AITA for ACCIDENTALLY getting my companion killed?

Hear me out- it wasn’t on purpose. My companion (28M) was astral projecting and an attack came out of nowhere, aimed right at his junk. I (26F)- without thinking- moved him out of the way so that instead of hitting his you-know-what, it hit his chest and he died.

Now he’s got this 8-lives thing going for him so he came back to life obviously, but he was pretty annoyed when I told him (or more accurately my sponsor told him) what I had done.

I think I’m NTA, I mean I feel like I’d be pretty annoyed if I was astral projecting and woke up to find I had been neutered, but he seems pretty mad that I quote “wasted a life on something so stupid.”

So AITA for letting my companion die to save his junk?
