The bathtime epic continues
The bathtime epic continues
Nat got into the big tub without protest tonight. He was OK being solo. As the embarrassing (for him) picture below demonstrates. He let daddy wash him down and had fun playing with his toys.
He was actually really fun to be with all day. I wonder if the recent spate of grumpies were the side-effects of the lingering cold we’ve all been having. I hope this weekend is a good one as I’d…

Tiny plants
So the sun finally came out for a bit yesterday. It made a nice change from the unremitting cool and windy weather we’ve been having. And it activated the bugs in the yard in a big way. I’m going to have to put the mosquito repellent near the back door so we can all spray down if we’re going to be staying outside.
Also, I have a bathtub full of tiny plants! Out master bath tub is…

The Cluttering
We are deeply involved in garden construction right now. Thank goodness, Mother Nature looks like she’s going to be helping out by giving us another cool weekend to get heavy digging and building done.
I’m also trying to put together boxes of stuff to take away to the thrift store or resale place. We have entirely too much stuff in our house. I’m hoping to get rid of a load tomorrow,…

Man at work He really had fun with his new sand and water table. He was so intent, moving everything back and forth between the sides and sections. Thanks so much grandma and grandpa.

Ick
At work, still stuffed up and coughing, but I’m hoping the improved HVAC in the building will help to protect me from the deluge of pollen that I think is exacerbating the cold symptoms. I also have an antihistamine, so I’m hoping to get through the day. Woobs wants to do some gardening tonight and get his bean teepee planted. I’d like to get some work done as well, but we’ll have to see how I…

Surprisingly productive...for a sick day
Surprisingly productive…for a sick day
So, the Woobs took Nat to day care and then came back home to spend my sick day with me. Since he was here and we had the car, we wound up going out and getting all the stuff (like medicine and groceries) that we had put off over the weekend.
We also stopped at Lowes for dirt and play sand so we could set up Nat’s sand table. He didn’t like the drill noise during the assembly, but I think he…

You don't know what you've got...
You don’t know what you’ve got…
Until you actually turn the darn thing over and LOOK at it.
For example, we bought a nice new, PC compatible digital microfilm scanner for the library which was somewhat fiddly to set up and use, but actually allowed us to scan the microfilm directly to PDF…except everything came out too dark. So I futzed with the settings and bought a lamp that was not very much help. And then I had the…

Snuggly Wuggly
So true to form, I finished off the hubbs’s chunky knit scarf/cowl thing last night, just in time for what will probably be the final gasp of “winter” weather for the year, a cool and rainy front that is unlikely to require any serious bundling up. Oh well, there’s always next year.

Getting the ball rolling
Getting the ball rolling
Let’s see. I’m not used to updating anything regularly, but it’s probably good for me to get back in the habit. The Woobs is suffering through a head cold that has been passed around his office. He’s tired and snuffly, so we’re attempting to let him get lots of rest. I think Nat is happy to be back on schedule after a long weekend and big driving trip for Easter. We did enjoy seeing the…

Lucky I remembered my password
Lucky I remembered my password
It has been pointed out to me that I never post here anymore. That’s true. Mostly it’s because Facebook is a bit easier to use and most of the people I’m friends with here are also there. However, I do not like to leave people hanging, so here’s an update.
We did indeed get a foster child placement.
Here he is. We call him Nat. We’re in the process of adopting him, that’s going slowly,…

Checking in
We’re doing well. Still waiting on a foster placement from the county. We got some new furniture with our tax return and the Woobs is working on making as awesome computer-using recliner console thing. I’ll try to get some pictures of him in it when he finished it.

Fence contract
So we’ve found a contractor for our fence job. He gave us an estimate and we’re waiting to hear back from him about when he can start work. He figures it’ll take about two days and then we’ll have our fence. I’m very pleased.

Sister!
Had a nice day with the little sister and the Woobs today. We went to the flea markets in Fayetteville. And then we had dinner at Myabi and came home to play Wii. Not epically exciting, but a nice day all around.

Sick ol'Wooby and some Transformer writings
Sick ol’Wooby and some Transformer writings
And so the Woobs is sick with my old cold. He’s been a good sport about it so far, but now I’m trying to get him to settle into bed and rest. Sleeping really helped me, but he says he hates “wasting time” sleeping. Such a man.
I’ve also been doing a bit of writing. It’s totally all Transformers fanfiction, but that’s what I enjoy, so that’s what I do. I’ve got a link here to my latest…

Will trade for rain
Will trade for rain
It did rain, quite dramatically actually, but now it’s done. The rising barometer might be helping my stuffed sinuses clear up a bit, but I rather think it’s the meds I took about an hour ago. Sick day again tomorrow. I’d like to just kick this so I can get back to work full time.
We will be taking a break from NERO for the next two months at least. Events at the recent game have caused us…

Sexy sick voice
Everyone sing along, “Smelly cat, smelly cat, what are they feeding you?”
So the sickness has settled into my chest and is causing periodic raspy coughing. It’s annoying, but not catastrophic. Tomorrow night is D&D night. I’m going to try to get us out a little early so we don’t both wind up wrecked and tired all weekend.
Weekend projects include routine truck service, sewing room…
