As mentioned in your tag OP, there's is definitely an urge factor. We are social animals surving and thriving through bondings and affection. So feeding others is a conscious/unconscious nonverbal way of showing to someone yor care, affection and to initiate intimacy. Food also is a basic need in Maslow's hierarchy, a necessity hence it's also a relatively proven manipulative tool in terms of establishing positive reinforcement and control over a living being.
Hope my explanation made sense ^-^
