Hello I just discovered August and I’m halfway through and it’s the most beautiful piece of long form solangelo writing I’ve read. You’re very talented and you stitched up a very messy canon so well I’m amazed 👁️👁️

Have you heard too sweet by Hozier? Ever since I heard it all I can think of is your Nico and Will, it's like almost frightening how well it fits your story. The whole song has the theme of like look at him and then look at me it's silly to think we could be together (but then there's wedding bells in the back??) You even said that Nico seems like the kind of person to take his whiskey neat that's like truly jaw dropping. The caretaker/cared for dynamic? One who wakes up with the sun and one who barely makes it to lunch on time? The little ghostly humming moment? Some people have been saying that this is a rejection song but I've always heard it as more teasing so don't listen to them. August is cannon to me and this song is canonically about them lmao

i've heard snippets of it but not the whole song! i'll be sure to give it a listen and see what i think in relation to solangelo <3

your august fic is insanely impressive how well written it is!!! i can imagine that took forever to write, so what has the process been like with the new version you’re making?

oh my goodness lmao process is the right word!!!

the basic outline for writing a new chapter of august (will's version) is:

read through the corresponding chapter of the original august

work out a rough plan of how will's day will fit around that

annotate the original with any thoughts/activities i already know i want to happen (i have a list of a bunch of these for each chapters that i scribbled down while writing the original)

check another list i have of details i need to remember for continuity/to make future chapters make sense

split the rough plan of will's version into 'scenes' and then plan those out more fully

handwrite because my brain only thinks of words while i'm staring at a piece of paper and not a screen

type it all up
