It’s very odd - I’m starting to believe that I’m arguing in Instagram comments with chatbots or political operatives who want to build up extreme views that make progress either impossible or unreasonable.

The United States political system has a serious issue with nurturing, platforming, and moderating healthy competition due to two major issues. Campaign financing and voter attention span.

It’s the classic chicken and egg conundrum, but the obvious solution is either a major grassroots upheaval forcing legacy institutions (media, political parties etc) to spotlight new talent/ideas or for those legacy groups to implement policies like Ranked Choice Voting which lessen “adversarial campaigning”.

Major news networks prefer to cover major candidates, and can you blame them?

If you’re sick of listening to top 40 hits on the radio - then maybe you recognize that superstardom is profitable, but often bad for the quality of the product.

This is now officially an incomplete thought, but to end my rant: please be reasonable or start a plan. Instead of trying to burn every solution, offer a few or sow the seeds.
