Sudraba Arhitektura unveils hanzas perons

preserving historic memory with modern construction

Following the recent surge of architectural projects in Riga which have seen the regeneration of heritage structures into innovative, modern venues, Sudraba Arhitektura has taken on Hanzas Perons which was previously part of a large freight railway station. Present day, it sits almost untouched as the last surviving of 15 warehouses that stood by the historic tracks, boasting exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and sophisticated sliding doors and gates. With their new design, the architects combine old and new elements for a harmonious fusion of heritage and innovation, ‘where respect for history is reflected in elaborate modern solutions, giving new life to the old.’

Schutzraum mit Geschichte

Die historische Maison Gonner hat früher die Verwaltung einer Bergbauunternehmens beherbergt. Heisbourg Strotz Architectes (hsa) haben das Bestandsgebäude in einen Schutzraum für Wanderer auf dem Minett-Trail im Unesco-Biosphärengebiet im Süden Luxembourgs umgewandelt. Das historische Erbe wurde dabei sorgfältig bewahrt und neue Funktionen hinzugefügt.

Geschichte bewahren

Die Einsiedelei von San Juan de Ruesta am Fuß der Pyrenäen ist Anlaufpunkt für Pilger auf dem Jakobsweg. Durch die behutsame Intervention von Sebastián Arquitectos wurde aus der verlassenen Ruine ein Zeugnis der Geschichte, das seine Besucherinnen in den Bann zieht und das lokale Erbe der Region bewahrt. ‘Ark38’ showroom: a converted weaving mill 

In the industrial town of Aalst, Belgium, a former 18th-century weaving mill and ex-Tupperware factory now houses the ‘Ark38’ showroom for bathroom furniture and kitchen specialist Sterck NV. Founders Hans and Stijn Sterck launched the restoration in 2018, joining forces with Objekt Architecten to revive the historical building without taking away its brick-clad, industrial character — resulting in a harmonic aesthetic

Preservación de las ruinas

El monasterio se convierte en biblioteca municipal con Korteknie Stuhlmacher Architects.

El estado ruinoso del edificio seguramente dejó una impresión duradera en el estudio responsable Korteknie Stuhlmacher Architects (Rotterdam). Continuar haciendo visibles las ruinas del complejo forma el marco conceptual para su restauración estructural y conversión del complejo. La oficina de Róterdam, que llevó a cabo la conversión en la Biblioteca de Malinas junto con Callebaut Architecten, Drongen y Bureau Bouwtechniek (ambos de Amberes), seguía mostrando la estructura original dañada, así como vestigios de renovaciones, ampliaciones y deterioro posteriores .
