good as blood. The fact that Law was spilling out that this was his last resort made it all the more satisfying for Doflamingo. However, this would not be enough to satisfy his GREED.
❝ Fu fu fu fu. ~ ❞ Humour. Always humour. Now with a touch of delight. As if he was tasting the sweet honey of pleasure. There were few things that looked more vivid to him than the suffering of others. Oh, and how it would twist Law's heart, to come to him. To ask HIM for help.
Still - he wasn't asking yet, was he? Such was Doflamingo's greed that he wanted to hear him say it. ❝ Is that so? Yet, here you are. Now, Law - won't you tell me what you want? ❞ Ask him. BEG. He could not wait to see the other's expression when he denied him whatever it was he was going to ask of him. Doflamingo would hold his hand out, offering life-saving nourishment, but once the pathetic creature got close enough, he would strike it down. This was the fun of torment!

❝ Such a shame. ❞ He'd tasted disappointment oh so often. It was the flavour of people, he found. The world would be far more beautiful when they were ALL DEAD. He had truly expected more of Crocodile. How could someone with such potential be crippled by fear? He assumed it was not DEATH Crocodile feared, for he should know that there was a high likelihood that Doflamingo could end him right here and now. It wasn't Doflamingo's task to hold his hand and tell him there was nothing to fear in the dark. He illuminated the path instead ; there was no darkness. Only him. Well ; there was the answer. Crocodile was afraid of HIM. As were they all! So why did Crocodile have to cower in this way?
Doflamingo's patience with him had run out.
❝ Fu fu fu fu fu, I can tell. You are far weaker. I have no use for someone who is too afraid to follow me. ❞
The tornado in Crocodile's hand had died out. Even if it hadn't, Doflamingo still would've showed him his back - like he did now, turning around and away from him. He didn't expect to ever lay eyes upon him again. Sometimes those who disappointed him came crawling back ; begging. Like Bellamy. Sometimes, Doflamingo was in a good enough mood - PLAYFUL ENOUGH - to pretend to forgive. But he never forgave. He never forgot. Once his interest was lost, it was cast adrift forever.
He offered him no goodbye. He would simply walk off.
His kingdom was worthless until it achieved its goal: getting his hand on the ancient weapon. Otherwise, Baroque Works only had the value of being an incredible information network. But this, just like anything else he'd built, was a castle of cards he could have destroyed in a fraction of a second.
What was not worthless was him, his mind, and his plans. A castle was just that; whether made of cards or concrete, it could be destroyed and rebuilt. It's not that he didn't take Doflamingo's threat seriously; he knew that what was destroyed could be remade.
But how the tables turned when Doflamingo finally answered him. Crocodile's lighthearted expression grew somber, heavy with intent, none of which was positive.
The creases in his forehead deepened, and his jaw stiffened. Trust. He'd really walked into that one, huh? Of course, trust was the issue. Trust had always been the main issue. He could not trust others - for you can be betrayed when you place your trust in others. Of course, he did not trust Doflamingo. How could he? As radiant as the sun as the man could be, Crocodile did not want to get burned AGAIN.
"I would rather be in control of how much sun I'm under." An admittance that he understood his place, perhaps? He knew that Doflamingo could burn him, and that's a weakness he wasn't prepared to add to his list. He was not afraid of dying - Death was not, in his opinion, the worst thing that could happen to him. Death is the end; it can't be that scary since there's nothing after. But to continue living after being burned? He'd seen it once but wasn't sure he wanted it again.
It wasn't Doflamingo he feared, but what came after him. When you're with people, you have to assume there'll be an after—there is always one.
Crocodile finally closed his fist, stopping the tiny tornado and dispersing the sand. He took a slight drag on his cigar as Doflamingo called him a disappointment.
"Get used to it. I'm not one of your brainless worshippers, after all."

