Tiny plants

So the sun finally came out for a bit yesterday. It made a nice change from the unremitting cool and windy weather we’ve been having.  And it activated the bugs in the yard in a big way.  I’m going to have to put the mosquito repellent near the back door so we can all spray down if we’re going to be staying outside.

The Cluttering

We are deeply involved in garden construction right now.  Thank goodness, Mother Nature looks like she’s going to be helping out by giving us another cool weekend to get heavy digging and building done.

I’m also trying to put together boxes of stuff to take away to the thrift store or resale place.  We have entirely too much stuff in our house.  I’m hoping to get rid of a load tomorrow,…

So, the Woobs took Nat to day care and then came back home to spend my sick day with me.  Since he was here and we had the car, we wound up going out and getting all the stuff (like medicine and groceries) that we had put off over the weekend.

For example, we bought a nice new, PC compatible digital microfilm scanner for the library which was somewhat fiddly to set up and use, but actually allowed us to scan the microfilm directly to PDF…except everything came out too dark.  So I futzed with the settings and bought a lamp that was not very much help.  And then I had the…

So true to form, I finished off the hubbs’s chunky knit scarf/cowl thing last night, just in time for what will probably be the final gasp of “winter” weather for the year, a cool and rainy front that is unlikely to require any serious bundling up.  Oh well, there’s always next year.

Fence contract

So we’ve found a contractor for our fence job.  He gave us an estimate and we’re waiting to hear back from him about when he can start work.  He figures it’ll take about two days and then we’ll have our fence.  I’m very pleased.

Had a nice day with the little sister and the Woobs today.  We went to the flea markets in Fayetteville.  And then we had dinner at Myabi and came home to play Wii.  Not epically exciting, but a nice day all around.

And so the Woobs is sick with my old cold.  He’s been a good sport about it so far, but now I’m trying to get him to settle into bed and rest.  Sleeping really helped me, but he says he hates “wasting time” sleeping.  Such a man.

It did rain, quite dramatically actually, but now it’s done.  The rising barometer might be helping my stuffed sinuses clear up a bit, but I rather think it’s the meds I took about an hour ago.  Sick day again tomorrow.  I’d like to just kick this so I can get back to work full time.
