( blake ! ) lvnarstruck:

PART OF BLAKE FELT  bad for admitting her discomfort with photography as it seemed to be one of velvet’s many passions.      “     no,      it’s alright.      you don’t have to.      i just typically don’t feel too photogenic most of the time.      ”      she said as her ears turned downward. 

          “ BUT BLAKE — YOU’RE SO PRETTY ! ”  she says out loud ( without thinking ! ), jaw having dropped a little.  her ears fell, oh my god that’s so sad please don’t be sad —  wait, WHAT DID I JUST SAY ??  and then the panic settles in.  “ not that you can’t still feel that way, that’s not what i meant, i just — ” shut up velvet !  she’s going to stop talking to you if you’re like this !!!  her hand quickly rises to clamp over her own mouth, horrified of whatever she’s going to say next.  “ i’m sorry for photographing you ! ”  she blurts into her hand in terror, ears drooping in her anxiousness.

     ruby wishes she could make a big, warm blanket manifest from thin air for velvet— something to comfort her beyond the simple pair of hands she has, rubbing soft circles on velvet’s back. for now, she only has that and her words to use. ❝ i’m really sorry you had to go through that, velvet… but, things are gonna start changing. from here on out, we’ll FIGHT off anyone who even looks at you in a nasty way! i swear on crescent rose! ❞

          “ uhhh, we don’t have to fight anyone ! ”  the faunus replies, expression startled.  “ but i would like it if things changed. ”  she sighs / sign of relaxation surfaces as she leans into the younger female’s hand.  “ i really appreciate your help.  i know coco .... took care of cardin later that day, but it wasn’t necessary.  the support from you guys is all i need. ”

"Velvet!!' Ruby went running up to her friend in a panic, blush stained across her face. "Ok so you know how you asked me on a double date with you and coco? with weiss? well i asked her without mentioning that it was a date and she actually said yes and I don't know what to do!! she doesn't know! should I tell her? what if she doesn't want to go anymore if she knows? Oh Velvet she looked so cute when she said yes!" Oh ruby, your gay is showing through your hyper speak.

          “ ruby, it’s okay.  who wouldn’t want to spend a day with you? ”  faunus reaches towards the younger student, hand resting on her shoulder.  what would coco do to fix this?  “ we can just — casually mention that it’s a double date and you could ask surprised too ! ”  but she’s curious as to how weiss didn’t figure out that it was a double date.  after all, her and coco weren’t exactly subtle about their relationship.  at least, everyone knows velvet has a huge crush on coco, and she’s known to have gotten in trouble for being out too late with the celebrity student on the town.  “ i think it’ll turn out okay, really.  try not to worry too much, okay? ”

"what's the best way to ask someone out?" (velvet pls everyone knows who ur talking about)

       “I—”

oh dear. she just had to choose the most inexperienced, most awkward,of the bunch, didn’t she? maybe she was looking for honesty? he doesn’tknow.

        “I dunno if it’d be easy. I mean, with the tournament &. all..”

he doesn’t have to continue.

          “okay, so. just— be yourself. that one’s really important. no pickup lines,           smooth moves, that kinda thing. cheesiness might help with some           people, but..” he’s laughing awkwardly, “not all. just trust me on that one.”

he wants to ask who it is she’s inviting out. it��d help to— shift the advice in away to help, but he doesn’t want to answer a question with a question.

         “try to think of something the two of you can do together, right? a movie,          dinner, a walk, museum, that kinda thing. as for asking, well..”

he bites his lip, drawing it into his mouth. well, in all honesty, he actuallydoesn’t know. the only efforts he’s really made on that have backfired, &.not in the good way.

       “be confident. not too confident, though. make sure you have an idea         for what to do. something like, ‘would you go out with me,’ or ‘wanna         do something together on sunday?’ that kinda thing.”

now, he offers a smile. it’s a light smile, genuine &. supportive.

         “you’ll do great, vel. just gotta believe in yourself.”

          “ i’m so sorry!  i didn’t know you didn’t like your picture taken. ”  in truth, they’re just pictures of gambol shroud, but still.  velvet dislikes the idea of upsetting blake in any way, so for the moment, she puts her camera away.  surely the feline looks beautiful in any pictures she’s in, but the hare won’t push past boundaries.  “ i can delete them ‘f you really want me to— ”

          “ thank you. ”  words are soft / firm, and her arms wrap around the younger ( yet taller ) girl’s neck tightly ( a show of her gratefulness ).  “ i didn’t get you into too much trouble, did i? ”  the second year speaks into yang’s neck, not quite finished hugging her savior.  after parting from the blonde, velvet maintains a close distance ( she's safer next to yang ).  “ i feel awful that you went through whatever cardin and professor goodwitch had to say just for me. ”

          “ i just get so scared i don’t know how to help myself. ”  faunus frowns, recalling the pain of rough hands pulling on her ears.  luckily, someone noticed this time, and rwby and jnpr’s combined efforts forced cardin to halt his bullying.  “ i didn't ask to have these, but he never leaves me alone. ”  bunny ears droop low, shame coiling into her expression.

'know you won't remember in the morning when i speak my mind.'

          “ but cocoooo, ”  rabbit begins, arms wrapping around her waist almost possessively.  “ ya really going to make me wait until the morning? ”  she sighs, but it’s playful amidst her drunken state.  “ i guess that’s fair. ”  with a yawn, the faunus leans over, curling up next to her teammate and laying the crown of her head against her chest.  her heartbeat is nice.  though her confession was somewhat lengthy, she’s almost forgotten what she said already, and in the morning, she’ll be regretting letting her teammates convince her to drink that much ( in their defense, none of them knew it would get her this intoxicated ).  

         “ mm, thanks for the great night.  remind me to bring it back up when i wake up, yeah ? ”  with slurred vocabulary and blurred judgment, she dozes off unaware of the sheer panic she’d cause herself tomorrow morning.  the blush she only gets for coco is back on her cheeks, and she snuggles closer to the human / legs tangle together beneath sheets that were probably only meant for one person.

"would you and weiss want to come on a double date with coco and me?" there's a brief pause as velvet sees something akin to terror settle on the rose's face. maybe coco's assumptions were wrong— "you and weiss like each other, right?"

Ruby stood in shock as Velvet asked her such a question. Sure, she and Weiss were close but did it really seem like they were dating? They were just partners! “I..I well..” She small girl began, almost shrinking into herself as her normally pale features turns a dark shade of crimson. “I certainly like Weiss. A lot. But I don’t think she feels the same towards me. She’s always calling me a dolt and yelling at me when I try my best! I mean maybe that’s her way of showing she cares and she’s shy about it but I don’t think Weiss would like anyone like me! She’s an heiress! She can have anyone!”