The skeleton was not MISTAKEN. Though his eyes remained hidden from the world, they certainly did portray bloodthirst. Pulling the skeleton apart bone for bone was an enticing image. He wondered what sort of sound the ribs would make when they hit the ground. He'd feel less pleasure from killing this person than he USUALLY did from murder, because there would be no BLOOD involved.
There was no fear present in the skeleton, so it seemed he knew Doflamingo wasn't going to kill him. He even made a joke, poor though it was.
❝ Disappointed? Fu fu fu fu. ~ ❞ He chuckled. Ah, the skeleton had his logic backwards. It was not DOFLAMINGO who had missed out on - it was the world who had missed out on HIM. For the time being anyway. He was going to obtain immortality, so patience was a virtue he should learn to keep in his heart --- what heart --- . ❝ No, I feel no disappointment. History is only written by the victors, in the end. ❞ These "world changing events" that the skeleton spoke of... At some point, there would be NOBODY left to remember them. These events would mean even less because Doflamingo hadn't been there. And - in the end, the only one left to remember anything would be HIM.
"Yohoho, I thought you would be greedy like that." The skeleton laughed light-heartedly, leaning onto his cane. "Ah but I can see it in your eyes and body movement, the wish to pull me apart bone by bone... Though I guess that wouldn't be too hard considering I am made of just bones! Yohoho, skull joke!" He spun in place gleefully clicking his heels as he jumped back into position.
"Hoya, gratitude, you say?" Brook didn't hide his surprise. Though the short explanation after did clear things up quite a bit. "Oh, right, that does make sense. Luffy-san did take Kaido off of your hands. I am perplexed, however. I thought you would be quite disappointed since you are now left out of some very much world changing events." From what he heard from Law, the musician pieced Doflamingo in his mind as a thrill seeker, who gambled big to be at the center of the world with all its crazy events.

[ bloody ] sender arrives at receiver's doorstep bleeding and injured 8)
YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON I CAN TURN TO ; PROMPTS . ( accepting! ) .
RED . The most stunning colour. Blood. An accessory more vivid than pearls. Than gems. Than gold. It contrasted nicely to pale skin, and yet, the sight before him was not beautiful.
Drip. Drip. Drip. Enough blood for it to escape onto the floor. Mixing with dirt that someone had dragged in prior. A deep furrow appeared between his brows, mouth slightly open in surprise. Then his fingers flexed. Deadly. He would kill for this.
Rocinante's blood was the same as his own. It was his blood. Dripping onto the ground. Doflamingo felt it as painfully as if he was the one bleeding. Bleeding out. He stood up, the chair he'd been sitting in creaking harshly against the floor, creating scrape marks. Claws as if he needed to prove his anger.
❝ Who did this to you? ❞ He asked. Demanded a reply as he stepped over to meet his brother. Hands reached out. Deadly. But not to harm him. No, never him. The palms placed against the other's chest added firm pressure. Who dared to this to you? Where are they? I will kill them. The fabric of his shirt was soaked crimson. Staining Doflamingo's fingers now. The contrast not as sharp against his tanner skintone. The blood was sticky. He pressed his palms into the wet shirt like he could soak it up and inhale it through skin. Put it back into his own veins.
Who did this to you?

YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON I CAN TURN TO ; PROMPTS . ( accepting! ) .
The PAIN this was causing Crocodile was delicious. The agony on his face. The humiliation that burnt in his pretty golden eyes. There was no going back, once Crocodile had stepped over the edge and CONFESSED that he'd run out of options. That Doflamingo was his last resort. Doflamingo wasn't kind. He wouldn't try to make it less embarrassing for him. Instead, he'd push him down further. Make him dirty himself and his pride further. Doflamingo always thought he'd look the best on his knees.
❝ Fu fu fu fu. ~ I can tell. ❞ He was curious as to what Crocodile was going to ask of him. What kind of favour. And oh - OH how FUNNY it would be to deny him. Now that the other had FINALLY worked up the courage to toss his pathetic pride aside. How lovely it would be to watch the despair on his face when Doflamingo - his last resort - turned him down. He kept that option very much open. It depended on how cruel he wanted to be. Or, perhaps, how WELL Crocodile would play his part. If he begged properly, then maybe Doflamingo would show mercy.
