nah cause the fact that jane austen wrote a character like emma woodhouse is still insane to me. she threw all the standards out the window and was like hey, here’s this incredibly complex and nuanced character, she’s selfish, privileged, manipulative and arrogant, but she’s also really fucking kind, she would do anything for those she loves (including sacrificing a lot of her liberties), she is able to admit that she’s made a mistake and grow from it, because those things are not mutually exclusive. and i think the reason why everyone is trying to girlbossify their heroines to make them like lizzie bennet (which is an insult to her character but that’s another story) is because they’re scared to write characters like emma. which is understandable, because she’s unlikeable-ish, and they don’t want to take that risk.
honestly the way jane wrote emma is IMPECCABLE and not everyone can pull it off, but i wish female characters with actual flaws were more popular.

Why no one told me the lyrics of the song at the end of ep2 of Born Again were not just about Matt wanting to let the Devil out, but about him missing Karen too, huh?
Get Free by The Vines
I'm gonna get free
I'm gonna get free
I'm gonna get free
Ride into the sun
She never loved me
She never loved me
She never loved me
Why should anyone? (Come here, come here, come here)
I'll take your photo for ya (come here, come here, come here)
Drive you around the corner (come here, come here, come here)
You know you really oughta (come here, come here, come here)
Move out of California
Get (get) me (me) far (far)
When I have a lot to lose
Save (save) me (me) from (from) here (here)
(Come here, come here, come here, come here, come here, come here)
(Come here, come here, come here, come here, come here, come here)
When it's pretty time
Look into your mind
Don't wait
I'm gonna get free
I'm gonna get free
I'm gonna get free
Ride into the sun
She never loved me
She never loved me
She never loved me
Why should anyone? (Come here, come here, come here)
I'll take your photo for ya (come here, come here, come here)
Drive you around the corner (come here, come here, come here)
You know you really oughta (come here, come here, come here)
Move out of California

I think...the reason Wanda and Vision’s relationship grips me so hard is because it feels so personal. I get what they’re feeling that sense of being lonely, even when you're surrounded by people that knows you. You want to talk, to connect, but it’s like no one really... sees you. They just see the version of you they’ve made up in their heads.
....two outcasts who find each other. Everyone else has all these opinions about them, mostly negative, but none of that matters becuz they have each other. And that kind of connection? It’s powerful
I want that.... I want to find someone who actually understands me, who gets me, and who loves me for everything I am...the good, the bad, all of it. Wanda and Vision found that with each other. Their love isn’t perfect, but it’s real, and that’s what makes it so beautiful.
Their love story reminds me that being truly seen and accepted is rare but worth everything.... And honestly, isn’t that what most of us were hoping to find.....?
"you took everything from" Wanda said this to Thanos because vision is her everything... he's the only man in the world who genuinely cares about her....the only one who truly knows her
Sorry I am rambling again...I am just having a really bad day I freaking miss Wanda and Vizh :( I need them back together

Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater in TITANIC (1997)
There was this myth, I think, that was created by the media that the films entire success was based on 14-year-old girls going back to see it over and over again because they were in love with Leo. Certainly, that was a factor. But I also think they missed a critical point, which is teenage girls love the movie because it was about them. And they related to Rose. — James Cameron (Director)
So when I decided to write the book on it and I went to see the movie again, there were two teenage girls sitting behind me and they were weeping. And I said, "How often have you seen this film?" And they said, "Oh maybe six or seven times." And I said, "Why do you love this film so much that you keep seeing it?" They said the payoff in the movie for them was seeing those photographs at the end. It was seeing this old woman who had been the young woman and that she had lived a rich and really full life. And that she had survived all these troubles and had made something of herself. And that was so inspiring.
— David Lubin (Author of BFI Modern Classics: "Titanic")

“Brienne’s story is an adaptation of a traditionally male narrative, one that usually sidelines or victimises female characters. She swears fealty to a woman, as male knights swear to their liege lord, because she respects that woman’s strength, her bravery and her kindness. She goes on a quest to save the beautiful maiden, but not to marry her or benefit from the quest in any way, but to return her to her mother. Because she cares for Catelyn, and because it is the right thing to do. It is a story of a woman, rescuing a woman, for the sake of another woman. It is a rare story where the mother, the young girl and the shieldmaiden are all given equal weight and worth. Brienne, despite taking on many stereotypically male traits, is not “one of the boys” or in any way dismissive of her gender as a group. She does not fit into the role that society has assigned for her, but she does not disparage those who do. She uses her strength and her skill to respect and help other women in ways that most men in Westeros would never even think to attempt, because she understands, more than any other knight, that women are truly worth something as individuals.”
— “There Are No True Knights: Brienne of Tarth” @ Feminist Fiction

nice pair of characters who trust each other more than anyone else in the whole entire world it would sure be a shame if one of them betrayed that trust for the sake of trying to keep the other alive. it would sure be a shame to love someone so much you destroy them

The cousin of "he would not say that:" he would not keep saying that. It was a one off funny line for one particular situation. Every memorable line does not need to become a running gag.
#oh thats me every time something sais in passing in canon becomes a constant in every single fic#i dont care how romantic it is

frank castle and matthew murdock dynamic of allllll timeeeee. they represent different sides of the vigilante spectrum. frank fully goes by his government name, doesn't wear a mask, and kills freely. matt has a secret identity and draws the line at taking a life. both have a clearly violent nature that they enjoy indulging. BOTH ARE NEW YORK CATHOLICS. matt was frank's LAWYER. matt somehow knows where frank's hideout is??? frank is one of the few people in the world that knows that matt is daredevil??? there's clearly some loyalty there between the two?? ANNNNNND they like the same girl goodbye im gonna be obsessed with them forever.
and frank even has a cutie nickname just for matt. do not even get me started on that.
