I don’t know how to embed a video on here, but this quote so poetically explained a concept I couldn’t put into words.

the number of spacecraft failures recently has been absolutely insane and it all comes down to tech bros barging into the industry going "it's not that hard wtf is nasa so bad" and then completely skipping out on any testing

anyway you should always remember that all those foreigners you see dying on the news are just as real people as you are who have just as much interiority as you do. there is nothing about you that makes you more important and it is by pure chance that you are not in their position. in fact, this holds for all of history. every person, no matter the horror of the fate that befell them, had just as much interiority as you do. i feel like some people haven't fully internalized this.

If Hamlet was written in the modern day, Claudius wouldn't have been revealed as the villain until the end, everyone would've survived, Hamlet would've become king, Claudius would've been put in jail, Ophelia would've married Hamlet, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern would've been in every fucking scene and serve as the overly idiotic comedic relief, every line would end in a one-liner, and it would all end in a dance sequence to the fucking backstreet boys and the final scene would be Claudius breakdancing in his prison cell because God is dead and we deserve nothing.

i know i already made a post complaining about people hating on historians for putting signs of affections in the context of the times but i find it even more silly when people are mad at historians for just saying a source is unreliable and not believable, like we should throw away all standards and pretend old gossip and political slander are facts whenever it happens to align with what we'd like to be true. if we start accepting "this guy's haters said he was gay" as facts, we can safely claim every single politician and ruler to ever exist as gay

I can't believe liberals went to protests with cringe signs, they should have followed the examples of our leftist betters and stayed at home and made posts.

people are always slandering historians for saying reasonable things like "some things that seem romantic to us were platonic in the context of the times", when there's so many evil historians you actually have to look out for. number 1 : the closet royalist
